Quantum is really good for controlling a large group with less power. As in cast one power and control most, if not all, of a group. I used to use Gravity Well on like 6 or more targets at one time. Anomaly roots and stuns 4 which is cool but it's an annoying control effect because no other powerset can overwrite that control effect. Quantum has pulls (which isn't a PoT move), it's pretty, and it has teleporting. Controlling wise Quantum is amazing.

Strict damage powers wise, Gadgets has an upper hand on Quantum. Gadgets has the perfect mix of Burst Damage and Damage over Time powers. Not to mention a Pet.

You won't really run into power issues but it depends where you are on your power bar when you go to control a large group. You'll at most use 2 powers in large group and their power cost will factor in.

Decoy's initial stun is good but short. Plus side is the NPCs will target it so they're out of your way. GG throw in there is a bonus.

My favorite control combo atm is Decoy them Sticky Bomb. Sticky Bomb sends the Satyr/Hoplites flying away from a centered area but they're disabled so it's whatever. Decoy keeps Guard Exemplar/Defense Officers and other NPCs that develop immunity focused on it.

gg is great for pvp cause its usable while controlled. Great side ability if your just wanting to stun things.
For the most part I use status field allows me to put lots of enemies in a ball and with that you can focus on 1 enemy while the others take dots in the ball.

Havent used fear gas so I cant say on that. Decoy I don't use for stunning its more to keep agro off me or the group for those random adds that say nuts to the tank. Add it with distract.
    Great for a&b.

I miss light though cause light blast was my jam before the slow down I used to do ram-snap-light to knock back and stun enemies.

Each controller class has its own strength. For me and my friend both controllers. I told him in a raid let me know if anyone is straining him since he is the refresh guy. I can pop out battle drone and get 2 pots going adding to the power pool for refresh.

Sure would I like gadgets to have a right here and now shield and a group shield/power restored sc yeah.
But energy shield looks cool while its waiting. It would be nice getting ride of word of power for when I solo troll if they could add a group shield sc

    Thanks for the reply.

My new char will only be controlling, I'm not concerned with DPS'ing per se; only in terms of putting out damage while controlling. That's why I was wondering in terms of gadgets vs quant controlling, is there a noticeable margin of difference in favor of gadgets?

Idk if i was imagining this or it was changed without me noticing.
In DPS stance did stasis field use to damage two targets? If so it only damages one now, was this changed publicly or in a "ninja" fashion.
It also could just be me imagining things.

I'm almost positive I've held the aggro with my rage tank, but I'll test again tonight.

So I trolled a Paradox today for marks.

I always messed around with stealth so stopping charges wasn't anything special in regards to pinning ravager or oppressor.

After dark explain the placement of decoy, I was actually successful in using it to pin ravager.
Oppressor has 1 charge, so using stealth to pin the oppressor isn't a problem. The cool down is actually in perfect timing so when the oppressor is ready to charge again, stealth is ready.

Ravager is different, it has 2 charges. So for me to block the first one, I had to use stealth first. After pinning the first charge, there is time to readjust and place a decoy exactly where it needs to be. It can survive the charge.

Thought it was fun to actually be able to do that.

This did happen for me but during different situations. I think it has to do with the positioning. If you place your decoy behind you, it will sometimes ignore it.

Well you are right about that, but I got sick to my stomach everytime I never got to see Dr. Claw... only his fricking hand and that pet cat dog of his freaking out from time to time made me throw something across the room.

Trying to get into PvP, this is my DPS loadout so far:
Gauss Grenade, Cryo field/foam, intimidation, Neural Neutralizer, Distract and filler for a debuff.
    Any suggestions?

I spent a week with quantum at launch the main reason I switched back was the difference in my damage no.s both pve and pvp (as troll). I put it down to power interactions/cast times/cooldowns. Using pot to set a pi wasn't acceptable for me when gadgets has p.i's out the wazoo. The stuns and animations etc with quantum were nice but not nice enough to favour it over gadgets. Now since wm and u36 changes this might not be as much of a difference in damage nos. With animation changes. Gadgets is my favourite of all controller powers .

Main reasons are the speed and versatility. Decoy drone turret photon . if it wasn't before im now claiming foam as the no.1 grounding move in the game. In pvp this is important

Question about Energy Shield with Regerative Shielding mod. Does the heal come on the cast or does it come when the shield pops at 35% health?
  12. TheDark Devoted Player

Powers wise (DoTs linked with certain debuffs, turret) yes.

There's a burst heal on each of your casts of ES.
  14. TheDark Devoted Player

That's pretty much what I use. I haven't done PvP for months though. The last slot I changed around depending on who I was fighting and what kind of PvP arena. Sometimes I threw in the tank debuff (throwing knives), decoy (to give the other guy targeting issues along with minor damage protection for me), stasis field, or photon.

Stasis field is fine. It's only damaged one target in damage stance for a long time.

I never got to see dr claw either. I'll comb my bangs over both eyes and have an emo moment later.

Well since the title of the thread is linked to inspector gadget, next time you feel like throwing something throw it at Mr ShadyMilkman. He named the thread. :p

    Sounds neat.

I ran with another gadget controller/DPS in the t6 alert. We both cycled decoys and practically had it up the whole time. Ran healer 2 DPS and troll and beat it. I was thinking this morning, imagine having 2 gadget trolls and a gadget DPS (maybe 2 gadg DPS using decoy and different DoT set ups) running DOX/nexus/a&b with nothing but decoy cycling. Maybe 2 cycle on bosses and the other 2 cycle them on adds in the back or something. Would allow for an extra DPS.

Those bloody tanks want to take my bloody job of controlling? Well I guess I'll take their job of taunting and boot them out the bloody group entirely :D seriously though, might be neat to try that out someday.

    My pvp loadout is
stealth in stealth thermal mine that way when capturing a nod I can place bombs out the behind.
sticky bomb for the stuns and aoe damage
gauss grenade cause it can be use while controlled
supercharge of the gas that's usable while controlled
decoy and self destruct just to be able to set it on a nod and blow someone to heck and back

    It would be cool to make an Only Gadgets T6 Weekend Raid (some anesthesic here and there) and put it on Youtube;
and who knows, maybe other powers would try it out

LMAO can you imagine in an alert, 3 Gadget DPS and 1 troll. Cycling decoy while 1 WM to NG, 1 WM to FG, 1 WM to foam over and over lol.
