It is REALLY COOL to see Marvel get to the point where they can branch off and actually make MOVIES of some lesser-known characters. Was REALLY HOPING that DC could've brought New Gods to the Big Screen....but I guess it was cancelled over rumored angst with potential "Wokeness".....so sad and disappointing. As for Disney / Marvel I would love to see them continue to bring lesser-known characters like Jack of Hearts to the Big Screen He was also a member of The Avengers during the epic DC / Marvel crossover with the Justice League. Would love to see ROM and his Spaceknights too You telling me that Captain Marvel hasn't crossed paths with Rom or his Spaceknights? Didn't she mention in End Game that she was responsible for "Thousands of Worlds".... I'm certain Galador was one of them...... Marvel is in a GREAT PLACE right now....hopefully DC Big Screen will get there soon.
Jack of Hearts might be a little too obscure yet to tap into on the big screen, but who knows? I mean, we DID see Howard the Duck show up in the first Guardians film, so who knows what sort of surprises James Gunn might have up his sleeve yet. As for ROM and the Spaceknights of Galador, last I knew Marvel could only use Galador. ROM was a character they licensed from Parker Brothers (they made the ROM toy). When they did a new generation of Spaceknights comic years back, they were able to use just about everything BUT the ROM character. At one point there was talk of the various Hasbro properties doing their own interconnected movie universe, and since ROM was bought up by Hasbro (probably when they bought Parker Brothers) he was rumored to be part of that (along with GI Joe, MASK, Visionaries and Micronauts). But if the Wikipedia article is right that's gone into development limbo.
Well, THAT'S an interesting little Easter egg they included in the latest Shang-Chi trailer. Marvel chief confirms Abomination vs. Wong fight in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (yahoo.com) Almost makes you wonder what else might be hidden in the film when they reveal that in the trailers.
Abomination?? Yeah this opens up a TON of possibilities....and should be a HUGE fight with Wong. I stopped reading Hulk comics in the mid 80s and missed some of the "Different" variations of Hulk but I am certain that the "Current" Movie version of Hulk probably couldn't hold a candle to Abomination..... Infinity War and Endgame Hulk is a cream puff.....about the ONLY feat of strength shown was him wielding the Infinity Gauntlet to bring everyone back and taking the energy charge from it.... But in a FIGHT? Against the bruiser Abomination? Smart Hulk? He has no chance.....maybe he can offer Abomination to sit down for a game of Chess instead. I've seen some rumors of Red Hulk.....She Hulk.....would also LOVE to see my man Doc Samson Marvel's at it AGAIN, lol.
And PLEASE, Marvel - "IF" you bring Doc Samson into the Marvel Cinematic Continuum give the part to a Fabio look alike Characters like Doc Samson you only get ONE CHANCE to do it RIGHT.......
Straight strength, one-on-one? Probably not. But we have yet to fully see how Shang-Chi fights his battles in the film universe, or whether he actually fights Abomination (there seems to be a panicked disruption in that same location in the trailers). If nothing else, it could be used as a good way of showing how well he can hold his own against some established characters from the MCU.
