Don't be sorry. The answer to your question is that emblem is not currently available. That's really all that needed to be said, but the DCUO forum community is not the world's finest.

This might be the most short sighted answer I've ever seen here. Whether you had a supes style character at the time or not, if you ARE the type to cos-play toons, why not get any iconic emblem that came out, especially one that doesn't cost real life money? Besides the fact, I believe, this emblem carried a feat and small amount of SP, so it would be worth getting for that...it was well advertised as limited time and didn't really cost much even in Source Marks anyway.

I'm not a cos-player, and wouldn't ever worry about having some comics accurate emblem or style...but I'd never let one slip by that I know I MIGHT have a need of later....even if it DIDN'T carry a feat. There are a few styles I had picked up of the years, that later I was happy I had if I was playing a bit of dress up. I'd think for a cos-player...an emblem is 100% one of those 'better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it' things.

If you weren't playing the game at the time(either time that is), I'd be way more empathetic to your issue...but as it sounds like you were playing, I kind of want to say 'welp' and move along.

And hey....it was supposed to be gone for good years ago...and it came back for 6 months 'last chance' purchase. Maybe if enough people who missed THAT last chance make enough noise, we'll get another 'last LAST FINAL (for real this time) chance' in a year or 2. Hopefully you'll have a supes toon running then so you'll have some reason to buy it still.:p Good luck.

Right. Most of this is redundant.

However, none of it addresses my other points, which is apparently nothing is stopping them from making comics-inspired Superman emblems or recoloring existing styles that are in the game. Like the Fallen God and House of El styles. Just release new versions of those styles that make it possible to recolor the emblems to red and yellow. Done.

I now understand, thanks to that other poster, that Daybreak does not have the rights to make emblems based on the movies. So the BvS stuff will never come back. And that's fine.

Incorrect. EVERYTHING regarding the House of El/Superman Emblem is strictly controlled by DC Comics, and the contract between DC Comics (the Licensor) and Daybreak Games (the Licensee) lays out exactly what Daybreak Games can and cannot do, and when. DC Comics allows them ZERO say on what they can do with that Emblem and the styles that display it.

Your complaints and requests would, therefore, probably be more effective if directed to DC Comics, rather than Daybreak Games.

"That other poster" was probably me. I'm the one that laid out why the BvS stuff can't come back.

you don't need house of el emblem, there is house of el war suit and fallen god style, both come with full size house of el emblem. plus the superman emblem are too small to begin with, it just look weird on character, IMO iconic style works better than the official emblem.

Actually, no. I got that info from that YouTuber that posted in this thread, Multiverse is their name. Just scroll up and look at all the info they posted.

I have no idea who you are, other than someone who is kind of a jerk and is patronizing to everyone you respond to.

That content creator literally said that Daybreak has the rights to create styles from the comics but not the movies. Unless they are incorrect, that's where I was getting my info from.

We were told a few times by Spylte or Mepps that DCUO has the rights to use characters or stories from the comics.
They did not have to the rights to use characters or stories from...
    the movies....
    the TV shows...
the Animated series or Animated movies.

So for a long time..... DCUO could not use Batman Beyond for example.

But then.... there was a loophole.

At some point DC created the comic Future's End with......
    Batman Beyond.
So that allowed DCUO to give us a Batman Beyond style in DCUO seeing how there was a new version of Batman Beyond in the DC Comics.

As for the Superman Movie emblem....
they cannot give us the movie emblem...
    but....
they could give us the Kingdom Come emblem from the comics???
and if the emblem is not color locked... we could make it like the movie emblem?? maybe??

    I guess we shall see.

As for the Shuster lawsuit..... kind of hard to know how it could affect DCUO.

If DCUO pays a flat fee for the DC rights..... the Shuster lawsuit will probably not affect DCUO??

But if DC needs to write a check to the Shusters whenever they use anything Superman related....
Warner will probably not want to write checks to the Shusters.....????

Sadly we don't really know the specifics of the DC license for DCUO....
and we do not know if the Shuster get some payments directly or indirectly from DCUO.
If they do get some payment from DCUO....
Warner will probably want to put an end to that for as long as there is the lawsuit??

I guess we will have to wait and see. :I

Me? I'm just someone that's been playing the game, AND PARTICIPATING IN THESE FORUMS, since 2012. And I've read and participated in lots of threads discussing the game's most requested Iconic Styles, including Superman styles and Batman styles. I've seen the Devs (chiefly Mepps when he was our main point of contact) explain time and time and time again what the deal is with the Superman Emblem.

But you know what? By all means, DO NOT take my word for it. Use the SEARCH BOX ON THE FORUM to SEARCH for Topics about the Superman Emblem. Go into each and every one and read every single post. Pay special attention to posts made by Mepps and the other Green Names. If you don't already know, those with Green Names are the game's Developers, the people on the inside that know what's going on behind the scenes with the contracts that Daybreak Games has in place with DC Comics. You'll discover soon enough that I'm telling you the truth.

And that's enough posting in this thread. Since I'm such a "jerk", y'all go on discussing your desires that will never be fulfilled to your heart's content. :p
