Sounds like you have a piece from the event. The purple drops from the normal raids, alert, solo, and outdoor missions are 243
Yea if you are not 264+ running open world or the event versions, the cr pieces will be lower. Now running the on-duty content event while over 264, those will still drop event gear
Yea you purchased the event vendor gear. It’ll never be the same cr as the dropping purple gear found in end game version of the content
Do you mean the purple vendor gear? That's the free player gear. How have you got to cr 278 and not know that?
Yeah those boxes are meant to be bought by those who are playing the event version, or players in the episode's relevancy that may need the style from it, if you're on the episode's relevancy you should get the normal gear from the other vendors. I think it was last episode when they decided to make different vendors for each of the gear options (event, normal and elite) and the repair machine.
Hmm... Your high CR doesn't matter if you are playing the event version; you will get that purple box drop. You have to play the Normal/Elite version to get the higher CR gear. As far as the vendors, yes, the vendors were separated via JLD content. The vendor with the Origin Augments will have the Normal gear. The vendor with the event gear will have the purple gear boxes and that is where the devs place the extra content goodies for sale. The vendor with the Elite gear will have something unique for sale; in this case a collection piece.
