Seems about right, to be honest. First year of the game, we went from several separate servers to the mega servers. Population and interest drops off. Add into that, the game has already been around for 5 years, so its not a truly new game.
The PS/PC EU numbers didn't surprise me at all since I play on it daily for about 10-14 hours (and you get to know people to play content with), but I was pretty shocked with the Xbox numbers. They spent about an entire year throwing stuff out on ps/pc and ignoring many of the bugs in the game (most of which have never been fixed), and only repairing bugs in the marketplace (literally within hours), only to mis-market the game on Xbox. Marketing is 90% of anything now. And understanding what content people value enough to subscribe monthly to. Now, the "jumping off" point to DCUO is being legendary, then to play the content adequately you have to use several hundred dollars in replays to complete content in a timely manner, which new people to the game, wisely, are unwilling to do.
umm its not marketing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the thing is is the game is mediocre at best. For xbox palyers its twice the cost with the sub + gold sub its just not worth it. They had a big influx of ppl - so obviously wasn't a marketing problem- but they play a few hours or less than month, they quit. Its not worth for most to stay esp. with shady business practices as having to pay for F2P to move up a login queue.
It was made clear when you tried to convince me even after I said I wasn't just going to just believe random dweebs on the forums. I said I'd only believe a green-name, and yet you still insisted on joining the conversation. -unless you're thinking your name IS in green? THAT was an attempt to make me believe you. Got news for you, bud. -unless you actually work for DB, your name means nothing to me, and neither does anything you say.
Recent changes chases people off. Especially the Xbox population did never know anything else than monthly content, and they have no idea of the "good old times" Daybreak enforces on everyone now in one last desperate try to get the population back up (except for the players who played DCUO on PS3 or PC before). I'm pretty sure consolidation of EU and US servers for PC and PS are just around the corner, once the new episode failed to get enough players back (in comparision to the ones who dropped out of the game).
Let's not jump the gun, EU side has always been dead so it was only a matter of time for Xbox players to feel the impact for those that play EU. No different then what they did for PS/PC. I'm sure What's left of the EU player will be happy.
