Revive Legends

Legends is the 1 area of the game I actually want to play as an "Iconic" Character, however rn we have these problems:

Problem 1: Low Visibility & Low Rewards
    - To even queue Legends PVE you have to go to On Duty -> Custom Play Legends PVP Tab to select Legend -> Custom Play Events tab to Queue LPVE map. Only 1 map per day that gets Loot Locked and gives 0 Source Marks or Latest DLC Drops

    Potential Solutions for Problem 1:
    A. Make all LPVE maps available all the time & add Omnibus Legends Queue in Quick Play with pop-up to select Legend when Queueing. Remove the Loot Locks and give Source Marks as Drops. Maybe even a weekly Legends Omnibus Reward Box ideally with a drop from latest DLC like I wish Omni Boxes all gave.
    B. Keep the Loot Lock and 1 or 2 maps per day but give Latest DLC Drop choices like Daily Dose with a weekly for completing 5.

Could maybe even add more feat points for the higher counter feats. Like change the 750 and 1k counters from 1 Star feats to 3 or even 4 Star feats please.

    Problem 2: Slow Gameplay
    - Legends are so weak, it's like they're scaled to the bottom of the zone rather than the top, reducing the "fun factor" of playing these Iconic Heroes/Villains as they all feel like they're fresh off the Brainiac Ship.

    Potential Solutions for Problem 2:
    A. Buff Legends to the top of the zone. It's like they have 0 SP. Give them all max SP in Might & Prec. Spec them Superpowered. Or let it go off our own SP. Atleast please unlock the Weapon Masteries & Cross Weapon Combos.
    B. Give Legends Roles. Like make some tanks, some trolls, some heals and let us switch between the roles. Maybe can even then add Legends Raids.

P.S. Can you Gray out the disabled tabs when we're in Legends like the old Navigation Bar used to do? Or better yet make them work please. Like atleast enable the Traits tab so we can read what the powers do in our Loadouts.

Also would be nice when we have the Revive System update where small hits don't cancel cause rn it's basically impossible to do pickups or cogs even with a shield cause the shields on the few characters that have them are crazy weak too.

    Also please fix Ace Chemicals.

Tl;dr: make Legends easier to queue, give relevant rewards, buff Legends to make them more fun please.

Legend pve and pvp was my favorite thing its where I got 90% of my pvp feats and I was really sad at how weak I felt when I returned to dc in 2019. I would love 4 them to remove the loot lock.

I think the original idea behind LPvE was looking at how many people were trying to recreate iconic characters, and how many of them don't want to PvP.

LPvE was done in one stroke ... the existing set of feats, maps, scaling, everything was pretty much the one release and a few bug fixes. Probably someone said, we've got these existing assets, why don't we fuse them, add a bunch of long-term feats for hype and continued play, and see where it goes.

People hated it. The people that currently complain about clamping didn't like not feeling strong, the people that cosplay were happier having a hand in their own style and loadout, the people who PvP'd didn't like the addition of PvE feats, the people who enjoy beating new PvE content didn't like that it was a re-use of existing content. Even the people who liked the idea, didn't like that no one else wanted to queue for it.

And to add insult to injury I think someone crunched the math at the time and that it would take roughly 10 years of normal gameplay to get the feats.

These are great suggestions and there is a strong likelihood that they would get me playing it again. The reason I hated it was because of how insanely weak they made the characters. Im supposed to be superman FFS, and I feel like my punches are being made by a baby with a pillow.

I made a video not long ago about the exact topic (will link it at the bottom of my message.)

Legends can really be a fun and good mode. They really need to update the damage and they can easily reskin legends with available options already in the game. Skins can be sold on the MP alongside new Legends too, but then let us continue earn them in-game as members. I was working on a Zatanna Legend concept video but didn't get to record the stuff I wanted for it yet.

As I said in the other thread, 'Aegis of Truth' solo was the thing that got me to subscribe to DCUO back then (picking up membership, as episodes were locked behind membership.) As I told my friend a few days ago, "Only game that lets you properly play as Wonder Woman". (Don't say Injustice, this thing is not Wonder Woman lol) I think some of the Legends have very unique loadouts and can be even more fun if done right and having their damage scaled correctly. I can imagine they can use the 10x Legends Events to give skins of Legends considering how things have been.

I don't know how much development resources can go towards this mode right now or generally. But it is a great mode that with a little bit of love can be great again.

I could go with 1 new map a year (or 2), to give some incentive to running LPVE vs just working on the 750 and 1000 count feats. At 10 feat points each, they just aren't worth working on for people who already have all the other 'lower effort' LPVE feats, and you can only run Trigon's prison so many times before wanting to jump off a cliff.

And for those who are asking to make LPVE better, remember, the devs removed the exploding barrels in HOD Armory...so keep in mind how they might 'fix' things. Adding marks and gear to LPVE would likely mean increases in prices or worse drop rates, seeing as we'll have more avenues to collect them.

Would be nice if they gave us an infinite consumable with each purchase of a legends character to transform into that legends character visually .. similar to the old transformation consumables to turn into an Amazon etc …

I got my last remaining PvE Feat for Gotham Courthouse today, so I now never, ever, ever have to run that horrible instance again. There's literally nothing I like about it - not the visuals, the sounds, the gameplay, nothing, and I'm glad to be finally rid of it.

I'd take Courthouse over Paradox Wave any day. Besides the fact it's a huge amount of time for very little advancement, the fact that you can get 2 people stuck in the prison rooms, and that mechanic was designed for 6 other people to then help release them with the eggs...not 2 other people...2 people who can be dying as they are no longer grouped close enough for the group healing to work. Then there's groups that don't realize it's not 2019 Paradox Wave raid, where you can just go to the center and beat all the bosses at once. By now I'd guess most people learned to close the side tunnels, but I'd guess there are still those that would prefer to go to the center and fail 3 or 4 times before going the official route.

Congrats though. Yeah, I finished all my 'map' feats long ago, so it's all just counts for me now. If I were going to work on any, I'd probably work on ones I can double up on (getting ticks for hero/villain or male/female each time) till I finish all the 1000 counts...then I think I'd only do 'family' counts till I'd hit 250 or so. Those last 2 feats for 500 or 750 for all 7 families amount to 1.4 SP....not worth the 100's of runs it would take to get done.

Not saying I'm doing any of that...but IF I were, that's where I'd stop and write off the rest as 'do not attempt'.

Legends could of been a mini answer to Marvel Rivals but the DC version. They never cared enough sadly.
  13. SincerelyBusterScruggs Well-Known Player

Could of? Incorrect English aside, Legends PVP came about 13 years before Marvel Rivals. And was popular before Marvel Rivals was even a concept idea. You can't act like something that had its prime and died since then "could have" been a competititor to a brand new standalone PVP game. They're different eras, they're different genres(an MMOARPG containing pvp and a MOBA are not the same thing even slightly), and they're even completely different art styles. There have been DC-branded MOBAs and they failed miserably.

DCUO will never be a competitor to any other game as long they refuse to dump money into advertising. Nobody knows DCUO exists, so it can't compete. I've seen superhero categories in PlayStation, Xbox and switch stores and none of them contain or advertised DCUO. In the superhero game category.

I would love to see more legends pvp and PvE love, but it started as a form of pvp, and as long as pvp has a hands-off policy, I don't see any solution to this neglect problem. Maybe 2026 will be the year of pvp, but I doubt it.

When I said could of I meant as in once Marvel Rivals was getting some traction they could of looked at that and thought to upgrade what we had already into something similar to it. Obviously it could and would never compete with Rivals but at least it would be more fun than whatever we have right now.

Realistically they clearly do not have the budget to ever do that, or even to advertise the game like you are saying. However, people do know this game exists. I was randomly looking up videos of it on YouTube the other day and most videos consistently get around 30-100k+ views whenever they make videos revisiting the game after an "x" number of years. People just don't care enough to play it, and honestly the reason probably is because of the graphics. It's quite literally the first thing you see and it probably puts off a lot of would be players. Especially in this day and age, a game based on superheroes really does need to look flashy. But again they clearly do not have the budget to do that.

We are in a pit of nothingness when it comes to this game, just reworking small things we already have and releasing new EP's until the game eventually ends.

    Cyphers which launched in 2011.
    - Unreal Engine 2.5
    - Development over five years

    Story-wise:
    - 1860 is when powers start popping up.
    - Helios (good guys) and Underground Alliance (bad guys) build up and duke it out.
    - skip forward game starts around 1934 around 2nd Ability War (2nd World War, analogue)
With the central hub before MOBA-gameplay being called Twilight Square:

    Some MMORPGs have MOBA-modes:
    Final Fantasy 14's Rival Wings
    Neverwinter's Gauntlgrym/Stronghold
    Guild Wars 2's Stronghold/Reaper's Embrace
    New World's Outpost Rush
    Crystal of Atlan's Ancient Battlefield
Wildstar's War of the Wilds Adventure
    etc.

    If it is an MMORPG. Then, it usually can have a Battle Arena mode. For example;

With that, Legends PvP is probably easier to improve than Legends PvE. As PvE requires an extreme level of quality to be competitive today. While PvP-side not so much, the IP can carry the mode.
