today, the President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, passed away. i am very sad about this http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2015/150713e.pdf
It's sad to think that he died with still a majority of nintendo fans hating him for their e3 presentation. Well he's doing a barrel roll somewhere up there now. God speed Mr. Iwata I'll be replaying Earthbound again in your honor.
IGN has an article of tributes coming in from notable names/companies in gaming, and there was a quote from Iwata (I'm guessing) used by a couple of people that stood out, and might explain the "lost a friend" feeling. "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07...y-celebrates-and-pays-tribute-to-satoru-iwata Some other great comments in that article as well.
