Salvage loot, what makes MK16 exobytes??

I've salvaged CR 300 greens, CR304 blues, and CR 305 (main man style; daily) or 307 (drops/loot) purples which makes MK15 exobytes.
    CR290 makes MK 15s.
    CR280 makes MK14, i think.
What makes a MK 16 exobyte? CR310 items from the vendor? elite version, CR312?

From my memory, I did stumble across a mark 16 from salvaging a blue item level 302 gear. Though usually I salvage and fortify so fast that I often don't remember half my salvaged outputs.

I don't believe MK16 is in the loot table at all. They just altered CR280 to CR290 in omnibus. R&D table is far from considered quickly, before update or at all. :p
I imagine it's one of many systems to be overhauled in the next year or so, along with the trading post, feats, etc

I suspect the new tier system has completely loved the salvage R&D system for loot.
Having an update that gives gear with no stats, I'd not seen before. The team is capable of all new loving errors.
    TY for them hotfixes.

Got it from 300 rip hunter gear.

I get them by salvaging the new generator mods from the LoD content.

I’m pretty sure when you Salvage new gen mods, you get Core Elements (those to craft 42.4 mods)
  8. Catastroflare Well-Known Player

    You can get both.

I have yet to get MK16 exobytes from salvaged gear though, including my old STU gear at CR 300. But that's just based on my experience and I could have missed some that did.

I'd guess it's at least the yellow vendor gear, or maybe what will be in the next TC, gear. Those normally have the highest returns, but I'm not buying one and then grinding it up to find out.

I got a few MK 16 exobytes today. The UI, when i salvage, i can't see exactly what MK is made as it goes immediately to highlight the next gear item to salvage. the last salvaged item does show the description of the exobyte in the ui. Looking forward to the day R&D UI is replaced with something new and hopefully better.
I think they were from blues and purples, loot from LoD content

I bet if you salvaged your OP hands, back or neck youd get one.

    Did you try that?

    Jk :D

Assuming that they didn't change it from the past the list should be something along these lines
ever 20 levels it jumps up a Mk

    1-9= Can't be salvaged
    11-20=MK1
    21-40=MK2
    41-60=MK3
    61-80=MK4
    81-100=MK5
    101-120=MK6
    121-140=MK7
    141-160=MK8
    161-180=MK9
    181-200=MK10
    201-220=MK11
    221-240=MK12
    241-260=MK13
    261-280=MK14
    281-300=MK15
    301-320=MK16
321-341=MK17 ? (can't really test this at the moment, they also might hard cap it at MK16 until non-OP items reach this point)

It's possible that for high rarity items they might move up from a level lower such as 300 might become a MK16., as I originally tested on green/blue loot drops pre-episode 41

can confirm this, when I salvage stuff, I spam clicks & do all at once so didn't realize,
but once I did on 42.3 prec (since I'm Might based) I got Blue MK16 one + 1xCore Element

It should be anything above 302 (or 301 based on the post above). I’ve been getting mk16 rather commonly now. I’ll keep an eye out today and confirm this.

I don't think that it's that exact as in most cases, purple salvages better than green at the same level and vendor gear salvages better than both. So I'd guess (and I don't salvage vendor gear...I prestige it), that a 302 STU elite gear would salvage better than a 302 blue LOD piece. I don't believe I've gotten any MK16s yet and I know I've salvaged 304 blue already. Hard to say right now as the world is down, but I'll verify with a few pieces I'm sitting on tomorrow.

But as a general guideline I'd agree with you, it's around 20 CR +/- 1 or 2 depending on your gear 'quality'.
