So August and September have come and gone and no "Save the Universe", seeing that August 10th was the start of the 1st week 2023 for two weeks ending on September 6th, and for three weeks 2022, starting July 7th it makes you wonder what really going on?
Save the Universe started in 2021 and was yearly until 2024, it started in August of 2021, hence the question of why no 2024, fyi. Also, in 2021 it lasted I think until December, then picked back up in July of 2022.
I will never not be amazed that content that was conceptualized as filler that should be easy to produce is instead just as hard if not harder than regular episodes. You'd think the clamp would have made it easier to adjust old content for StU filler but I guess not.
I can't remember if StU was on the calendar they released about the planned events for this year. If it happens before the end of the year, it seems like it would have to drop in Nov since that's the only gap in events we have for a while. Once the winter seasonal drops there's like a 3 or 4 month of back to back seasonals so unless they were going to double StU with a seasonal, Nov seems most likely. That said, Nov would still be close to the latest episode drop and usually StU is usually near the end of a dlc during the sort of lull between releases. Personally I think the best the schedule is have StU in July after or during the summer seasonal and then do a Survival mode after the StU. That way people could use StU to buy a second set of elite gear for their off-role to be prepped for Survival mode. They had that schedule a couple years ago and I thought it worked well, but, I mean that was the only survival we had for quite some time now.
They skipped Save the Universe and released Harley EP a month or two early? Probably why it released a little unfinished. Braniac Returns was only 4 months until Harley launched.
I agree it does seem like they do add an extra level of difficulty to the raids during the event, it's crazy but not surprising.
