What about a shaded material that color changes/shades based on power/weapon usage? For example: 1. DPS - toon slowly starts glowing red more and more as damage is being put out. As damage stops, the color fades, as more damage is done, the color grows with more intensity. 2. Healer - similar to DPS, but exchange color with green. More healing equals brighter green, less healing equals return to normal. 3. Troll - blue or whatever color represents troll . . . 4. Tank - i don't know, pick a color based on damage coming in.
