One problem after another :/ The game keeps crashing, everytime I logged in, games starts up my new character says linkdead, I cant use no other character only the one that says linkdead then when I press play, it loads then the games comes off. no error messages or nothing
Stop trying to log in for 10 minutes. Wait on te character select screen until the linkdead status is gone.
I am having the same problem. Not only did I get DCed, but after that my character went linkdead. So I wait for the linkdead tag to go away and I can log in again and the problem happens again. It's happened 3 times now. I just keep trying to log in, it keeps kicking me and marking my character as linkdead. It should be noted that I am not in a any kind of group or anything. I am in the watchtower and have been solo questing for a few hours. This just started happening for no reason.
Have you waited 10 minutes without trying to log in before you try to log in? Every log in atempt refreshes the linkdead status.
Yes. Not only that but I just waited 3 hours between login attempts and it did it again. It doesn't even get into the game anymore. It just crashes at the loading screen right after I select my character. Moreover, I have two seperate installs of this game (1 Steam, 1 direct) and they both have the same problem though they are isolated installs (separated drives and integration to avoid the bugs that come with multiple installs). It was fine yesterday and fine this morning, then at about noon I started having this problem without reason (apparently) and it won't go away. Also, for what it's worth to skip a lot of other questions, it's not my PC. My PC build is WAY more than this or basically any game calls for. I scan for virus' every two to three days with 4 different programs. My system is set up to run on bare minimums as well; meaning that when I am running a game, the only other things running are essential services and programs. I mean running this game with full settings I am barely breaching %15 CPU %10 RAM usage with no marked raise in temperature.
Have you already contacted Daybreak Games support? Do you have Windows 10? If yes, make sure that the graphiccard driver is OK and Directx, Net Framework and C++ Runtimelibrary are installed correctly. Windows 10 has repeatedly shown problems with updates to Net Framework and C++ Runtime Library.
I am honestly not sure how to contact them. Every link on their damned sites just leads to the forums. No phone number. No email. Nothing. I do have windows 10. I have already updated my drivers (and wiped and re-installed them), I don't know how to make sure that the Net Framework and C++ Runtimelibrary are installed correctly. That being said, I tried to play again this morning. I started with my direct install and it worked fine for about 20 minutes. I just got booted again with the same issue. I am moving over to my steam install for testing now. I played on the Steam install just fine last night with little to no issue (except the unbearable lag that is apparently an ongoing problem with Steam installs of this game). It crashed a couple times but I was able to boot right back into the game easily.
