Whats the consensus on Entwined Rings of Azar? I feel a buff troll build with SP into max health and then Vit would benefit from this. I currently run Cog and Tetra on my Troll and don't feel like scouring thru the forums to find an opinion on the art. LMK what U think
I wouldn’t run it over the Claw, even with all prec DPS’s. The 5% crits are more valuable than a higher cog/tetra buff with the trans strat meta and giving 7% dom and resto to tanks and healers is pretty huge too. Plus, maybe it’s just me, but I have no desire to go back to spamming power heals.
Wouldn't run it over the claw, but would definitely run it over the Amulet of Rao, especially on single bosses, or bosses you have to systematically eliminate. The rings can synergise extremely well with a healer running starheart fragment and a tank running dilustel refractor, but again these are situational cases and those artifacts are far from BiS for those roles.
As a main artifact its terribly outdated and will get reworked soon. As a tac swap artifact its perfectly viable. I was joking around with another guy the other day about how the most tac-swap-buff-sweat-troll set up would look like. Basically you'd run Claw, Amulet and as tac swap you rotate Commlink, Tetra, Cog, Azar, Dilustel (requires pull in Loadout), Phil stone and Dead kings scepter. If you got all of those on Rank 200 and use perfectly, you mastered inventory universe online.
Lol. I tried using refractor in troll role. Unfortuntely it only gave 20k health. My prec buff was only 2k more and my might only 1k. Tragic
I suppose someone could test the damage increase from a higher cog/tetra buff due to the rings vs the damage increase from further lowered defense from the rao. If I was a betting man my money would be one the rao winning out on that but I could totally be wrong.
we can calculate this to some degree. Amulet of rao at 200 changes debuffs from 10% total to 15% total. Entwined rings of azar at 200, boost health by 20% of vit, at cr 378 thats approx 60k/5 =12k extra health. with the tetra/cog (at 200), 4% of your health is converted into might/prec. so the rings basically give an extra 480 might/prec. 5% extra defense reduction does sound more appealing tbh. I actually have both arts maxed, so I probably should have a look at this
5% defense will also boost any and all damage (except maybe orbitals) whereas you have to be swapping for all DPS to get the benefit of the rings and even then pet damage, misc damage, etc won’t be increased.
Best scenario i can see is that you get around 50k base health from all 3 artifacts, then with %health bonuses (40-45%?), it would be around 72.5k health: . WIth tetra: 2900 base might (almost an extra nitro), you have to compare it to the base might (without %might bonuses) to see how much the difference is.
It’s one of those archaic ones. Not really useful imo. Sure, it still has its usefulness, but nothing compared to the arts of today.
