Im sure something like this was probably done before but Im bored atm so....

You wake up in your bed and find that you are in your Main DCUO character's body, with their knowledge and skills, and powers. But none of their gear. After your instant moment of joygasm....

    1)What do you do first?
2)How badly is this going to screw with your head?(for those that play a different gender or chose alternate bodies like cat or ice)
3)For Heroes, Will you be able to resist the temptation to use your powers for selfish/evil in the "real world" with your "real life" circumstances?
4)Will you go vigilante like your character and become a Super Hero/Villain? (keep in mind real cops have a very dim view of vigilantes and this is an era where 'domestic terrorist' charges can fly for little)
5)How screwed are you now that you legally look nothing like yourself, with different genetics and fingerprints?
6)Do you even try to maintain your daily life as it was before?

I have one more question but I'm going to wait for at least some replies before dropping it :D

    -----
For me its a little difficult to determine which of my characters is my 'main' since I play 2 a lot but I'll go with the one thats slightly higher CR and my first DCUO character so.
1)I begin to experiment with my sorcery powers to see what I can do with them now that they're not limited by game mechanics
2)Lord Tyrranus is not too far off my IRL body size, he's just in zomfg great shape so I'm good here.
    3)Not a hero :p
4)Oh yes, I will definitely try to take over the world!
5)Not too terribly, with the exception of the muscles on muscles, if I were to dye my hair black I could superficially pass enough to get a new ID. My genetics aren't really on file anywhere, fingerprints could suck as I do work licensed security and those are on file and part of my license.
    6)HELL NO

1). Strip naked and look at my new cosmic skin
2). Eh, I'll be a woman so of course it'll take some getting used to, like peeing sitting down.
3). I'm a villain so I'll be doing bad things of course, unless Trump becomes president. Then I might have to put my focus else where..... (That's all imma say for now)
4). Resort back to 3. Villains just have more fun. No rules to abide by :p
5). Not screwed at all. Taking on a new identity will be like a fresh start at life.
6). **** no! I got celestial powers, I can rip people's souls away, why would I want to go back to being some production worker?

    1)What do you do first?
~I'd probably starting tapping my lava rock skin and asking myself "is this for real?", this is all done after a small panic attack.
2)How badly is this going to screw with your head?(for those that play a different gender or chose alternate bodies like cat or ice)
~Again, a small panic attack and then once the shock wears off, I would probably be okay with it. Be it, becoming a large rock skinned brute would take some getting used to.
3)For Heroes, Will you be able to resist the temptation to use your powers for selfish/evil in the "real world" with your "real life" circumstances?
~It would be hard. I think if I am honest, it would be temping to do somethings I have always thought about doing, but In the end I think I would make the right choice.
4)Will you go vigilante like your character and become a Super Hero/Villain? (keep in mind real cops have a very dim view of vigilantes and this is an era where 'domestic terrorist' charges can fly for little)
    ~Probably.
5)How screwed are you now that you legally look nothing like yourself, with different genetics and fingerprints?
~Quite a bit. My job is out the window, my wife probably would be freaked out and not know how to handle the new situation.
6)Do you even try to maintain your daily life as it was before?
    ~I would certainly try.

    1)What do you do first?
Id be waking up as a women, so off to find out what tampons are like.

2)How badly is this going to screw with your head?(for those that play a different gender or chose alternate bodies like cat or ice)
Id be a man trapped inside of a women body. I'm not sure if I am strong enough to be transgender.

3)For Heroes, Will you be able to resist the temptation to use your powers for selfish/evil in the "real world" with your "real life" circumstances?
Villain, but if it was made so in real life id only use my powers in positive, helpful ways. Or not use them at all in fear of someone getting hurt, or being arrested or sent someplace to be tested on to see how my new powers work.

4)Will you go vigilante like your character and become a Super Hero/Villain? (keep in mind real cops have a very dim view of vigilantes and this is an era where 'domestic terrorist' charges can fly for little)
For the most part I believe in Law & Order. If I am going after people it would be because I offered my services to the police or military and only follow orders. Not going out looking for trouble on my own and then playing judge and jury on them.

5)How screwed are you now that you legally look nothing like yourself, with different genetics and fingerprints?
Not at all really. I mean maybe if I had kids I would be upset because I no longer look anything like the person they know. I know id be devastated if my mom one day looked like someone I never even met before.

6)Do you even try to maintain your daily life as it was before?
    I don't see why I would not.

    1)What do you do first?
I'd freak out, waking up with breasts, big breasts. Then I'd freak out some more after seeing the rest of my body and then my face is that of a woman.
After recognizing whose body I have I'd rush to look online for others like me.

2)How badly is this going to screw with your head?(for those that play a different gender or chose alternate bodies like cat or ice)
After my initial reactions I would log in on DCUO and look for the character I look like, is the original me now in the game? If it's still the dame I made and I change her looks, will my looks change along with it?
I would also worry about how to break the news to my family and friends, then consider not telling them and sneak out of my former life. After all if my superpowered self is associated with my family, people could force me anonymously to do their bidding or they hurt my loved ones.
Lastly I... erh, hmm... I would find out which gender has the better you know, climax... and feel really conflicted about it.

4)Will you go vigilante like your character and become a Super Hero/Villain? (keep in mind real cops have a very dim view of vigilantes and this is an era where 'domestic terrorist' charges can fly for little)
I would learn the scope of my abilities first. If I'm mighty enough I would force my will on those I label terrorists and oppressors.
Otherwise, dayjob by day, vigilante by night.

3)For Heroes, Will you be able to resist the temptation to use your powers for selfish/evil in the "real world" with your "real life" circumstances?
If I were to go vigilante, I would rob the criminals I put down to gradually enrich my life.

5)How screwed are you now that you legally look nothing like yourself, with different genetics and fingerprints?
If I can slip out of my old life unnoticed, I should be fine. Otherwise, I really don't know.

6)Do you even try to maintain your daily life as it was before?
    Nope.

    1)What do you do first?
Make sure the man on fire isn't after me, then create a deception only to trick Kaz because that's never not funny.
2)How badly is this going to screw with your head?(for those that play a different gender or chose alternate bodies like cat or ice)
    If the tradition is followed...bad.
3)For Heroes, Will you be able to resist the temptation to use your powers for selfish/evil in the "real world" with your "real life" circumstances?
You can never not use your powers for evil if you claim it is for the greater good...so no, Error N313: temptation not resisted.
4)Will you go vigilante like your character and become a Super Hero/Villain? (keep in mind real cops have a very dim view of vigilantes and this is an era where 'domestic terrorist' charges can fly for little).
Do i still have high resistance, ludicrous acrobatics and unlimited ammo? Then come what may!
5)How screwed are you now that you legally look nothing like yourself, with different genetics and fingerprints?
At this point i guess i would just start calling the situation typical tuesday
6)Do you even try to maintain your daily life as it was before?
"Dammit Jeremy *points at Jeremy with Railgun* I need those reports by 11:00!!!" ...yup, i can see it happening.

You know I sat down a sec and laughed at some of the responses but then something hit me. So many dudes play as chicks. I mean I knew that already but wow its a smack in the face.
  9. Bhanqwa Well-Known Player

I play both, and started as a dude. But now my highest happens to be a woman. Really all I care about is variety.

Oh my dear God...why am I wearing a skirt?

Who could possibly know there were worse things than pants? The horror! The sheer unadulterated horror!

    Oh...wait...they come off.

Into the fire pit they go.

    1) Stare at my 25y old athletic female body and ask myself why this does not look like a fat 40y old bearded dude. And ask myself why I have that stupid, smug grin instead of a more worried look...
    2) Badly. Because even while the visuals improved massively (I'll look carefully of course to be sure I did not make any mistake *cough*) it is not me.
    3) I guess; never was a fan of power abusal for personal gain & look down on those who do IRL.
    4) nope
    5) don't know. Currently I'll say I'll try to maintain coolness.
    6) I'll try to get to my characters mentor ASAP (Supes); refer to the Bates / Maggin incident & say I'm from Earth Prime stuck in that body. Chances are he'll know someone who knows something that will help. Or not, that was the old-old DC verse, was it? *ponders*

Damn. It screwed me up already without anything happening :D

edit: Wait a min; In that theory I wake up in my char body but IRL and not in my chars body ingame?

Ehh... uh... sue Daybreak because they tuned me into a super-powered lady?

Na, but I'll revision above now that it might a bit more long-term:

    3) I guess; never was a fan of power abusal for personal gain & look down on those who do IRL.
    4) Probably not all out. Maybe a patrol on night to mug up some muggers; but most likely not flying around in supersuit in broad daylight. I'd be more devoted to find out what happened.
    5) Very. It would be nothing you could tell anybody without being declared insane until you do stuff like flying and lifting a truck at which the other declares him or herself insane.
    6) Not a chance.

    7) I'll consider a shapeshifter as my new main :p
  12. Tyrranus Well-Known Player

I love this answer, I could see myself doing something similar.
    BUT
for the sake of this little funzies... you log onto DCUO and find your main no longer exists, you have an empty character slot.

    ------

Now for the bonus question :D

People who play with their spouses/offspring/roommates would figure this out a hair sooner, but weather its via internet or news or goin out side.... You eventually discover that the world now has a few hundred thousand active heroes/villains in the same boat you are. (Whatever the exact population of active DCUO players is).

So.... does this change your plans? How?

I would be a lot more cautious about using my powers, even under the cover of darkness. If "we" are known to the public, then people will put in effort to track us down. I have no desire to do someone's bidding or be dissected.

Even when the dust settles and there are some respected hero-groups out there, I would be very hesitant to join up. May be it's paranoia, but I'd consider the possibility those heroes all have their strings pulled by some puppetmaster.

    That is a changer.

Wait a bit till after the news made the round so I can be sure my family heard it from multiple sources before approaching them.

Get a Job at a Hospital ("No, I have no medical training, but look at these awesome celestial healing powers"); try to hide the "threatening stuff" (laser eyes, trucklifting superstrength, etc).

Still try to find out what happened. Just a bit more relaxed.

oh yikes. i dont think i can answer these questions without alerting the devs because my character is a stitched up murderer who wears human flesh, and only lives for killing. so yea. if i answered these questions id have some life thinking to do xD

  19. willflynne 10000 Post Club

I'd be confused to all sorts of levels, considering I don't have what I'd call a main character. Instead, I've got about 8-9 characters that I rotate through regularly and treat them all about equally. We're also talking about multiple genders and power sets in that mix.

I'd probably just implode from the improbability of it all. LOL
  20. Tyrranus Well-Known Player

Hehe, like I said in my OP I only have 2 I really put any effort into past lv30 so far... My main not a big deal in many ways to adjust
The other one? Yikes... yellow power rings tend to radically affect one's psycology, the fact he's a tiger-man, and a speedster would all take a ton of adjustment. Being able to whip a shield like Capt Murika would be fun tho lol :) So would my hard light constructs not being limited by DCUO's programming.
