and find the same old DCUO player BS of 5 players camping every spawn point to make money because this game is really "monopoly online". good job making these tradeable so instead of it being a fun experience, we can get the usual frustration of someone else being greedy for some gold. it was a good idea [the base item] but once again... implemented in a way that adds frustration rather than fun. luckily i got one from 10 trips [different toons] to the vault.

Seems a bad way to go about it, the spawn points are for the 5 briefings and when you get a specific one they become white and unselectable. The only way to get multiple base items is using the vault or making/using alts and each alt can only be used once.

then why is the marketplace FLOODED with them? there's more of them in the MP than PLAYERS lol.

alright... i just read "This collection will only be available for one week, until April 8, 2016.". i thought just a day. not as bad.

There are some stuff to have in mind:

    - You can stay on the same spawn point if you want.
    - If you don't want you can travel around
    - You can hunt those both in Pve and Pvp Phase.
    - When an item spawns in a place, it apparently keeps spawning in there more.
    - You can get the base item in Vault too and skip this entire problem.
    - You can always use a Radar Enhancer and memorize all the spawn locations before trying to get them. There's always a spot people will either miss or run out of patience waiting for it to spawn. Use that to your advantage.

I did that yesterday. Took me 2 hours but I did it.

"it took me 2 hours" is not my idea of fun. only the usual stockholm syndrome that keeps DCUO players playing because they've "invested" so much in the game excuses the idea that for a 5 node collection... 2 hours is acceptable.

It's mostly because I was chatting with my leaguemates and we were telling jokes to each other :D Close to the end I was annoyed and wanted to give up, but needed only one, so I endured the waiting.

It's not something I'll do with any alts, although I'll try to get it in the Vault with them so I can donate to my main and give it to my league.

Took me about 10 mins tops on each toon to complete in pvp phase. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

just curious what is this base item anyway. haven't logged on in about a week...

I don't want to give spoilers, so I won't say it's a purple investigation node that you place in your base and runs away when you chase it, and if you catch it it will run away again while people laugh at the background.

You sir are kind, considerate, and a champion among men. I salute you and your fortitude in being able to avoid the temptation to spoil the surprise for others. ;):D;)

One person can only claim 5 of in April Fools "Briefings" it's not like you can farm them with the intent to sell more than the one that you can get from the briefing.

You can also get them in the vault, but that's the ol' RNG chance of getting one. I'm stupid lucky cause I ran the vault on all my alts and my luck got me 3 drops out of 12 runs that took a little over 20 minutes total for 3 drops. I gave one to a friend for the league hall.

I spent about an hour earrly yesterday and got the briefing on my main.. From here on out, I'll just run the vault on my alts.
If a person is really wanting to sell them they will farm the vault, it's fast easy and you get 1 mark everytime even if you don't get the drop.

If you don't want it spoiled don't watch this video, if you just have to know, watch...

    really?

I got it done in 45 minutes by camping at one spot. They seem to spawn the most frequent on the ferris wheel.

I was unable to measure it properly thanks to smart people standing in the spot regardless of people constantly repeating that standing on the exact spawn point will prevent the item from appearing.

It still appears even if you're standing in it. Happened quite a bit.

2 toons , 52 minutes total and done. Then logged into 3rd toon > went to vault and got 2.

I remember people camping Larfleeze locations. That did cause some of his spawns to bug, and he'd appear 20 stories below his usual spawn point due to people being on his spawn point. It was rather annoying.

Camping is a horrible method for farming things like this. It would be so much faster for everyone searching if players would fly around looking at all possible locations. That allows first come first serve and random chance to come into play, and more players have a chance to get a node each time.

As I told a league-mate yesterday: I compare camping to people on the highway who try to get to the front of where lanes end in construction zones. If they merged when it was safe to do so instead of going to the front of the line, the traffic jam they're trying to avoid wouldn't exist in the first place.

Camping worked much better for me than searching did. Also, while camping, if I saw a collection that I couldn't use, I'd announce it. At least one other person was doing the same thing.
