So why do we need to remove AM again?

Lets make more player style options? Great idea!
Lets make weapons more usable for people that want to use them? Great idea!
Lets make hybrid game play more usable for people that want to use them? Great idea!
Lets nerf AM so people have to use hybrid and weapons? Bad idea!

So can we just please not nerf AM and not nerf power return. Rather lets buff up weapons and hybrid abilities so they can match the current AM damage. I do appreciate how the developers have been taking feedback into account and have improved on the original version of the remake, but IMO its a step backwards from the current game.

    Thanks ^_^

Agree totally. I like the AM's and i like the old school way as well. I also enjoy weapon mastery in some instances as well. To me, what they are doing is exactly that, a step backwards. Some would argue differently. My suggestion is add the hybrid old school way for people who like that way, keep the am, keep the wm and let the players choose and just focus on keeping the powers in line. ****, Nature and electric STILL never got their revamp lol.

The only thing i don't like about the ams is the limitations on some. Atomic has two, why can't the others have two? Or come up with something for the opposite tree so people aren't having to only spec down one tree.

I understand that you personally like AMs (and i respect that!) but, AMs have done nothing but lead the game in a unbalanced direction. and the problem with buffing hybrid and weapons to AM damage potential. It will just create another 1 shot era. The devs have already tried it. It didn't work. They have tried everything they can to make AMs work but it just cant. AMs are meant for Low risk High reward. It takes away diversity the game use to have. It ruined PvP, Weapons is suppose to come first before the power. there should always be a balance.

Taking away AMs is the most best thing for the game and takes us back when the game was healthy. I'm sorry to say but the majority of the DC community does not like AMs. And we must think and plan on that and think in the most logical way on the matter. Without Am it makes players pick there weapon up encouraging the way PvP is suppose to be. Giving the full run on experience of the game.

I think in pvp your weapon should be that way, completely, i dont think am's should be used in PVP at all...completely agree. Doesn't allow for player vs player. But going back to when the game was healty? Even then, there were flavor of the months and there will always be because them balancing the powers has never been the focus even when they said it was. There were a lot more variables to the community leaving than just AM's. Content or lack there of, intro of replays, WM, AM, toxic community, disconnect between players and devs, waaay too many variables, ever changing focus, list can go on. But, i do respect what you think as far as during that time when there more players playing and the allowing of diversity in a sense. I agree the game has been given the easy button and AM's contributed, but not the only factor.

Because AM was never wanted , it's never been balanced for each power set which led to the abuse of this in order to sell respec tokens , It also helped kill PvP and filled the game with lazy DPS bums using powers like ice to just spam one move and get max damage etc and lets not forget how trollers were made to feel almost irrelevant in alert content especially.

Basically , AM ruined the DPS role for many many players , the ones who want it to stay are the ones who either couldn't DPS as it was before effectively or the lazy 1234 cookie cutter players that are afraid they'll be seen for the skill less players they are at DPS.

Now , I know some of you are gonna get your pants in a twist over my opinion so go ahead but anyone who remembers how good combat was pre AM/WM , how many great DPS loadouts we saw from ALL power sets and how much more versatility we had to play a way we wanted will surely agree to most of what I said , getting rid of AM is one of the best parts of this revamp , again in my opinion.

How much of the plan for the result of this stat revamp do you not understand? It is all about giving you options.
Do you want to play with just weapons? check!
Do you want to play with just powers? check!
Do you want to play with some combination of weapons and powers (10%/90%, 50%/50%, etc)? check!

Is the current build of the test server there yet? NO!
Do we (players and Devs) know how to spec to make the different builds have the same output? NO!
THAT'S WHY IT'S STILL ON TEST! So everything can get sorted out and nailed down before it goes live. We are still months away from getting close to a final balance.

As to AMs themselves, let them be gone. Let me choose which powers I want to use instead of the predetermined loadout. PftT is going to be much better for the game than AM for people that want to just use powers. With an AM, if you aren't using "these specific powers" in "this specific order" you are pretty much doing 1/4 the damage you should be (or less) as it is on live today. With PftT, sure there will be the one loadout/rotation that will get you the most damage out, but you could swap out several powers and still be able to do decent damage. But it will be back to experimentation on all powers to find the good loadouts, instead of look at the patch notes and you have your loadout until the Devs decide to change something else with your power of choice.

Nothing wrong with voicing your opinion dude, You just shouldn't lump everyone into a category because they like something....j/s

Speak for yourself. PftT on test is way better than AM because it allows freedom of loadout choice.

I've only dabbled with Gadgets on there. Different using the keyboard mouse. Never been a PC player except diablo 2.

I don't mean to lump everyone into a category , however I am yet to come across anyone who actually wanted AM in the first place and who can provide a legitimate , well thought out valid reason for it to stay that is not based on how high their numbers will be or how easy it is to use.

I don't think anyone wanted it to come, just like WM. And just because a reason isn't legitimate to you doesn't make it so. I'm just speaking for me, not anyone else. It's obvious i don't chase the board...im quantum lol and don't care how easy it is. I like the looks and interactions of quantum.

For it stay, i like the uniqueness it brings and the concept of the am. I like that using something particular to your power and your power only brought about damage. I like that hard lights could be used even in troll stance or atomic can battle tank but again, thats the uniqueness aspect. I don't and will never like the imbalance it brought and the aftermath it brought of people flocking to power after power. But couldn't the same be said about back then as well, people all using the same weapons, same powers, or using the same clippable consumables (karmic hex clip for example)?

I want all three options to be available and can perform optimal damage so everyone can play how they want. The community is divided enough as is.

if you really do care about the players as you claim then you would see how AMs is not good for the game.
  17. Saybro Committed Player

So I don't care because I want to play how I want and you play how you want to play? Got it.

long answer: who the hell knows at this point, devs have changed their vision 3 times already and we still have 6 more powers to test (and keep in mind Water eventually), for all we know they'll change their vision by the next 3 and say "so yeah we now believe your potential should come from one place only: how hard to push a button". So yeah I think they have a back up AM code that works with the current system so that if all this ends up as the mess it's looking like, they can just adapt AM to stats (you know, like how it was for a whole freaking year).

my personal answer: so you have more reasons to buy TC and get TC mods.

Oh btw, stop saying AM was bad for the game, because I can just as well say the old systems where bad for the game too. A combat mechanic only works if the game is balanced, but when devs don't do proper work we end where we are. We told them to never go CR and they didn't listen, we told them WM had issues and they left them unchecked, we told them time and time some powers came out of their AM pass too strong, again nothing changed. Don't blame the combat mechanic when devs made the game to allow the mechanic to be over powered, best example is how Celestial, Rage and Light actually came out balanced as compared to Munitions that 1 attack, that isn't even a SC can do all the damage of a combo rotation, that isn't a mechanic issue, is a development issue that decided to make that one power stronger compared to other powers.

It's not that free, the only difference is that you can actually use more attacks because they don't follow an order, but then you have to deal with power cost issues and cooldowns, and you see there really aren't that many choices.
