Is it me or is Sorcery the better option? let me explain, I was sorcery, switched to mental to try out its AM. Like not having to rely on a troll, cola, supply drops ect 100% of the time. But here's the 1 thing I did realize, my damage out dropped a easy 2-3 million in alerts, and 7-9 mil in raids going to mental. I'm using the AM, of mental, which I didn't use the AM for sorcery which was pets / the fury pet. and what makes it even worse is since I've been mental I've gained 500+ might, and roughly 100 or so prec, and still do less damage. so is it just me or is there anyone else here who uses mental that feels mental lacks in the dmg department when using its AM.
It is lacking compared to other AMs but those numbers you mention are way out of line, you're doing something wrong. What exactly is it you're doing?
Yeah, I gotta go with Haze here : Mental's AM isn't ideal but the WM side usually gets me 1-2 on the scoreboard in a Raid (after the first time I run a raid : first time through anything I stand back and see what's going on before I fight - rather get it right the second time, I wanna live through it the first ) : I know Sorcery is supposed to be 'it on the silver platter', as it were, but you shouldn't be underproducing by 3 mill unless you're comparing this to numbers two months ago before the Raid Bosses had their health reduced.
I run this for my AM build as mental I havent even put together a WM build yet just through a bunch of moves together on that armory just to save it lol but for AM build: pyshic resonance tele push tele bolt mass terror phantom flames menace usually do the tele bolt > phantom > tele push > mass terror / menance repeat or I'll switch tele bolt and push's spot in the rotation, reason being is because this has been making mass terror hit for 20k-41k I stay at full power non stop UNLESS I get knocked down or whatever and cant break out ect I have to re cast pyshic again.
1st off, Pyro>Mencace as far as using a more useful power with the AM. Pyro will net you more DPS than Menace will. Are you getting your range right? Standing too close and being interrupted/dying alot? Not sure what it could be. Something is off, although your rotation is ok, you still shouldn't be seeing such a huge difference in numbers.
naw Im actually getting close to pop menance when its ready to use, but aside from that im in range for the mid-ranged moves aside from that Im as far as possible to hit all moves as needed. and I do everything possible to not die lol, more deaths = less damage, less damage = not so effective DPSer
The AM is simple ... and doesn't do Eye-Popping Numbers. i prefer a non-AM build ... it is more consistant...
This. WM Mental > AM Mental. Not to mention that it allows your character to remain consistently mobile during combat and allows for survival-oriented concerns (like a Shield Ability) in your Loadout.
not to mention ... Mental's AM has limited range and you consistantly get interrupted and so it gets frustrating not to mention non crits that hit pretty low... the combination is sure to piss you off lol
Oh yeah, I switched my loadout to AM oriented for about.... 15 minutes. I was unimpressed. If that system cannot get me through a solo without resorting to what I had before then I cannot say that I have faith in it.
right idk I still feel like sorcery takes the cake, I switched back to sorcery yesterday I think. got use to sorcery's damage I guess, and being mental the 2-5 days kinda made me feel I got nerfed or was CR100 all over again lol not to mention if your PI goes away due to interrupts (and you dont catch it) and continue to do a rotation, 2-3 moves empty your power. So its almost like you HAVE to use that or run with a troll as mental.
Sorcery's WM is far better than Mentals AM. As for comparing Mentals WM rotation and Sorcerys, I'd still put my money on Sorcery but it's definitely going to be closer.
I agree, I've played as both and been both for awhile but idk sorcery is just wow without its pet fury lol I have been 100-300k behind in a alert, some times more, depending if Im invited or Q into them late, and I still end up miles ahead. Its crazy. Yes I like the dmg but at the same it still feels as if the enemies are hitting harder then what I do, but suppose that will change come item level 98, 99 and 100 gear (hopefully)
