So why do we need to remove AM again?

    The game is changing, whatever you like it or not, you have to deal with it. That being said, there is no need to go for each other's throats.

    Agree, the game is changing! But no one has to deal with it. Especially with unmatured people attacking you just because you are giving a different opinion or wanting something different from what they want.

    When I mean freedom, I mean compared to how it is on live. I have gone through 5-7 different loadouts for PftT alone with electric. All viable choices, and when iconic powers get their balance pass, it will expand those choices. On live right now you cannot do that. There is 1 loadout, 1 rotation that has the maximum result, and any other loadout will result in a significant damage difference.

    Cooldowns are an issue on test but with the right rotation it could be worked around.

    I dont use a keyboard and mouse when on test. I just plug in my ps4 controller to my laptop.

    the problem is we have dps players who should not be dps. if you're 20 or 30 cr points from being on the cr level of most adds in the content you should not be dps. if you're a tank/dps you should not be in it period. if you're a healer don't do dps you should heal and stay out of the way. if you're a troller be a troller and control mobs. in short we have a bunch of hot headed players who think playing dps makes them god. don't rush into content like you own it cause that dps damage bonus ain't gonna do squat against a boss or add 20 something cr points above you. now i'm very much aware that some tiers may need some carrying here and there case in point the recent jump from marks to ancient coins. however there are content runs that require you to be the correct cr.

    Umm that's not the only issue.


    We have people on Live who are at TOP CR and can't burn because they Literally CR hopped to end-game with low SP.



    I've had to kick many dps and leave many raids on my electricity healer simply because they couldn't burn, I could heal all I want to but it won't save you if you aren't able to do your job.


    For some reason GU 47, CR differential and AM's gave a lot of players this idea that they could burn through any content without needing to get any extra stats.

    i 100% agree with you. i've had a lot of raids where people were straight up lazy in not performing role functions. tanks, trollers, healers all of them.

    I'm so tired of people coming in here and saying it takes so much more skill to play with weapons or to run a hybrid build. Really? If you ask me people like this is what is hurting the game. How is 12344444 harder or take more skill then click click hold click+1? People like this need to get over themselves. Just because you don't like the AM dose not mean most of the community agrees with you. I like the AM's and I know more players that like AMs over the revamp is going to do. If you ask me the revamp on test right now takes less skill then the AM's on live. With the AM's you have to do it in a order, the revamp you can pick any power and spam weapons combos and be close to anybody. Yea spamming buttons takes so much more skill....

    As far as the AM have destroyed the game??? Really???? You are really going to say that?? AM's in pvp? Could care less about pvp, Would not miss it one bit if you take it out of the game. Open world. How did the AM's destroyed the open world? I don't think you know what you are talking about. CR killed open world. PVP has been a bleeding a slow death for years. The reason PVP hardly gets fixed is it brings in NO money to the game. You can PVP for free all day long.

    Coming in here and bashing other people you think it takes more skill to play this other way is wrong. True you may not be pointing it to any one player but other do read. Others see your post and it keeps them from post because of the hate they think they will get like this. How does it hurt to keep the AM's in the game? If the devs gives you weapons and hybrid and AM why should you care? You don't like the AM's fine, Use your weapons or what every. Try to see it from players that like the AMs and hate to use the weapons. They are taking a way some feel to be fun out of the game. PFtT is joke unless you have a troller with you. In a solo or a duo you have to use all small powers and they have no punch behind it. PFtT that is on test is not going to go over well with players that like AMs.

    he has a point. the game is meant to have ability trays AND weapons. that's why there's role and weapon synergy in dcuo so you can perform at your highest level.

    Soooo... they just made the "battery" problem much much worse.

    Weapons do as much damage as powers and can be spammed w/o power cost, and powers cost power... game will turn into a hack and slash. A meta will emerge if weapons do as much damage as powers and it leaves you with even less of a need for a troll besides recharge for the healer...

    A super hero game that is mostly swords and bows, not powers, ok, fine, RPS system is the "core" of the game but most of the recent content has adds that ignore the RPS system, this makes no sense to me. From a DPS perspective I understand and appreciate your opinion, from a troll perspective, this seems like the opposite direction entirely from "not just a batttery" or "troll required". Just my opinion.

    Agreed. I think I say it every week. Trolling will terrible because they keep trying to fix an unbroken role. Control/immunity will always be a problem with this current incarnation and they are not going to reprogram adds to be "controllable." So you will be left with pushing instant power like the dumb battery you are because casting PoT is too difficult.

    This is the reason why I have lost interest. I spend a lot less (and some day will stop supporting completely), stopped feat farming, stopped helping others etc... I just log in do my dailies and weekly raids for my main and 3 alts and log off. I hope that this PFfT is being worked on and will be close to what AM is, if for some reason it isn't than for me there is no reason to play a game that doesn't interest you.

    At least I agree on the three different playstyle, having the option to Hybrid, WM and PFfT is what's keeping me from cancelling my sub, just waiting to see what happens with this revamp.

    a whole lot of "the majority of players" & "most players" crap being thrown out there, as if saying it is somehow going to magically make it true. it's not. not in the least. the majority of players don't give a toss what style other players choose to play. they really don't. not in the slightest. couldn't. give. a. monkey's. these forums, as entertaining as they may be at times, as toxic as they are most of the time, are not representative of the opinions & feelings of the player base as a whole.

    & for everyone who keeps complaining about **** players in raids: form your own groups. done. sorted. if you pug into a raid, you takes your chances & gets what you get. don't wanna play with someone who plays from the tray? fair enough. that's your choice. don't play with them, then. add them to ignore. done. sorted.

    there's nothing wrong with Ams, or WM. nothing. the only issue is, as ever was, balance. & guess what? "the majority of players" don't give a **** about that, either.

    AM as a concept itself wasn't a bad idea, it's how it was implemented that was. It restricted people to a "one trick pony" type play style where you had to use one specific loadout to do the most damage. I think if they took their time with AM updates and added each ability to them in some way, shape, or form, they would have received much better reception.

    Another thing that flawed them is the insane amounts of damage it did. They should have nerfed AMs down to compare with WM/clipping.

    It's all useless discussion now unfortunately. Just need to keep giving feedback on the Revamp and get it out in the best condition possible.

    The idea of wm and am were not bad just poorly exacuted. The power return was a good idea to belp groups have different group configurations and not have to have 2 trolls. The bad now created more and more 1 shots and even 2 healers could keep players up so a dps would continue thier rotation of the same couple of powers to maximize thier damage. To look good for what? The score board needs a revamp just individual stats should be put to the back page and a combined score should be on the front as well as pick ups and kos. T

    Now the power retun for some roles wnd not others was a mistake a banaid thats all. Not promoting league runs is a mistake. But the split into pft hybrid or weapon style of play is a good idea i like it i look how the troll has an innate ablity it shouldnt stack recharge is there and all the debuff which still need some work. All in all it feels like to me things are going in the right direction. You get to pick from every power and combo and hopefully we will see weapons updates enough that we will get a wide range of different weapons (i.e. maybe whips) and i like that a few powers are being changed to make them more viable

    Major problem with AMs were technical limitations so game could not expand upon AMs.

    Also, AMs included only a limited number of abilities which automatically rendered anything outside AMs useless.
    AMs damage level was so high that anything interrupting normal AM rotation like using Supercharge, personal shield or in some cases even activating a trinket would cause a damage loss(prime example of that is Hard Light).

    AMs made DPS role too self sufficient and made DPS in alerts and duos like GODs compared to support roles. The only support role that still has some value in alerts are healers.

    At the same time AMs brought a lot of good things for some powersets like Mental and Gadget but they pretty much also ruined Combo power sets.

    Major flaw of balancing different AMs was ignoring set up times which made some people to think that certain AMs could never work well while other were looking OP in every scenario possible.
