Rage DPS - Prec Might or Prec

To all the rage dps out there, do you use prec & might in red sockets or prec?

I'm not a Rage DPS but I know that you should spec for full precision since the majority of your damage is coming from the Savage State combos.

I personally used Prec might in the reds and then balanced precision and might in the other sockets with more of a focus in precision. This way all of your attacks are hitting for a reasonable amount of damage, but I know others who spec purely precision and do very well.

Pure Might if you want to be "that guy", don't be "that guy" but if you want to be "that guy" you can say I told you to mod pure might

Depends on your rotation really. For a ranged rotation with mainly DB spam go full Precision. For my pure melee rotation I found that Prec&Might or pure Prec didn't make a significant difference in damage output, it just shifted the damage around a bit. Since the melee combos all only have one input (except for Frenzy) such a setup has a slightly larger amount of Might damage than a DB build. In any case your Precision damage will dominate, and if you want to play ranged, play a hybrid melee rotation that includes DB or just have the option to max out your range damage then go for full Prec.

Go full precision if you use MELEE as a Rage DPS with Gailing Eruption.

If you are ranaged using Plasma Retch than go balanced. If you are range using Gailing Eruption go full precision.

Please keep in mind you should always have BLOODLUST active to maximize your damage as a Rage DPS.

They need to answer if there is a precision cap or not. At 5000 you should be hitting like a truck. I don't and didn't see that.

I have seen some Rage players out damage Quantum but those players were using Melee. Those that used Range in the instnace I ran are usually behind even Light DPS players.

As for Neck Mod I would go with Fortify Blocking for those times you do melee and need to block to survive.

Pure precision. I'm currently mismodded with prec+might in my reds and 80% of damage comes from precision. This is high enough that you would probably be able to safely ignore the might related socket affinities as well and increase damage per second.

Due to Dreadful Blast's 3rd combo being your hard-hitter, especially if you're using your AM, I personally go pure Prec. In fact, I ignore the 2 Ability Attack Chance mod bonuses from my gear and go straight Prec in them as well, giving me a total of 8, rather than 6 pure Prec mods.

I might be switching to Rage but I'm curious whats the Melee loadout

E. Chain, OutRage, Gailing Eruption, Dreadful Blast, Resentless Anger, and BloodLust

That is what I had in my loadout so I can range and melee with my Rage toon.

So Damage wise the Melee loadout is stronger than the ranged loadout and why no Berzerk

What would your rotation be?

I have no berserk as I have DB in its place as you cannot melee all end game content. I made this loadout so that it is flexible to range and melee if needed.

If you really wanted Berserk you can remove DB.

Rotation.

Ressentless Anager, clip Blood lust, Gailing Eruption combo, E. Chain combo, Outrage combo, E. Chain, Outrage, etc...

I kep Gailing Eruption active along with keeping Bloodlust and Resentless Anger always active as well.

E. Chain works great when enemies health drops below 35% and Outrage works great when your health drops below 50%.

I honestly hated Rage as it was so melee focused, so I switched to Earth.

As for Tanking, I do like Rage tanking but missed Earth's aftershock tanking as that to me was the best fun I had as a tank.

Really didn't understand why my rage dpsing was lacking. Bloodlust. I didn't have it. Only rage dpsing for marks for better tank gear but more dpsing will help that go by faster.

You can use revenge instead of dreadful blast if you want a pure melee loadout.

Galling should be used first because relentless anger and bloodlust both clip powers.

when I was Rage, I used Prec. Seemed to work pretty good.
