Survival Mode...

hey guy's I actually was looking forward to playing my first ever survival mode. The first time I saw survival mode was the very first time I started playing.. player's needed to have a cr 100 to play. I had just started and was anxious to see what survival was about

After falling in love with the game but couldn't subscribe since I'm in Argentina and right now I'm going through college. I gathered 200 pesos and gave it to my cousin living in Florida to get me a $20 PSN ( the place I used to live too). I did this 2 more times til my cousin told me, He couldn't right now since he's tight with money at the moment so I understood and told him no problem.

I finally was able to get 6 dlc's. Which I could gradually raise my cr to 100 and maximum 103. Well I missed the trigon survival cause I moved to a different home and was out of wifi for the month of october and november. I learned each of the role's and with time I got good in Tanking, healing and Trolling...(DPS is my last role I need to learn)

When I heard Survival is coming soon I got all hyped ready to finally play Survival and to my surprise the minimum cr requirement is 111. So I will never get a chance to play survival I guess not until I finish college and get a well stable job and can sign up for a debit card but by then and how fast the content is coming it'll be a requirement of atleast cr 130 or 140.

Hall of power's, Amazon fury 1 and 2, War of the light 2, I love dcuo it's my all time favorite past time. I'm premium and I understand the marketing ideas of soe and I've never complained once except for this new splitting dlc content but that's another story.

Well I guess I just wanted to express how I felt all hyped and now I'm just down. I hope you guy's and gal's have a great time in survival though

Survival Mode will always require a CR that is close to the current max, that's just the nature of it. A few points difference in CR can be the difference between surviving an attack and not surviving it, and you pretty much need as much survivability as you can possibly get to hope to complete some of it.

But I don't get it why can't they just make the time for people who are also cr 100. Also like many people say CR doesn't make the player. Some are level 111 or more and they're no better than a player that's cr100. The dev's should know that by now.

I don't like to rush I like taking my time learning my role becoming a good player so I don't cripple the group. I've seen level 111 or more go down fast. I was cr 80 when I realized that cr doesn't make the player it's the way you know your role and how you use the power tree of your selected power

Survival Mode is designed to exclude people. It's primary function is bragging rights.

SM should always require a high cr rating to get in. The last 1 was low at 100. Since then we have almost finished 3 dlcs and t6. IIRC the max cr was 108 when trigon sm was out. That means the requirement for trigon sm was 8 points below max cr. This is time its 111 while max cr is 116 and imo thats fair. Thers a reason for this. Going in there at say 108 u would be getting carried. No1 should ever be getting carried in SM. The devs have stated SM will always be the most challenging piece of content. Its meant to be really hard and should only be letting the players who have geared up in there.

People are getting 1shotted in round 3 at 113cr. So what do u think would happen to u at 103?

I missed out on the last Survival Mode because my friends went AWOL due to boredom thanks to an unfulfilling DLC that left us with nothing to do after a month's worth of playing.

I'm probably going to miss this one, too, which is a shame as I think the style is cool (always thought the Controllers got the best style of the 4 Kryptonian ones) and the unique item from 11-20 seems really good, too. I want one

The reason I'll be missing it this time is because I have even less friends on now compared to the 3 I had during Trigon's Prison SM. I also have no league and I refuse to pay for DLC13/Subscribe out of protest to the handling of loot so there's basically no chance of me getting picked up. Not that I'd want to be in a PUG for SM... not after last time... eww...

Hopefully one day I'll have found a nice home in game, where the players don't quit every other month and will finally be able to thoroughly enjoy a Survival Mode. I got to Round 5 of the first Survival Mode and it was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in the game since I beat Nexus for the first time when it came out.

I ain't saying let us be carried I'm saying atleast they should re enlist the other two survival mode's if people miss out on them so they also get a chance to play. maybe I'm wrong maybe it's tough luck and the dev's don't want to move a finger. But thats my opinion. I hate being carried.

The other two will return eventually, but they will have their CR requirements adjusted to be around whatever is the then highest CR available. Their plan is to eventually to have Survival Mode available at all times, much like Legends PVE, so that when they have enough maps they can just swap one out for another.

I don't understand why they can't emulate their PvP feature and boost lower CR players stats to the minimum CR requirement. That way everyone gets to play. I understand it is high end content; but there is no need to exclude certain players. Majority of the gaming community is not even fully T5 yet.

SM is for just that, the elitest in the game. That is why it is saved for the highest tiered players. You know we will see SM group with 115 CR and 200+ SP groups in LFG...

First time I wouldn't mind to miss out on SM.xD
I hope the base items can change that.

And I hope ppl on test do some testing and not only style vids. (ye ye I know there are good testers on the server, I just get the impression that most ppl jump on there for youtube fodder than other things)

Survival Mode was specifically designed for Skilled End game level players and the styles are incentives for the said players as well as bragging rights.

Like I said, elitist. The few, not the many.

I know many 113+ players will probably try it and never make it out of round 1. I tried the first two only to end up with groups that had no idea what they were doing. We wiped time and time again. I was normally one of the last to go down and always tried to do pick ups.

SM should have a repair bot available after each boss fight or reduce the damage that is done when you go down.

I can see it now though, Rage Tanks and Nature healers probably being the primary toons called for but with 200 SP. LOL

Why not just bring back all the survival modes for the cr levels they were set gives people leveling up a chance to test their skill or even for top tier people that want to try a new role or power a way to actually test their skill.

I sympathize with you. I missed the last survival mode, and now have caught back up with the game.

Survival mode will always be intended to be endgame CR lvl. Why they didnt do a 107CR requirement minimum is beyond me because 107 is the minimum for end game content right now.

I hope you will be able to make the next survival mode.

SM is for people who are at max CR already, not people who still have work to do on their toons to progress. If you're low CR you can still test your skill on the real game content.

The latest one I agree but why create content that is used once and tossed away?

If you're referring to the Survival Mode itself in the latter part, it won't be. They've said that ultimately the plan is to build tech which allows the rounds to last forever with the only inevitability being failure. They've also said that as they build more, they'd like to keep one up at all times.

The older ones will be returning in the future.

Its not. The old SMs will return, but when they do the CR will be increased to close to whatever the "current' max tier is at.
