Never trust a NPC. I prefer aftershock tanking. And for the time being replaced Gemstone Shield with Reinforce. The shield itself was so darn squishy that I'd rather have a support skill for it. Not sure if the GU47 defense-stuff or something changed GS though.

So far from what I have seen Quantum is leading the pack with Mental than Munitions and Gadgets a bit behind that. Nature and Rage are a bit behind Munitions and Gadgets. The point of that thread is to use a standard rotation that does not get buffed by SC, trinkets, sodas, etc..... Quantum with the preloaded Warp Barrage is leading the pack.
It's a shame we have to even abide a rotation, instead of being able to use the powers we like? I use a rotation based on the situation, but the loadout is often this: Totem, Shards, Debris Field, Rumblecrush, Gemstone Shield, Crystal Golem + Weapon Mastery (which is a joke at this point) *** I do not use this loadout al the time. I sometimes focus a loadout on "crush" or stun/daze effects. To be honest, I don't like earth, but used it originally to make a toon most closely associated with shear strength as the special effect. Sadly, this game is the opposite of building the character we want, and playing "our" way. As for the loadout or any tips, I welcome them with humility and would look forward to trying them.
I didn't read past this post cause I don't have time... I played Earth for years. My suggestion? Spec all Precision, since Crystal isn't affected by Might or Precision, and use Weapon Mastery as you main form of damage. Use a power that sets up Dazing or Crushing, (from the Geo tree) right after Fortified Golem, then hit Debris Field (both Crystal & Debri Field will do more damage if the target(s) ar Crushed or Dazed). Keep Fortified Golem going as soon as it's off cool down and continue with WM and setting up the PI. Edit: Oh, and TOTEM + the Precision buff! Keep Totem up at all times.
I run that way sometimes. But any damage bonus I get from that is unnoticed to the damage put out by other powers.
I started an Earth toon out to see the difference now compared to a month ago. Crystal use to hit with Striking Stone after I used Earth Grip in the 200-300 damage range on enemies. Yesterday she was hitting 1.5K almost every time at level 4. That is the Crystal I know from a year. Hopefully they do not nerf her.
Strange that I am also 114 cr. With less sp (164, 4 of which are not specced into anything) and my might is above 8400 and prec above 4400 Edit: Now I see that you are probably just cr 114 from the gear from the recent update which doesn't count mods toward cr so you are missing a ton of might and prec from mods
Oh don't get me wrong. Earth tanking is insanely fun for me. It's more challenging since you don't have shields and you'll always get damaged. Due to the lack of a cone AoE pull you're move active in moving around grabbing aggro, jumping back to the boss and so on. Sad though that there isn't a super cool Supercharge like Eternal Flame I was fire and ice so far with different toons and disliked the tanking with those powers (especially Ice, fire was kinda ok I guess). But my earth toon stays earth
Before the update I was just above 4000 prec I have a mixture of 99,100, and 101 gear The mods are all 6 experts with precision as the main focus ( precision on reds, prec/health on blues, prec/power on yellow) But I believe that prec and might both can go higher with the 94 gear from HOP1 since that gear has more prec and might (not much more) but far less of everything else
Yeah, I only have a mixture of 99 and 100 gear with mostly 99. That's probably why your stats are a little higher. I do have all precision based expert VI mods.
I have seen that powers such as mental and quantum are doing above 25k dps while as an earth user I'm only able to get to about 11k dps Crystal hits at about 20k when close but gets halved if you are at range Even with being really close, I still only manage 11k a sec Also my WM with duelweild is hitting roughly between 14k-22k
You're better off dropping Shards for Rumblecrush Using a movement SC to power Crystal more often. Totem isn't gonna heal Crystal by much, much less do good damage. I'd personally use a movement SC in place of it.
