One of OC's last census vids showed how Nature is the lowest population on DCUO (not much has changed since). Nature is the power for Forms & DoTs/HoTs! And now all the forms are supercharges! From Obsidian Chill's Census vid: Many things have been nerfed from the time I created my Nature toon like: - Regeneration used to give healing & power - Metabolism used to accelerate healing - Harvest used to do damage and heal (like arc lightning) - Pterosaur Form removed completely - Wolf/Insectoid forms are now supercharges Currently, Nature has 8 supercharges: - 2.5k: Canine form - 5k: Wolf form, Insectoid form, Gorilla form, Regeneration, Carnivorous Plants, Rampage - 10k: Chaotic Growth Currently: - Healers use Chaotic Growth for a 10k EoG, and Regeneration for the HoT - DPS use Gorilla for the 40% damage buff & AoE Impaling Thorns, very very few run Wolf form for the crits Basically no one uses any of the other supercharges so perhaps they could use a buff. I believe Wolf/Insectoid forms were set to be 5k supercharges from 2.5k sc's as a nerf to EoG, which has been adjusted, so my only requests: 1. Make Wolf/Insectoid forms non-supercharges again (to work like Invisibility/Stealth again). 2. Buffing Rampage to a usable state like Circuit Breaker would be nice too, like reducing the cooldown & buffing the crits or making it a flat damage buff Also, the new Iconic Spore Cloud is the perfect power to get the "Poison" Power Interaction. Like how other iconics give Frostbite/Burning/Daze etc. But I understand it'd likely make it too strong for Nature. Also note, Carnage (weapon buff) gives 0 supercharge for some reason, while others like Wired for electricity gives 39sc
They did via Poison Ivy ally which was released two months after that OC video. Nature is probably the top DPS power in the game right now, in large part to Pamela P.I. Isley.
Every time they touch Nature, they mess it up. I think a lot of Nature players like myself, even if they agree with some of these points, just want them to leave it alone. I like where it is. Not OP in DPS, not shabby either ... with its tailored ally. I'm more scared of them touching it than I care for some of these changes. I didn't know about Carnage, that could be fixed. Most of what you've listed centers around supercharges. As much as I'd love to go back to the freedom of shapeshifting, it's not the same as Stealth and Invisibility. Those, you don't get to keep, and you drop out of them. And, there's no second (or more) forms allowing you to have multiple loadouts chained together. The more I think about it, these new iconic abilities, and the upcoming ability to equip 5 artifacts, could allow for an intense rotation not inline with what other powersets can do, if we went back to multiple forms. Don't get me wrong, it's sad and I miss form changing being a regular ability. I do think it's possible to make it work ... like maybe only allow dot/hot powers to go in it, or else you drop out of form. But, I don't trust them not to throw Nature way out of equalibrium if they touch it.
Nature doesn't need to be rebalanced, you've already been sold the fix in the form of the ally Poison Ivy, it's already over performing once you've leveled her, so much so, it should probably be nerfed.
Seems those stats are old seeing how the screenshot “as of 3/18/23”. That said I was always able to perform well with nature even before poison ivy came out. Nature is one of my favorite and best powers. The main issue I have with nature is that all its transformations are SCs. Other than that it’s an extremely versatile power set. I currently have 12 armories on my nature all with different set ups just because of how versatile it is. This comes with pros and cons. To min max you need more set ups than other powers. But that means you can adjust performance based on what is needed. I think it should be left where it is just because of how much min maxing it requires to bring outs its max potential. Something most won’t even be able to do.
Every power set needs a rebalance as of 2025. Won't happen. Powercreep through artifacts, augments, and soon overhauled allies is designed to effectively invalidate any powerset imbalances through sheer stat modification. As long as they keep pretending PVP doesnt exist, they can keep developing and designing the game towards a PVE-only gameplay, which requires 1/10 the balancing consideration of PVP. And the design of adding more powercreep rather than changing anything that already exists is part of the future engagement focus.
