superman emblem

i created a superman style character and was wondering where the emblem was. i thought i'd see it in booster gold vendor just wanted to make sure where it is exactly.

If you mean the Superman Anniversary emblem.... it was available only for a limited time.

There are the General Time Capsule Emblem that could work for a Superman character.

This is the most request item in the game, by far. I'm holding out hope (no pun intended) that they will release a new emblem for the new Superman movie coming out this summer.

DC and WB are doing a Summer of Superman marketing campaign so I'm hoping that extends to DCUO as well.

Didn't you have all of last summer to spend the 100 sm to buy this. Also if you bought it on a alt it's free to unlock. I remember the did give us a chance to buy this emblem over a long period. And it was recently. Not gonna say never because how they did just bring it back so just any more attention to stuff that is labeled limited time because alot of stuff is this way

Yeah, whenever a "Superman-style character" ends up in a PUG raid with me, trying to tank with Heat Vision and Frost Breath, I always appreciate it more, if they have the correct emblem...

The logic here would be if someone didn't have marks from survival mode than they could not get it.

Most of the emblem complaints stem from this, the fact that they were not playing when these things were available.

It was 100 Source Marks.

SM = Source Marks. Nothing to do with Survival mode. Although I would have LOVED seeing groups of cosplayers trying to beat Survival Mode for the dumb emblem...

It wasn’t even a survival mode emblem. Y’all had over half a year to purchase the emblem for 100 source marks at Tempus Fuginaut. There’s really no excuse because the item was listed as limited and will not be available in the vendor after 2024. The only excuse you can make is that you’re returning to the game but even then it’s still was a limited time reward. So if they ever bring back the item it’s probably gonna cost you money.

Pretty sure it was 2023 because I was playing all of last year and it was not available.

I came back to the game early last year, and that's when I found out the emblem was available in 2023 for most of the year. I wish I was playing back then, but I wasn't. So I missed the opportunity to get it.

All I'm asking for is a new emblem for the new Superman movie coming out, which is the most hyped movie of the summer, maybe even the year.

Heck, even if they could release another version of the Fallen God or House of El style with the option to re-color the emblem to red and yellow, that'd be great, too. Those are styles already in the game.

It's stupid that these items are limited. I play Star Trek Online as well, Cryptic (and now DECA) has to, similarly, get clearance from Paramount before they release any new ships, uniforms and content. Yet you can get the most iconic ships in Star Trek, like the Enterprise, at a very low level. Almost every iconic ship and uniform is available in-game because that's what Star Trek fans want. And Paramount is cool with that.

But for some reason, Warner Bros. doesn't allow DC's most iconic styles to be available in-game permanently. It's dumb.

The emblem came back in 2023.



As for the Superman Movie emblem.... DCUO does not have the rights to use styles from the movies.
They have the rights to use styles from the Comics.
So.... they could use the Kingdom Come Superman emblem??.... maybe???

Although with the Superman lawsuit..... probably not likely to happen??

To be blunt? Those emblems are the money-makers for DC, and as such they will take whatever measures they feel are necessary to protect the use of those emblems. Whatever their reasoning is, it doesn't have to make a lick of sense to us and they really aren't obligated to explain those reasons if they don't want to.

Yes, they're popular. Yes, they're highly requested. But DC/Warner Brothers/whoever else is in charge gets final say in when and how stuff is used in the game. Heck, at the start of auras coming into the game, they wouldn't allow green auras, so you can imagine how well that went over with hero-side Light players when a yellow-ish aura WAS available.

Obviously they've changed their stance since then, so there is a chance they might change their minds again. But when it comes to the Superman emblem in particular, they always have been and will likely continue to be VERY protective of that piece of the IP.

Well it was a mistake year but the point still stands. It was a limited time emblem.

Interesting tidbit about the devs not having the rights to use the film styles. That explains why the BvS swag bag was yanked unexpectedly and has never been back, and is likely never coming back. This is the first explanation I've heard as to why that happened and it really sheds some light on it. So, thanks for that. Usually people just post, "WB pulled it and that's it." I always like, WHY? So, again, thanks for the info. Finally.

As to the other point about the devs having the rights to the styles from the comic, that makes it even more perplexing to me why they haven't released a comics-style Superman emblem. I would LOVE the Kingdom Come style. It's basically the Subject Zero emblem, except the latter is missing one of the borders on the side.

If Daybreak has the rights to use styles from the comics then there really is no excuse to not have a comics-styled Superman emblem available in the game. No excuse whatsoever. It means they could have done it at literally anytime because, according to you, it's not a rights issue. It's a Daybreak issue.

Unless as you said, it's because of the Superman lawsuit. I'm not familiar with that. Do you have any info?

But this looks a lawsuit involving exploitation in foreign territories. Not sure how that would impact having the emblem DCUO. Other than the fact that DCUO is available in Europe and (I believe) Australia.

If I remember correctly, he appeared for the episode "The Death of Superman", which was during the 80th anniversary, and for the 85th he was reintroduced for 6-12 months.
Since he has a feat associated with him, it is most likely that for the 90th or 95th or 100th anniversary, he will return for a few months.

To keep a looong story short.....

According to UK Law they would not have the rights to use Superman in the UK... Australia.....
..... and Canada.

Also.... DC has been in courts with the Shusters a few times.

One of the reason for the NU52 was for DC to make a different Superman in case they lost the Lawsuit at the time for the Superman rights. They tried to make the NU52 Superman different enough so that it would not be part of the original copyright.
But when the case was settled..... the NU52 Superman died and somehow the Classic Superman was back.

Also..... seeing how the Shusters are suing them once more.....
DC probably does not want to give the Shusters a BiG fat check to help them pay their Lawyers.

Since DC pretty much has to give a BiG fat check to the Shusters whenever they use Superman.....
They probably don't want to have DCUO use Superman and then send a BiG phat check tot he Shusters.

You, and everyone else that wanted it, actually had 2 chances to obtain it. For both the 80th Anniversary Year, and the 85th Anniversary Year. Both times it was available for about 6 months of that year. If you missed it both times, that's on YOU. There were even threads here in the Forums stating clearly that it was available and that you needed to grab it if you wanted it! It was announced on the DCUO website. Not only that, but even if you weren't playing and weren't logging into the Forums, you should have received announcement emails telling you it was available in-game, and all the details therein.

There's really no valid excuse for anyone that played the game before it was offered. IF this current Dev Team remembers to get it set up for it to happen, the Emblem will most likely be offered again for the 90th Anniversary, in 2028. DO NOT MISS IT AGAIN!!!

Excuses are like buttholes: Everyone has one. Style Unlocking is still a thing, you should still have bought the Superman Anniversary Emblem for one of your characters, then you could just unlock it with Replay Badges on a Superman Inspired character once you created such a character.

And for the love of Gord, man, this is NOT text messaging! Learn how to type like a grown adult, for drok's sake! If you handed in a school assignment with that many grammatical errors on it, you'd get a well-deserved F, or at the very least a D-!
