i enjoyed this moree then the last episode. Also, eversince they started with the whole alternive earth thing, they have decided to use the word...doppleganger. I seriously...seriously hate the use of this. Like seriously, i hat the word. Why coudnt they just say earth 2 ____ That seriously would be less...idk. cringey.
It makes less sense when they explained the "opposite property" since, if we believe that property to be true, then it is not possible to have another Earth with again different copies of these same iconics. So for example the Earth with Owlman, etc. on it could not exist in parallel with their Earth-1 and Earth-2. Illogical still if Supergirl's Earth is ever revisited and it turns out that Barry exists on that Earth but doing something more original (ie not the Flash or a forensic expert) then what do you call this third Barry? Dopple-doppleganger of the doppleganger and "original"? That's why I referred to it as "showience" since science and logic are rarely represented well on TV. lol
yeah. the whole opposite nonsense is nonsense. Because there not opposites, there just different Versions of an individual. Different experiences, different thoughts, different wants and needs. I mean its not like it isnt possible for an alternate version of u to be left handed. But they specifically stated they were complete opposites...which doesnt make sense since Iris isnt much of an opposite of earth 2 iris. Nor is joe.
Technically, Tommy did return - if only in a flashback. But that means they are willing to bring him back, and now that we're dealing with Earth-2 and time travel (Flash and LoT, respectively), there's plenty of ways to bring him back yet again. Maybe as an Earth-2 version, or maybe with some time traveling. As for Laurel, we got the Earth-2 version on Earth-1 already, so it's only a matter of time before she escapes. It won't be the "real" Laurel, but close enough. She can be impersonating Laurel, or even get redeemed. I just don't see them locking up the Earth-2 Laurel and keeping it a secret from Team Arrow for too long. Not all Supergirl-villains are dead, and those who are still alive, are more than likely to return at some point. Ra's Ah Ghul is a title, not a person. Though just like Tommy, the original did return - if even for just one episode for now. So while you're both right, you are technically not 100% right. No one ever stays "dead" in comics. Then again, they still have a long way to go to catch up to Supernatural. Dying there is a minor inconvenience at best. Lol.
Wouldn't surprise me, but not so soon. We are only in season 2 of The Flash, and season 1 of Legends of Tomorrow. (keep in mind merging Earth-1 and Earth-2 would affect all three series, not just one.) If something like this is going to happen, I'd say it'd happen around season four or five of The Flash. It's too soon to merge everything now. An alternative is to merge Earth-1 and Earth-3. It would bring Supergirl into the ArrowFlash/LoT universe, but might not bring too many other changes. We still won't be seeing Supergirl flying around in Star City or Central City, but it would mean we can get Supergirl villains on Arrow or The Flash, and their villains in Supergirl. (And the friends, of course.)
So, out of curiosity, have you heard of The Clock before? I say this because certain characters do indeed stay dead or more accurately "never have their original stories written about again; reduced to pure legend and hearsay".
Actually, no, I haven't heard of The Clock. No idea what you are talking about. Though I guess "no one stays dead" isn't entirely accurate. I think a more accurate version is that there is always a way to bring someone back. Some return for a single episode (Tommy in a flashback etc), while others return to stay (Sarah). And then there are the alternate versions of people, like bringing Earth-2 Wells over to Earth-1 permanently. It's not the "real" Wells, but close enough.
Seeing someone in a vision past, or whatever, is not 'bringing them back." Sarah is a good example but Earth-2 Wells is not since he's a different character. In fact the Earth-1 Wells died after Reverse Flash killed him and assumed his identify. This again is not "bringing back" wells since it is really a new character. "Rebirth" and "replacement" or "image" are not the same things.
But bringing back the same, old characters would be boring. Evil-Wells's story is done, so it's pointless to bring him back. Better to get not-quite-evil-but-is-he?-Wells instead. Plus, the evil-Wells wasn't even Wells, but some other guy. I think. Wasn't Wells from season 1 just Eobard Thawne? So Wells died (the real one), then they called Eobard Wells, and now there's a third Wells. That's three Wells' in two seasons. Kinda hard to keep track of them.
Seriously John Wesley Shipp and Amanda Pays miss out on a romance opportunity again. As I recall form the 90s Flash show there was some hinting at things between the characters but the show got canceled, no chance to explore that. Now with the new show the writers bring them back together, give them an instance attraction but then rip that away just as fast.
"Shipp may make a comeback" http://www.latintimes.com/flash-season-3-spoilers-5-exciting-things-know-about-coming-season-385080
Interesting. Henry Allen is on the list of (possible) returning characters, but Wells is not? Though keep in mind this doesn't mean Wells won't return (Wally and Jesse isn't mentioned either), and it doesn't confirm Earth-2 Henry is the man in the mask. And even if it is Shipp, it doesn't mean he's playing Henry. It could be anyone, including Hal Jordan. Which would be pretty cool, actually. Love the actor, but he really NEEDS something to do. Though him as Sinistro? Now there's a thought...
Shipp is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. I hope he does return because that moment when John and Pays said hello to each other at the party I was nerding out. But remember, when Flash traveled to Earth 2, he saw in the tunnel various visions of different worlds, there was an easter egg where you actually see Shipp when he was the Flash in the 90s. Crossing my fingers for more of that.
Totally want a pair of Black Siren's boots!!!! That Meta Wally ran down (literally, with his car) seemed to recognize Wally, more fuel to the identity of the MitIM
Don't forget he also saw an Oliver Queen with only one arm, as well as Supergirl. Both have appeared already (though Oliver wasn't on The Flash.) Wouldn't surprise me if we get a Henry Allen as The Flash at some point. Don't think he's the man in the mask, though. It's too obvious. Especially with both the Zoom- and (especially) Reverse Flash reveal being disappointing. Though there is the newspaper from the pilot. Anyone remember that? According to that, WayneTech and Queen Industries will merge in season 10 or 11 of The Flash. Could the man in the mask be Bruce Wayne? Not necessarily Batman, though that would be cool.
Ugh... hate to say it, but this was one of the most boring season finales I've seen in years. To summon up a few things I hated: - The whole climx with Zoom was ridiculous, even for The Flash's standards. ("You came back in time to let your future you sacrifice yourself?" "Yeah, I can do that now. Because... reasons.") So if he went back in time and sacrificed his future self, what was the point? And if he sacrificed his past-self, wouldn't that create a time paradox? Not sure which one died, but it's irrelevant. Either way, it was a major cop-out. - The man in the mask had a ton of potential, yet they used one of the very few they should NOT have used. For a while there, I was expecting it to be a third version of Zoom (or the one who died in the intro), as a Black Flash. I don't even know that one well, but it could have led up to a Blackest Night thingy. With no lanterns, but still. Marvel pulled off a Civil War with no secret identities quite well. (in case you don't know, the "secret identity" was the entire point in Civil War in the first place in the comics, and even had a huge moment when Spider-man revealed his true identity to the public. That made a lot of villains happy, to say the least... and a few Peter Parker friends and relatives very unhappy...) - Speaking of the man in the mask, what was the point? "It'll only confuse you." No, it won't. We've had an entire season focused on multiple worlds, and Flash even went to National City and met up with Supergirl. How would the unmasking be confusing? Especially as they never actually did ANYTHING with that reveal? - Wally and Jesse were pointless additions to the season, even after BOTH of them got zapped with the speed force after the particle explosion. We never even got a hint that either of them was a speedster. So much wasted potential. I was really hoping for a "You can't race Zoom on his own terms, Barry... but Wally/Jesse can." or something like that. Basically, add Wally and/or Jesse as a wildcard in the Flash/Zoom climax to take out Zoom. The ONLY thing I liked about this finale was the last scene, and that stopped too early. I would much rather have Flash return to the present and give us hints and teasers about what's next. As it is right now, it felt more like a happy ending series finale. Last season, the world was ending. This season (last episode, even) Cisco warned that he had a vison about the end of the world... yet, the season ended with an f'ing "You're safe."? WTF? Sorry, rant over. I absolutely love the show, but this season finale was beyond disappointing. The whole Zoom-arc has been a hit and miss (some excellent stuff, like Zoom parading a "dead" Flash through the city, but a lot of boring stuff too), and I'm really tired of yet another speedster as the big villain. Next season needs to improve a lot on this. No more speedsters, please. Please, please, PLEASE bring us The Rogues instead. Or a movie-version with Gorilla Grodd returning in full force. I'll accept that. Maybe. If I have to. (because movies have a much higher budget. I don't see them using Gorilla Grodd invading on the tv-series.)
