Space and Time - The Quantum Guide Part II

Singularity is no longer my armor debuff of choice. It can work against a tank who is corralling adds. Also, it can move the Artifact in Necro. With Time Shift as armor debuff now I don't see much use for Singularity. The Quantum AM revamp made Quantum Controlling even better. I barely spec into Space tree.

    Very informative Absolix, thank you.

In arenas I like to go space tree for the neat effects; grav for grounding, warped reality and singu mostly, then padding out with defensive powers and an sc. I noticed that singularity never seemed to snag barrels like I remember mental's TK would; does it not do the attract effect on objects? Good to know that I can ignore heal debuffs now. Were debuff effects in PvE nerfed as well or are those still decently contributing?

Great work again. I have some things in the pipes that will be useful to the Quantum community.

In Necro all I had to do was switch out Gravitonic Field as my PoT move for Tachyon Blast. The Polarized PI, which is what causes objects like the artifact to move, only applies if an enemy is Graviton-Charged, so if you avoid using Gravitonic Field, Alcurbierre Wave, or Warped Reality then Polarized won't be applied.

By "grav" do you mean Gravity Well, because in arenas Gravity Well is nerfed to 41.67% it's normal damage.

The Polarized PI is what causes objects to be attracted, similar to Telekinesis, but it only applies if Singularity of Gravity Bomb are used on an enemy that id Graviton-Charged.

In PvE the debuffs are just as strong as ever, the update fortunately only touched PvP.

    Glad I could help.

I didn't notice any mention of a damage cap in the main guide, so that might be worth talking about at some point.

No, I mean Gravitonic Field. I like it because it's cheap, causes grounding and is available when Warped Reality is on cd. I will still be testing this again, but I did not see the attract effect when applying PI and using singu in pvp arenas.

Thanks for catching that. I added both that and what happens when Time Bomb misses to the Advanced Mechanics section.

    Nice Work!!!

Warped Reality applies the PI reliably enough to not need another PI power and the PI tends to actually last past WR's cooldown. As far as grounding power I either use the movement tree powers as they're or Einstein's Ray to counter kiters.

What is the most efficient weapon and tactical mods to use?
  10. Absolix Loyal Player

Brawling is the current favorite as it's tap range hold range has 7 hits, and also Brawling has the fastest power regen of any weapon.

2H does more damage, Arrow Storm Mastery has 5 hits, and while it's power regen isn't as high as brawling, but it is higher than most weapons.

DW does the most damage with Explosive Shot Mastery, and gets 5 hits, but less damage if you need the extra power regen. It's power regen is the same as most weapons.

For tactical mods Escalating Replenishing Procs is the one that affects trols the most. The power crit boost will always be useful regardless of how high or low your stats are, and the others don't offer near as much usefulness.

The weapon is typically better to take Replenishing Adapter, but if you don't have trouble powering a group you can choose the Absorption Adapter if you feel you would like the extra protection.

You can put Max Damage in the hands for more damage. If you are using Time Bubble you can use Regenerative Shielding.

I typically don't take the feet mods that regenerate power when you use a specific aspect of your movement mods as they can be awkward, and usually take about the same amount of time to do as a quick WM combo that would regen just as much power. I typically take Tumbling Master although this slot almost doesn't matter at all.

For back you are typically going to avoid getting hit by enemies, so I would not choose Weakening Field. Breakout Protection and Breakout Regeneration are your better choices.

For chest go for Reserve Tank or Extended Supercharge to help with putting out more power, Quick Healing for more survivability, or Core Strength for more damage.

The other option worth mentioning is Explosive Block. If I'm operating as a troll, and I'm blocking, it's often because something has gone wrong with tanking the adds in the instance. Bouncing them with the foot mod will give the tank a little longer to pull them before they attack the squishies again.

I just checked over your latest edits, and this answers all the things I had been unsure about with Time Bomb now. Thanks for putting this together. Only one other suggestion that matches what people have already asked about. I think new players might appreciate one or two suggested load-outs early in the guide. It takes a while to read every power description. A sample loadout that helps people focus on the highlights would help them out.

I used to run with other Quantum (WM of course) pre-AM and it was quite a problem. Also, some AM DPS might still have Warped Reality on their bar which grants graviton-charged PI and also Munitions will be able to grant graviton-charged PI.
  13. JZtheDragon Well-Known Player

Hm, alright. I will go Einstein's to get that extra uppercut off. Love that.

for trolling in general I always go with brawling or MA as the hold x3 on MA stuns, and the brawling > MA stuns.

replenishing procs, regen shielding provided you have a personal shield, if not I usually throw in max dmg, extended SC.

the feet differs for me, for my acro character I use tumble master always it helps getting out of sticky situations :p, if its a speedster, I will use deadly block or explosive block. think there is a tactical mod that matches for the back as well that knocks the enemy far from you.

Hopefully last question :D. I am currently running this in my loadout:

( Tachyon Burst (PoT) - Temporal Extortion (Power Dump) - Quantum Tunneling (Aggro Wipe) - Time Bomb (Defense Debuff) - Time Bubble (Self Shield) - Event Horizon (Group Shield/SC)

I feel like there Time Bomb or even Quantum Tunneling should be replaced with something else for CC purposes. Am I looking at this the wrong way?
  16. Absolix Loyal Player

Quantum Tunneling and Time Bubble typically share similar function, so its best to have one, but not both. Quantum Tunneling has only has 3 sec of damage absorption, has a detaunt, and if can move you out of danger as well as move you closer to group members that need to be picked up. Time Bubble has lasts for 8 and as a proper shield it works with the Regenerative Shielding mod. Take a look at the pros and cons and choose one.

Time Bomb is not the defense debuff. Time Shift and Singularity are the defense debuffs.

For CC both heal debuffs are 4 man stuns. The strongest stuns are Distortion Wave and Time Bomb as they both are 8 man stuns.

Cool and thanks. I already replaced TB with Time Shift. Thanks so much and you have been a tremendous help.

I did know Solarstar back when he frequented here and when his guide was created, it was not much of one - for starters, it was created with the power just leaving the test server. Solarstar, like everyone else, was learning the powerset yet still made a guide. Sure, it was created first, and therefore was the only quantum guide which eventually did attract knowledge to it, but the guide itself was.... hollow. It required serious reading and digging to obtain useful information within the thread.

I am grateful you did take the time to lay out all of this knowledge. I did take the time to discover much of this myself (mostly for my personal use), but I am now aware you and shiny mackerel really went the full 9 yards to develop this.

All of this information I read here is accurate to my knowledge, complete, fully-detailed, and certainly going to help anyone who wishes to take up quantum. I do not know their actual numbers specifically, but I do know that these elements do indeed impact quantum's damage.

Nothing against solarstar and his original guide, but I do think your thread here is a definite improvement and very much necessary with all of the changes. I do hope to see you continue to update it, and should you need it, I am available for anything you may need.

    Very well done, Absolix.

Nice but I couldn't keep up my power with this loadout
