I love DCUO so (or Hera.. whichever) please please PLEASE STOP KICKING PEOPLE THAT WANT TO LEARN THE INSTANCE!!!

ive seen so much on people that want to learn a new instance they are in and just due to their min/suggested CR people of "higher level" kick them out for not knowing said instance.... like....

    WTF

this makes no sense!! how do you expect them to LEARN something if you remove them from it. telling them get higher CR doesnt tell them how to learn jack diddly! sorry but needed to vent that as ive seen it happen way to many times and it quite frankly getting f%*#ing annoying.

Wait, I thought these people wanted CR relevant groups to experience the content, not to get carried by high CRs? Make your minds up

So tell us all...exactly what do they learn about mechanics after 400 deaths, thereby halting said raid from progressing at all, that the rest of us missed?

no sarcasm but i thought the same but most of the time when a person of the correct CR level (min or suggested) comes in it like they give that person one shot if they wipe oops it that ones fault KICK!!

like how DARE that person enter an instance meant for their CR.... THE RUDENESS!!!

Well, some of us don't have all day for another player to try to learn the instance. What about my time? Sometimes, kicking an inexperienced player for someone more dependable in the situation is the only compromise for that. You want to learn something? You can't always have everything your way. THAT my friend is a valuable life lesson.

400?! theyed be lucky to get to 2 without being kicked be serious. and by what divne bloody right are we allowed to kick a person WHO IS ACTUALLY ALLOWED TO BE THERE? since usually when new content is released guess what it kicks even the top CR peoples teeth in and THEY have to learn it. why should a person of the PROPER CR have to come back when they are completely OP for the instance. its there FOR THEM to gear the NEXT challenges.

but no they should run the other stuff 100s of times over they can beat, build up the marks, they buy vendor gear, AND THEN run the content because thats teaching....

its one thing if a person KNOWS the stuff but still wont apply it over a person how actually wants to LEARN the stuff and do it. its like people only want easy street and forget they were their once.

Well, like the devs themselves have said, "Just because you can queue up, doesn't mean you should...".

this goes both ways but why not make your own group then? i mean they could but like i said it goes both ways. hell most times when the low CR person gets kicked its VERY often replaced with a person of the same or (better when karma kicks in) even LOWER CR.

    RNG is a B%^*( i know.
  10. Noble One Committed Player

then why not just make the CR requirement closer to the content.... i mean seriously for example the min for unholy mat is like 113 and the suggested is 134 but the mobs are bloody 150+? .....who thought that was a good idea? but its the 113s fault for joining yeah.

all im saying is if you have lowbies in the group, TEACH them and then if they cant grasp it well yeah kickem. but dont kick them after a wipe or 2 and teach them jack squat but saying "git gud!!" followed with a boot.

You basically just gave the answer you needed to your original question asked with your own question to my reply. "Why not make your own group then?" In that scenario, as you're the leader of the group, you would never have to worry about being kicked EVER. But, when you pug in random queues or are getting picked up by someone else who's forming the group, that's just the risk you're running. So, yes, in that aspect of it, it does work both ways. When we kick somebody, we all have our reasons for doing it. One can only tolerate but so much; you know?

some instance have requirements way lower than it should be because they changed it for some reasons. UM, flash museum duo, and DC alert to name a few. OP players can carry any noob through the duo and alert, but UM is another story. even if u know the mechanics ur gonna die in 1 shot from anything if u are at min cr there. not your fault, not their fault for kicking, its the system's fault.

but in all fairness tho, if u just random que for a low tier raid at min cr, dont expect to learn any mechanic. just hope there are OP players to carry, if not dont bother to try. random ppl with min cr trying to finish a low-mid tier raid will fail 90% of the time. just gear up through other ways and get back to it to get the feats after u are strong enough to breeze through it. is it ideal? ofc not, but its just the way the game works.

the game pretty much is a tutorial until u reach BN raid. don't bother to learn about low tier raids mechanic. its just a waste of time. you already reach UM, i bet u already have EO feat in dox, prime numbers feat in prime, scorpion egg feat in fos1, or the sniper and medic feat in fos3 right? without knowing what u actually have to do to get it. so, why bother learning UM mechanic now?

ppl say pvp is broken, but pve is just as broken, esp for new players.

Well if people keep up with gear they should be over the suggested CR when the content is released. The minimum is for alts to be dragged through by Leagues or friends, the suggested is really what you should have before even thinking about entering an instance, hence the quote from the devs.

If I was leveling an alt up today and got to 113 I would not be queuing for UM because I have respect for myself and respect for the 7 other players whose instance I'd be about to potentially ruin, there's plenty of other content to gear up from before going in there, why run before you can walk? I put work in before inflicting myself on randoms. But hey, that's just me.

Even if I take a break and come back and my main is behind, I'l get gear elsewhere before trying to go into the endgame raids. And when I eventually do, I'l inform the group that I'v just came back and never ran the raid before and is there anything specific I need to know, that usually gets instant respect. I can probably count on 1 hand how many times I'v see others say the same thing in the near 6 years I'v been playing. Outside of being behind, I teach myself mechanics and how powers and roles work, always have, I'v never asked for a handout in this game, ever, so I have little to no respect for those who do. Since the vast majority are also unwilling to take advice, I don't see it as my job to even bother.

People should learn by doing, but at least be geared enough to do the instance in the first place, just like everyone else was when they learned a specific raids mechanics. When AFIII comes in a few weeks, I'm CR ready and learning it myself is exactly what I'l be doing because that's how it should be done, why should anyone else do it differently?

which begs the question, of wheres the compromise?
  16. Ichiro Loyal Player

Sadly the mindset of the majority of the community is to either kick or otherwise abuse other players.

I believe in two ways to play.

If you blind queue you role with what you got. If you make or join a group on certain criteria then you perform or leave.

Unfortunately the only way to get into low tier content is to blind queue. no one wants to run tier 1 - 7 at level anymore, not there are a lot of toons at level anyways.

Was this a pug group? Was it a premade group?
If a pug group, time is spent in the instance, and fairly soon others will know who's using an alt and who's not. If it's a pug. Not all of them in pugs (random Que) are willing to spend 3x the amount of time it would take to do one instance with learning players in the amount of time they could complete 3 or 6 more instances after kicking someone and completing the instance. If its a premade, that's messed up.

Here is my simple rule, If your not slowing everyone down and you have you are in instance chat than no kick. I have no problem for those who want to learn but you got to help your self out an get into instance chat so I can explain it to you.

You're right, Roll. It's too one-sided to be a compromise. Let's say "solution" for us in the group that just want to finish the instance immediately and go about our day.
