They work together. Mercy is an ability that causes your robot sidekick, fury, or crystal to do a special attack that does decent damage. Source shard gives an ability that will buff 1/2/3 pets and causes them to do more damage. If you buff RSK/fury/crystal that special attack will also do more damage. This also works for the special attack quislet does when you use a SC. If quislet is buffed when you use a SC its attack will do more damage. This is why it’s advised to use quislet + a SC when pet dpsing
To elaborate a bit more, Source Shard's Godwave affects all combat pets, including, tray, trinket, and artifact pets. In general, they work extremely well with each other and the more pets, the better. Especially with the new Elite Henchmen existing now. There is no downside to run Source Shard, unless you just don't like playing with pets or prefer a different play style. Honestly, having 5 artifacts available, I can start running with Quislet again, since it lost best in slot due to how good Omega was. I'm going to be happy to have him back. I know some of my league mates hate his banter, but I love it! Pateww!
Not sure if this has changed since I last tried source shard, but doesn’t it only buff 3 pets at a time (at 200)? So more would mean less chance of key pets getting the buff. Unlike zatana (ally) which buffs all pets without a cap (that I’m aware of). Also. I’m curious about henchmen with shard. The none elite henchmen it was actually a damage loss to use them with source shard. However the new henchmen actually do more base damage. And don’t 2 of the henchmen primarily attack with the 3rd using the special skill (these ones use the orbs that heal). This would mean that 2 have higher base dps than the 3rd. Not sure how it can be tested to see their base dps and know if they are worth using with source shard
You are correct on it only helping 3 pets, but it still is a net positive, even if it doesn't hit your tray pet. The new Elite Henchmen all attack and do really well with Godwave activation. Zatanna only buffs your tray pet. (RSK, Crystal, Fury) Emperor Aquaman buffs all pets when you take a hit. I always giggled when you would be upset with the regular henchmen getting the buff, but in the thick of it, that isn't make or break for me even with the old lair henchmen. Personally, I'm usually more upset when I jump accidentally jump cancel MAM's explosion. I get the green shields on the pets, but no damage occurs. lol That's a lot of damage loss. Yes, you can jump cancel it. Heck, I've also been interrupted by enemies too. Pet builds have it rough. /s
Wait, zatana buffs only tray pets? Could’ve sworn it buffed art pets too. Haven’t really used it since it came out since it’s more of a guilty pleasure than something that was optimal lol Regarding henchmen. Before elites came out, it was normally something I avoided since I don’t swap anything. So I’d rather run trinket pet, trinket buff, original, and supply drop. This was to prevent the reg henchmen from getting the buffs. Since I didn’t rotate any utility items it was a net loss having the henchmen steal the buffs over using one of the other utility items and guaranteeing the tray pet and quislet got the buffs. The tray pet getting the buff during mercy/offering/fortify and quislet get with a SC was always better than having the henchmen get the buff. Haven’t done any testing at all with the elite henchmen so I’ll take your word for it.
You'll want Grim for pet dps, since you'll get no push back on passive power regeneration when trinket/ability pets are active. Ifa big pets/henchmen are a significant part of your playstyle - especially considering that elite henchmen last a lot longer.
I use pets all the time and have no idea what you're talking about. Pets are insanely useful when it comes to escorting ghosts.
For example, if you get the Purple Arrows during the Felix Faust fight, pets/henchmen that are close to you gets 1 shotted. Also...Allys can get stunned by bosses/raid mechanics and do nothing. After the stun is over they go away.
I have both wolfpacked at 200 quizlet far out damage the grim but both do different things. Grim put p.i. and stops the power regen debuff that happens when using pets. Quizlet increases sc regen and does a super hit every 5 sec as you doing dps and does i sc of it own when you hit 1 base off the sc cost. But when I did compare the dps I didn't compare Quizlet sc just its normal dps and again it was more the x2 grim in damage output.
That will only happen if you fight close to Faust. Some abilities/trinkets will have downsides depending on the instance and NPC. It's completely normal. They're reworking allies so they can stay longer during fights, so I think that problem will be solved soon. Teekl is the most volatile of them - if the gets attacked, if there's anything in the way, he will play dumb and leave lol
I hate people that want certain feats in pug q's because it slows down a run that was supposed to be fast. It forces me to pull arts i spent time and money on all because some random wants" don't kill this add"when your supposed to form for that bs. I also hate how mechanics take away my pets when I get a transformation put on me or how a boss aoe kills my pets because the pets doesn't stay at my side.
I actually enjoy summoner builds in many games. Dcuo really makes it clunky to do that. I still think pets should scale off health while in dps stances. This way pets could scale without double dipping with might or prec. But that’s a whole different story lol
I use quiz at 200 on all my dps for the SC gen. But I do have to play with the sound off because I can't take those effects.
I think Tunso said that Pets have their own calculations separate from your character. IE, they can't scale off your stats and only scale based on your equipped CR. Which means that they would have to increase the bulk on the pets base stats to work with them. (They have in the past, especially with Brick, who is supposed to be a tank.) So far, they have been adding things that can actually work with pets, so it may eventually be possible to get a working Pet system that actually is influenced by the player's stats and not some random automatons that you pray would not stand in a damage circle. (Albeit, MAM's shielding helps a lot.)
I really like the suggestion being put forth here, ability to rank up pets. I just want some use of these SPs that we've gathering for the past 14 years aside from meeting a numbers ceiling. Do players have a choice yet on what Pets to put on their LO? I.e. tank pet, heal pet or troll pet? It's been a while since i actually looked at my Sorcery toon but it's the only one that has the distinct characteristic to have 3 types of Pets available in it's regular LO options.
Well I use pets all the time and I can clearly see with my own eyes that they miss their target quite often it's a high risk high reward type of play style which definitely needs to be overhauled. Pets henchmen allies trinket pets and what not should not be in the way and also should not attack what so ever in dcuo. These things need to be a passive type of buff and that's how you fix this game and clean up combat. Dcuo is such a messy combat experience it's absolutely outrageous
