    So am I contributing to the problem when I tank in this scenario I pop group immunity so the rooted dps don't get juggled? What a waste of power.

    spoken like a guy who never tanked or has a clue. sorry bud but that opinion is so way off base. fire tanks can juggle ads keeping damage off them and allowing the free room to pull. juggle tanking is one of the two tanking styles the power was designed for. used since day one. earth tanks have to pull and at times re pull thanks to the woderfull targeting system and the single pull. atop of two pulls to do their jobs they now have to pass power to brick. cant remember but i think besides totem earth has two moves that help brick. you know the new pet tanking machanics so useing those powers is the design. the low amount of power and the reuse of pulls cause all the trolls who stun ads so far away is a huge killer. rage bud you need to toss a move to start rage crash then pull and then advoid rage crash then you atleast have to use the backdraft version rage has, and most of the time by now you got something strolling away so its back to rage bringer. ice well bud i know longer care about this power because you need no skill at all to be a good ice tank.

    dont get me wrong some tanks get a tiny bit out of control but if you cant keep a tank powered as a troll you might wanna try tanking cause your troll skill are lacking.

    ive never one time clipped while fire tanking and have beaten nexus and prime b4 i was tuff enough to live through everything. i have had plenty of complaments and can expect a number of invites when new hard content hits dcuo

    Sometimes an ice tank needs to do multiple pulls before it pulls properly and this can drain the bar

    I'm an Alert Tank I try to keep my power at about 50% when fighting bosses however when I'm fighting adds I like to do the following powers Backdraft Enflame and then Whirwind attack. Here's my mindset if the controller isn't stunning the adds to make it easier to fight the adds I like to control the adds with my Dom through juggling now if a troller is controlling the adds I will stick to weapon attacks and random pulls however you will find me at Zero power its cause I'm trying to get a feat like in League Hall Alert.

    My Dom at current is 3080 and I find it very well to control the adds in the League Hall Alert. Dominance must always be higher than the Targets Will Power to control the adds better. I may not have the top dom out of Tanks now a days but I like to try to have the highest Dom possible that I can muster.

    I just hit them once with an obvious pull every few seconds and then wait for them to come back to me. That's often wasted power, because I never actually dropped aggro in the first place. But it gets rid of a lot of those complaints.

    If I'm getting dumb criticism because people think you have to keep hitting constantly with powers to hold attention, I'll just leave a group that bad rather than put up with back-seat tanking nonsense.

    Backdraft will taunt them. You don't also need an AoE power for that.

    If you have a rotation for tanking, that's not helping. Fire tanks who focus on a regular rotation can waste a lot of power. Treat every use of a power as a precious resource. Don't use it if you can survive by blocking or countering instead.

    its because a lot of tanks have not figured out yet that if you use a weapon mastery combo with your pulls or self heals you use way less power the info is there in the wm combo info it tells you what the benefits are for each role

    for example when i troll i use wm with my power outs because it costs me way less power so i can send out much more power and i get power crits from wm attacks that give even more power, healers also get heal crits from wm and use much less power to cast if they use it and tanks power cost goes way down when using wm but sadly most people don't bother to read the info and just spam away all their power then get mad at the troll because he can't keep up with the insane amounts of power they use

    weapon mastery is not just about damage and people need to learn this so go into where you put your sp and look at the wm combo you use and read the info on the side

    It is rough to learn anything in the queued content now. You can practice a lot of tanking skills by finding strong enemies in the open world. There are clowns and chemoids over at Ace Chemicals that are very challenging for a CR55 tank to fight, because they're supposed to be T4 enemies. I used to practice pulling one of them away to fight, kiting them, and similar tank skills. In T3 gear, each one of them is like a mini-boss battle.

    You won't learn how to interact with a healer or controller that way, but those are not the hardest parts of learning how tank in this game. This thread started complaining about tanks who can't manage their power. Fighting a strong enemy by yourself, so you have to survive on your own, is a great way to learn how to survive as a tank without a lot of power.

    actually I do know tanking I have a CR104-CR107 ice tank, I know tanks dont have much power, but at the same time it doesnt take much power to be effective either. If you know how to play the power JS

    With a good healer, I can pull off more wm combos and manage my own power bar more effectively than if Im fighting for my life just to stay alive.

    Team dynamics are sometimes difficult to understand, especially in pickup groups ....and Ive seen a lot of tanks, controllers and healers get unfairly blamed for failed raids when the dps is to blame and vice versa. Theres a reason why its called a team and this is why finding a good, active league is so vitally important when approaching the end game.

    I use brawling Tap-Hold into - Earth shields & Groundpound, Fire BD & Stoke Flames, Ice reflection , & Rage's ragemode.

    Just my style. I like to be efficient as possible. Gain that attitude from solo'ing alot. Maintaining what I have without reliance on someone else.

    well depends on play style if u like to block alot more then sure why not...if u like to be alot more flexible then u need to use ur hots

    I like to use part of Fires AM while tanking. Jump into a group of adds and pop BD then go into Flame Cascade every 4-5 seconds. Costs no power and is a great juggle. I find this really nice is boss fights like in Zam. You can jump into the air and pop some of the adds that port behind the group. It will juggle them which gives your team time to move plus get them coming back to you.

    Hey guys.. i have a rage tank twink and my power consumption is too high but ill try to explain why.

    - many adds=> i try to keep them on one spot so DPS can do their job more effective
    - many high dmg adds(LW in one piece feat f.e.) => i have to use mass pull more often to get a bigger health pool(up to 65k health) to survive hits
    - rage crash => need 2-3 powers at the same time to restore my health quickly
    - power pool of tanks are really low

    this are the most reasons for using that high power
