    Two little tidbits.

First, HIDIVE is going to start streaming the OVA for 'Is It Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II' starting on the 29th. It's a beach episode, apparently. :D

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...dungeon-ii-ova-starting-on-january-29/.155780

Second, they just announced season two of 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' is coming this fall, with some OADs coming in March, July and November.

    More tidbits.

First, they've announced the date for the third season of 'My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU' as starting on April 9. Same production company as season 2, so I'm looking forward to that.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/da...u-anime-season-3-premieres-on-april-9/.155818

The dub for the first two seasons has also shown up on HIDIVE, but I'm afraid to check it out. LOL Sentai is still pretty hit-and-miss with their dubs, and I'd hate to see that show get diminished by a dub that I don't think measures up.

Third (I count the dub news as number two, even if I didn't number it LOL), Steins;Gate is getting the live action Hollywood treatment. TV show format, with Skydance Television (company behind Altered Carbon) producing the show.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...-game-gets-hollywood-live-action-show/.155796

So more anime properties are getting some attention stateside, but I'll still remain cautious in my optimism.

Finally, there's a trend of sorts it seems. In the fall season, within days of each other we had two different shows (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun and Kemono Michi: Rise Up) feature their respective main characters performing a perfect German suplex on another character in the show.

For winter? Well, it's a little different. Two different shows (Interspecies Reviewers, Seton Academy: Join the Pack!) in essentially the same broadcast week highlight the fact that female hyenas have, um....equipment very similar to the equipment of male hyenas. You'd swear the different companies/shows are coordinating or something. :D

A "no way!" and "wow!" moment or two from Funimation today.

First off, they posted what looks to be a teaser for an iconic show coming.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/da...sible-license-of-paranoia-agent-anime/.156014

Definitely gonna be keeping an eye on that story. At the very least it'd be interesting to see how well the show holds up after all this time.

Second, they've dropped a show from this season. Seems as though Interspecies Reviewers was a bit too much for them.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...as-it-falls-outside-company-standards/.156012

Double checked my queue, and sure enough the show isn't there anymore. The "falls outside company standards" bit kinda says something, considering shows like High School DxD and Shimoneta were a couple of their releases. Guess Reviewers went a little too far.

I wonder if some other company will pick it up and use a "too hot for Funimation" advertising campaign now. LOL

So there seems to be a weird cascade effect happening with Interspecies Reviewers. Apparently it's still available on some streaming services overseas even though Funimation dropped it, but Amazon Prime has removed it now.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...-removes-interspecies-reviewers-anime/.156191

More details in the article on where it is and isn't streaming anymore. LOL

It also looks like Funimation managed to pick up Asteroid in Love to replace Interspecies Reviewers.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...teroid-in-love-anime-to-winter-lineup/.156195

Bit of tonal whiplash with that one, though, considering what Interspecies Reviewers is about while Asteroid in Love is pretty much a "cute girls doing cute things" show. :D

Anime based on non-Japanese properties have become a steadily increasing trend, and spring 2020 will see the practice continue. Tower of God, a Korean comic, will be receiving an anime adaptation this year. Though its a huge hit in South Korea, the series isn't nearly as well known outside of its home country.

The series is a webtoon manhwa (Korean manga) that is published online. This format and publishing method has actually seen printed manhwa decline in popularity, as well as making it easier to release the official translations in different languages. So far, there are three volumes of Tower of God, and chapters are referred to as episodes.

I'm hoping Solo Leveling gets the anime treatment too.

The English dub for Season Two of Konosuba arrives on Crunchyroll on Feb. 25th. :D

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...onosuba-season-2-anime-on-february-25/.156507

Plus it looks like they're starting dubs for Somali and the Forest Spirit and Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...-in-love-so-i-tried-to-prove-it-anime/.156508

Their dub for Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun wasn't bad, but at the same time it wasn't a must-listen for me so who knows? Science Fell in Love could be a challenge for the actors, considering how quick and technical the show can be.

Awesome news, I have the complete Nadesico series and movie on dvd but then went out of print when ADV went under, I'm glad that FUNI is getting those older anime series that are long out of print because trying to get those are running big $$$$

Ah Kimba the White Lion, a classic anime. I used to watch the old series plus the updated additions.

I guess Youtube algorithm finally got something right for this recommendation of a BERSERK supercut which combined the 1997 and 2012 move triliogy into an 8 hr worthy binge. The link is down below.

April 11 is when we get the next season of Kaguya-sama: Love is War. :D

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...image-promo-unveils-april-11-premiere/.157091

And Funimation keeps adding new stuff. They've now got the Monogatari seasons available on their site.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...ds-monogatari-series-anime-to-catalog/.157049

Hopefully this means the chance at getting them on video here for a decent price. While Aniplex does sell direct, their prices tend to cause a bit of sticker shock.
