Request To Devs: Put Super Speed change in WIP so everyone can share their opinion

    Situational tbh i mainly use sinestro so im not spamming bbs in the air its not fun to me .ive been known to wind up a smoke bomb from above though and its mostly successful when i q 4s and up, very successful actually at catching people below unaware. people generally let me know if i should pull it off or bb too lots of keen blockers around. On the odd occasion i use lex then yeah if im countered ill use my breakout and carry on with the fight hopefully grabbing immunity somewhere but if i see the opportunity ill be up in the air again for a bit.

    If your asking do i stand out of flight fighting up close then generally no. Not unless im using a toon with something im planning to jump cancel. But because thats not my style of play doesnt make it any less viable i see it all the time in legends im a big fan of smoke bombing the range spammers from behind because i know in a q if i dont deal with them theres a real good chance nobody else will and we'll lose . Also being flight helps immensely with these guys. A whole lot easier to see from eye level or above with a decent camera angle than having to deal with a terrible view when you try to lock from below as ss for instance.

    My argument is still in ps scrims if your ss your at a disadvantage before you begin because our movement skill tied to jump isnt usable after all this time and after no discussion in 80 odd pages of a wip thread, albeit about 50 of those were giggles wanting ht mods kept :/ all the while both other mm skills are fine to use. Is that balance? if your asking me would i or do i leave mm off in pvp then no and it will be notable which mm is easiest to focus in pvp afterwards.

    Edit : i am referring to u42 flywheel changes when its being completely disabled not how it is on test right now

    Sparty's video which The Enquirer was kind of enough to quote and post on page 4 of this thread, and quoted above my response here, proves without a shadow of a doubt why Super Speeds Inertial Flywheel needs to be brought into balance during combat. It is clearly vastly superior in its current state compared to Flight and Acrobatics.

    Furthermore, Sparty's video completely discredits Silvers videos aka KilltheSilence, because none of Silvers videos were done on the test server, or during actual PvP combat. I also feel if they decided to make Super Speeds Dash Attack into a regular power once again, they would need to do the same for Flights Dust Off and Acrobatics Perfect Poise, as they are the same caliber of escape moves. The devs would also need to ensure that Dash Attack could not be exploited in the same manner as it once was prior to Dash Attack becoming a Super Charge ability.

    The changes to Flywheel need happen for balance sake, as proven in the video above, and I sincerely hope the devs do not budge on this matter and finish the complete fix for Inertial flywheel during combat in GU42, for blatantly obvious reasons. :)

    I'm fine with dash attack being a regular tray ability. It just has to mirror backflip and swoop attack in terms of combat ability.

    I agree if it mirrors those two abilities, it would be fine, but it shouldn't be allowed in its current state to be a regular tray power, because that would just be the new "flywheel" for getting away during combat. If they want to use it as an escape move, it should remain a SC in my opinion, but if they want an attack similar to swoop and backflip, I agree. :)

    Maybe the new season, but in the current season I don't think he would be as effective. Usps current top teams are good at FF and counters.

    This gets overlooked so often. No 1 says clutch wouldn't cut it in 5s. I dont know what role other than dps or tank he'd play. Good players are good players but the arrogance attached to that can be too much . To wildly claim pc are so much better than ps gets me. That's guys who have done nothing but 5s for years. Being great at 1v1 counters does not a 5s player make. An example would be any of the awesome duallers that cant make the jump to 5s theres more than just counter punishment going on there. Teamwork over individual skill wins most often. 5 on mic vs 5 not on mic my cash goes on the mic group every time when skills equal. These changes will increase his potency for sure . I dont underestimate anyone proven to be one of the very best on his server but equally i dont underestimate pc players on account of their server neither do i think every pc player has clutchs ability. Good players are good players always will be too much **** measuring goes on when it comes to who is best or who knows best

    Are these changes for pvp only, or are the super speed changes for both pve and pvp? If it is for pvp only I would mind, but it wouldn't make me angry (I would still prefer they make flight and acro on par with the current super speed, or slightly decrease the horizontal and vertical distance of flywheel, rather than disabling it outright). However, if this change is for both then I have many problems with it. Considering how many instant kills are in the game, that give very little leeway in the amount of time you have to dodge, there would be huge degree of complaints from the super speed player base.

    You can do the same thing all other Flight and Acrobatic players do, Block and/or time your roll appropriately. I have been flight since beta, and I have had no trouble with any of the mechanics you speak of.

    So what you are saying is, you rely heavily on this broken mechanic to complete PvE content? I was just curious, but this is exactly what it sounded like to me. You see, in most PvE content, Flight is disabled, like in PW and each time the artifact aura spawns in LockDown. If I can do it without Flywheel, so can you.

    Flight and Acro are fine, Speed's flywheel needs to be brought into balance with the other two movement modes. :)

    Balance? Learn the definition then learn to apply it specifically to this subject and tell me how its balance? Don't play the i get by card. Hold x to fly unless grounded . Double jump as acro in combat with x now what does x as ss do as of the changes? Nah the devs are fecking this right up.

    The fact its going in pve shows how ridiculous this is probably cant seperate in from pve if true. Flight was preferred in pve particularly through the fos era when a floating troll with a pull was a god send. Your self serving rhetoric of balance adapt blah blah is transparent its in no way balance. Enquirer in testing says a little underpowered not as bad as is being made out. Clutch admits it leaves ss behind you are the only 1 claiming balance. A little underpowered? By definition its not balanced then. Whats hard to understand here

    One other thing and this one's for the devs. Learn a lesson from u36 and w.m. on ps at least EUPS all serious pvpers are ss. Its bread and butter of competitive pvp. To the point for us on play station its as much of a standard mechanic as blocking. Its the STYLE of play we love and sub for. You killed pvp since that update killed leagues infact. Took the crown jewels and turned them to a turd and not even a polished one. We just had to suck on it till now.

    I said before u36 it was a huge gamble and in hindsight it didnt pay off for the majority. The unique thing about this game got torn apart. Wm is effective but its not fun and thats why eu is a ghost town . Theres nothing to make us log. LOTS of us have high hopes for this update but make no mistake it's a watershed moment.

    you change too much of what people enjoy and they flee its simple. I include myself in that and almost to a man my league. This is it for us and after 5k hours 3 years and thousands of pounds ill be gone so will lot more and wont be back . This isnt a stupid quit post like you see around im stating this as a matter of fact you guys have the facts and figures. If you can afford to lose our income great more power to you then but id expect a bit more respect shown to the guys on ps who for years have paid for the car you're driving home in tonight. This 1 change is going to completely change 5v5 for the worse on ps servers nay sayers can say bye to me all they like but the fact is i am a dcuo fanboy there i admitted it at least i was but this will probably be the final chapter for me and dc. Such high hopes just a few months ago now its looking bleak. If i feel like this god knows how non dc fanboys feel. Infact i know i speak with them regularly its not postable here. Id appreciate any feedback from ps players , 5s players specifically can you guys see what im getting at here?

    I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder. I can understand you being biased as a Super Speed user, now you will be subjected to the same stipulations as the other players who utilize Flight and Acro during combat. Regardless of whether we can hover upwards or not, it does not happen any faster than walking during combat.

    The fact that Super Speed can just double jump and ignore the combat slow the other two movement modes are subjected to, is unbalanced and needs to be brought in line, which is precisely what is happening. Also, your main complaint is it is effecting PvE. Well guess what? It still is not fair that one movement mode has the ability to move fast enough during combat while the others cannot. Nothing ch ages the fact that Super Speed is currently vastly superior in combat regardless of whether it is PvE or PvP.

    Oh and trust me, I'm not playing the "I get by card", I'm playing the " if I'm good enough to do it without a crutch, then everyone else can also do it without a crutch" card, or aka he balance needs to happen card. :)

    You never answered me wheres the balance with the change afterwards? Can dance around it all you like it still comes back the same answer. rocket glide & jump, flying in combat, standing on the floor as if grounded. Sounds to me like ps pvpers are about to get milked for a tenner. It doesnt ignore combat slow either flywheel is slowed in combat. What my issue is as is clear by now is removing it altogether. Its lazy and leaves it unbalanced afterwards. If it needs adjusting then do it but this is stupid. This will be the last ill respond to you on this

    From my understanding you don't even scrim m8... you want balance? You were arguing that white mods should remain in PVP a few months back lol

    jim is an oldschool pvper from a league which I hold massive respect, A league that I want to have their A teams on the server cause you are always guaranteed a great fight, what he is saying is true.

    Personally I feel SS will get the shaft and GU 36 killed the game for many in the PVP community (which I hope once all powers are revamped they nerf it to hell and just be a thing of the past with the bonus SP innates)

    Thankfully GU41 and the first part of season 3 will show why SS is needed in 5s -

    Don't forget Acro has grapple line too.

    As others have posted in this thread with requests to now also want additional balance to the other movement modes if this goes live, which was my point on page 1, when you change something ppl love, they get pissed, then it becomes a witch hunt to change & make others pay as well so they can feel the same burn. Some people like to provoke & see others suffer for their own personal enjoyment just to get their Giggles on. Eventually it all gets nerfed balanced so hard that no1 is happy with the shell it all has become. The main thing every1 I know liked about this game was the fast paced combat system...Why does this game have to keep getting slower?

    A few weeks ago every1 was complaining about Circe flying & kitting & all the players abusing acro in arenas...lets gets passed this balance of everything BS (we all know its never gona happen) & leave whats worked for the past 4 years in place & focus on generating new content & maps. Let things have advantages & disadvantages....thts called diversity, choices, options. No other game spends so much frivolous time trying to make everything exact.
