It's been some thime sense i last played this game so long ago i didn't know about the daybreak merger, oh well was no big lose of my old SOE account. But anyways the questions i was wanting to ask is it game viable to have a character rely more on weapons, movement powers, and Iconic powers then the base powers? I remember when the game was first out you were gimping yourself doing that. What I mainly want is the best way to rely more on my weapons and either go a power set that will heal me or make it so i don't die. (I.E. doing a superman build with brawler as his main weapon flight(maybe some flight skill tree powers, and the superman iconic powers.) Are custom builds like that doable now? If so is there a site that list tested builds or a guide here on the forums?
Iconic Powers and Flight Powers are much improved. You can choose Weapon, Power or Hybrid for Skill load-outs. There are Augments and Artifacts that can improves Weapon Powers as well. You'll have a good time trying to figure it all out. Either way, you'll be fine.
I think id like to try all 3 and have a weapons expert, and hybrid focus, and superpowered focus to see which id like so any suggestions and weapons for the weapon mastery hero something that will be good damage and easy combos, for hybrid focus i was thinking either bows.rifle,or dual pistols with either gadgets or munitions, and no clue what power I'd like to do the superpower focus hero probably a power that will allow me to solo easy as i pve most of the time.
I have heard from others that hybrid doesn't work very well, but you can feel free to try it out. For ranged weapon damage dual wield - bow WM combos do the most damage. For melee I think it's bow - martial arts ( smoke bomb). You can use any power set for super powered. If you want to solo most PVE content, a tank power set (rage, atomic, earth, ice, fire) is usually the easiest to solo stuff with.
while the iconic powers are mainly supplemental to the power set powers now, using them to supplement main stay power set abilities is still viable with some like joker's box or sonic scream so that's worth a try as is heat vision (which now benefits from an artifact called solar amplifier), and i believe solar amplifier amped heat vision would mesh perfectly if you're going for a kryptonian sort of character. but as far as super powered or hybrid goes, it's not really recommended if you're going almost sans power set abilities and powers as supercharged is recommended for trollers/power users who spam power set abilities and hybrid is recommended for healers who use both though a tank using a combination of heals, power tray abilities, and a weapon would still somewhat benefit using hybrid so if going for a tank powerset with a split between using weapons and a few powers going hybrid with a split spec in weapon master might be the best route. weapon master-dps, hybrid-tank/healer, and supercharged-troller.
The easy combos are usually the ones with the least number of clicks because not all clicks register if you are mashing as fast as you can xD This is what I suggest. So i went with a dual pistols Munitions running in hybrid as of now hes 16th level, this will probably be my main. Was wondering whats a easy to use power set to get into for tank or controller (besides munitions which I'm doing already) wanna try doing a Superpowered focused toon it dosent have to be the best endgame power i dont know if i'll be playing it that long( i have a short attention span) looking for something thats very forgiving in solo play and when i do alerts with others?
Quantum is probably the best for trolling but it’s close and there are certainly dissenting opinions on that. I love my gadgets for DPS but am a little jealous of quantum on the trolling side. Also, while the bow to smokebomb is the best melee WM combo, for ST damage, the MA to HB uppercut is a very close 2nd IMO.
So I'm still alt jumping my main character so far is Anra Verkar a villainous Sinestro Corp member she 103CR, Iv been thinking of other super powered characters and weapon expert characters, even trying my hand a a few iconic currently working on a speedster if you read the last page of the DC characters load outs you will see my questions on him but what i'm wanting to know is I'm thinking of going celestial power and was wondering would i be severely Hamstring the character running him as a hybrid superpower dps / healer, I understand that i'm not gonna be the best at either butwill a be so crap trying to dual role? I know i could get another armory and have one loaded for dps and one for healer but i dont got the marketplace cash to purchase one so im thinking a hybrid dps/healer. any thought on if this will work or not.
I would suggest carrying the second set of gear and building your artifacts & augments at the same time. Play both roles the best the you can and you will be fine.
i have a character working on the deadly handshake feat so i can buy the venom wrist dispenser after hes got it bought can any of my character now purchase it from the quark vendor or do the also gotta do the feat?
yes i have eyes of the dusk and I'm at 5/10 for the deadly handshake and the same i think for the other 2 ones you need to collect the 10 items for the feat to get the artifacts
