"Bosses in Halls of Power Part I content now drop Marks of Fury and Symbols of Power in equal amounts"

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I interpret it is a boss will drop, say 2 marks of Fury and 2 symbols of Power. Won't this just end up being the same as all the other tiers in terms of keeping the DLC relevant if this hits live? Sure, we can't buy everything on day 1, but we'll still be able to power through the tier if marks and symbols are dropping at the exact same rate wont we?

I was hoping we'd see Symbols drop half as frequently as MoF

i think this is still appropriate.

I think the real irony lies in the reason for the change to how marks are treated because according to you the old way "cheapens" the dlcs. The same result comes from the use of replay badges in the first week to get all the gear. But when it comes to dlcs being "cheapened" you seem to turn the other cheek when it is making you money.......

I just finished Security Breach. Let me try to explain how the system works.

    Boss 1 Rewards:
    1 Mark of Fury
    1 Symbol of Power
If you don't receive a loot reward, you receive an extra Mark of Fury

    Boss 2 Rewards:
    1 Mark of Fury
    1 Symbol of Power
If you don't receive a loot reward, you receive an extra Mark of Fury

    Boss 3 Rewards:
    3 Mark of Fury
    3 Symbols of Power
If you don't receive a loot reward, you receive an extra Mark of Fury

    To summarize:
You receive 5 Symbols of Power per alert run. This is guaranteed and doesn't change with loot.
You receive 5 Marks of Fury at a minimum per alert run. If you don't receive a loot drop from a boss, you receive an extra Mark of Fury.

The Symbol of Power requirement for Halls of Power gear is set to be exactly half of what the Mark of Fury cost. If a Hall of Power weapon costs 70 Mark of Fury, 35 Symbol of Power will be required too. If you're just running the new 4 man content, that means it will take 3.5 days to earn enough Symbols of Power for the piece.

    much better. thank you.

are you planning to go back and retro-fit the older DLC content with the same structure?

ie. Central City gear costs MoT + small amount of Marks of Momentum also. T3 gear is MoT + small amount of Marks of Krypton, T4 is MoT + Marks of War and so on? this would be nice and help combat tier skipping also.

I'd rather get an extra symbol of power instead of MOF if we don't get a piece of gear from the bosses .

How so? Now you have two choices...

Run DLC 11 Alert 12 times -> Buy Gear, OR
Run DLC 11 Alert 6 times + Run DLC 10 Alert 6 times -> buy gear

Run DLC 11 Raid 6 times -> buy gear, OR
Run DLC 11 Raid 3 times + Run DLC 10 Alert 6 times -> buy gear, OR
Run DLC 11 Raid 3 times + Run DLC 11 Alert 6 times -> buy gear

You have to run DLC 11 content a minimum amount of times. Even with the capacity to run DLC 10 content, it's still running roughly the same amount of content. It's not like we're so overgeared that we'll be getting our DLC 10 content done at a faster marks-per-minute rate.

    Main Point Here
In addition to that, didn't I hear the best gear for DLC 11 was dropped in the raids, not bought by marks? That means this model has no affect at all on the rate you'll get the best gear. It sounds to me like you're being grumpy just for the sake of being grumpy and you're not taking the time to think about your opinions.

I'm not sure how you arrived at that conclusion.

Let me add a few details to "Sore's Main Point":
-The drop rate for gear in the new 8 man content is pretty lousy. Some members in my Test Server league group have gone several runs without seeing any gear drop. It has always been extra Marks of Fury for them.
-The stat difference between vendor and 8 man drops is minimal. For Damage role, most raid pieces typically only have +7 Precision and +30 Might over the vendor version.
-I doubt anyone is going to finish the Lockdown raid - the one that drops the Op Necklace - unless they are in a really good group.

I'm going to use the vendor equipment to fill in the holes in my raid equipment. I also plan on completing the style feat. There is a minimum amount of Halls of Power content I'll have complete to accomplish those goals. That is going to take a while if I don't use replay badges.

I think they need to change it to if you don't get loot then you get a Symbol of Power as well. With this way its going to come down to us having 60 Mof but only 25-27 SoP to purchase a gear piece.

Some times people just don't read. It's not the same to say nice and awesome. The idea is nice and acceptable, thanks MEPPS. I hope stays like in the OP, ill be grateful

There is none, they just want to have the gear as fast as possible with the least amount of work.

Did you not ask for the cap to be raised? I response was directed at that.

No, it's very well thought out, most people just aren't thinking long term. Going by past mistakes by the dev's, usually the last feat achieved is the gear bought with marks. This new method makes it easier to achieve that style in a much faster way or route. Granted the raid gear is the high end stuff which is great news. Once you finish everything out of the alerts and get all the SOP gear... It'll just be another content for running raids once a week then never bothering again unless there are more weapon styles to buy with SOP. I always think long term. SOT, WOL, AF... all "good but fast" dlc's. They weren't meant to hold anybody over past a month, or in SOT and WOL's instance, a week. Now BFE and OC.... Took forever to finish and I'm still working on OC because I've been extremely unlucky. HOP is the closest dlc to BFE and OC we've seen in a year... Now were going to be burning through the grind for the gear that quick?

Now I know replay badges change a lot of things, but I'm talkin in terms of no replay badges and running content daily. Remember when t4 came out and we only got 13-14 marks a week? Then replays came out shortly after that. Was no big hoopla or anything of that matter. I want content to last, not grind 3 hours a day and be done with 90-100% of the dlc in less than a month.

Read above. I want long term.

Ehh, troll somewhere else? Or atleast add to the conversation.

How about marks of Time. You can only buy one set with them though
