So i logged in today after the recent thread about Steel is BS and decided to do a few matches one after another solo queing. This was the resulting video no editing was done except the info between each match. Hopefully SoE can get legends balanced. Also note how little clipping i actually had to do and how little i used his channel and how little i died. This was only the 2nd day I actually understood how his powers work from just reading some forum stuff.
Working as intended = said the new pug player who can now mix it with the vets with 2 years exp.. Arena is the exact same way with the pet spamming atm. But yeah Hal and steel need slight tone down or increase on cooldowns. ergo - low skilled and fresh players can spam buttons and beat players of skill and or 2 years exp without trying = fix this SOE and put it back to SKILL as that's what KEEPS your players pvping. If you keep catering to this current mentality then that's what this game will be and the mindset the scrubs will adopt, the same way as gadgets dps is so quick and fast and bursty- thats what players will use and do as why bother with anything else. But when a vet uses these things - get called cheaters.
Used to be tons of old posts about Steel. Litterally have to do nothing but pop a few skills, throw sheild up. Maybe block once and you'll win xP It's pretty lame lol.
He is just broken and needs to be fixed or else if they have a tourney for vegas this year we will see nothing but steels. Lots of bad but a good steel is just busted.
Quite honestly if you are truly a good player you'll win regardless. I've been able to kill steel with every character on the roster and half the time its easy. I am a firm believer its the player and not the legend. Steel can be killed just as any other legend. None are invincible or impervious. All in the player. If you believe otherwise, you might need to find another game.
Player does have something to do with it but the amount of dmg steel can do compared to others is very big. Other legends have to clip like a nut to pull off the dmg steel does. And if you don't know how to play steel you can waste power and become useless. In this video i hardly have to clip anything other then colas and trinkets and that alone is massive compared to the other legends that have to clip like a maniac to pull off the same killing power.
Its posts like this that ruin the game it gets things nerfed .I've smacked steel around with robin so I guess robin must be op as well ? Nothing to do with my skill ? or the person controlling steels?
I've smacked around bad Steel players too. That doesn't mean that he's not balanced. It just means I've run into bad players. Read carefully the nuances of the criticism about Steel. It's about his ability to ignore certain patterns of the RPS system. This can take a bad player and make him adequate, and a good player can abuse the heck out of the character.
I do around the same damage with all characters, which is around 45k on short 2v2s and around 85 k on longer 2v2s. Even while doing heavy clipping with steel, it turns up same damage. Me (batman) and my teammate Harley were only one kill away from beating these 2 steels in batcave . Sure we didn't win but those steels were also fairly good skill wise and my teammate was average. Steel is just a nub destroyer. Please explain
Steel is fine. What's worse are teammates who do not know how to play. I did as much damage as two Steel's on the other team (they were in the same league too) but my teammates contributed about a fifth of what I did, and ran around wondering why no one was attacking them becuase the entire team was focus firing me. In strategic maps, such as Ace and Arkham, there is so much more going on than DPS. There are far worse things in this game than Steel's supposed 'OPness'....
I have never experienced a problem playing against Steel. I knock him out just as much as I knock out players using other characters.
Maybe I have to spell it out for players so they can understand a bit better about what i am talking about. I know this might be hard for some but forget about scorecards for a second. Forget how amazing you are at other legends for a second. Now watch the video i posted. In this thread and watch the Damage that is coming from the Hammer throw and the Mine, including the first big hit on top of the fact that positioned right they will hit more then 1 person and they stack. Now go through all the other legends in our roster and you find 1 legend that can stack 2 powers like steel has and put up the same numbers for the same power cost and not be vul to any counter. Anyone who is good at a legends toon can put up the same dmg out or close to the same dmg out on the score card the issue is how effective they are at doing it. Steel uses WAY less power to kill MULTIPLE players at the same time and quicker then any other legend. Him being OP has nothing to do with how good you are at killing him and has to do with the fact 2 of his powers stacked is enough to just about slaughter a group of players. On top of him not really needing to do any real combos or clips. It is all about the multiple players he can hit and cause the same dmg to all players hit at the same time. No other legend can pull off the same dmg he does vs more then 1 target at the same exact time with 2 powers. Having 2+ steels in any match is actually more of a waste of power if you are not communicating because the dots from same powers don't stack on the same player, it would be like having 2 nature dot dps in a raid you would be overwritting powers. Seriously i urge all who think he is fine to watch this video watch the yellow dmg numbers coming off and you tell me how that is balanced to other legend powers?
