Imagine if a lair unencumbered by Gotham, Metro or HoL's power grids and fueled by sunstone crystals severely limits amenity placement tho I'm hoping for extreme levels of placement and customization options... especially as there are no fixed interior walls (assumely). Yeah, I'm excited about the Fortress' potential. Good post.
Yes! I also hope that like with other recent base themes on the MP they release alongside it some kind of base item pack related to the Sunstone Lair Theme. Could include some base items like Sunstone Crystal Flooring/Roofing, some of the ones from Survival Mode, maybe the Xmas Seasonal, and then maybe some brand new base items also. Even if it doesn't have the above I will still get it, I just hope the interior of the base theme has enough areas to place base items on and doesn't become too much like the Cave lair theme, which is arguably one of the most difficult lair themes to be creative with.
I canceled my one-year subscription back in February (and to be honest, not because of the silence from the developers... it’s just that over the last couple of years, DCUO has offered very little new and even the quality and quantity of the old ones... is steadily decreasing... all the content has become very monotonous ...and the slightest innovations, although conceptually interesting...but poorly developed...), I honestly have little hope for the new DLC (most likely everything will follow the old well-trodden and damn monotonous pattern...)... new ally... the long-awaited green lantern... poorly balanced (like all allies...)... and boring... there is still hope for a new base... the mere fact that it will have a piece with open space, big a step ahead...even if the rest is just one room...it’s still a big innovation for base builders...so yes, I’m looking forward to the base...
I couldn't care less if they only used downtime or use it as practice for new hires to get into world-building. If it cuts dev-time which resulted in the 3rd time getting a Washington DC open-world map next episode, i would be annoyed. Will I use it? Maybe if its free. Will i buy it? No. I don't care enough about bases since the best looking items are locked behind seasonal event grinds which I wouldn't touch even if the existence of humanity depended on it (once the feats are done of course).
