I've played this game on and off since beta on pc, ps3, ps4 and now just re-downloaded it on my ps5 since I have not played in a long time I got the itch to try it again.

Back when I played you used powers and then your weapon together to regenerate power and it was fun because it was like having 2 different skill bars essentially. Now from my understanding you are tied into one or the other, so if I choose super-powered I am just carrying a weapon around for looks and nothing else? Or vice versa I focus on my weapon and my skills are pointless besides maybe buffs etc.

If I'm understanding this right they have essentially locked you into one or the other and made the other one obsolete based on what you picked? I don't really understand these changes, anytime you remove skills or abilities or more importantly player choice this is not considered a positive thing, more options and abilities are better.

If someone could confirm or correct me if I'm wrong I would appreciate it. I always liked using both my skills and weapon abilities together but based on what I've been reading its one or the other now and that's pretty disappointing.

    Thank you for any input.

There is a hybrid option. It is probably the closest to what you remember. You use your powers and regen power with your weapon

How nerfed am I if I chose this option vs one of the others if at all? Thanks.

You're not nerfed in the way of stats but as far as playstyle for DPS the hybrid option sucks. It's great for support roles tho.

I prefer to go superpower focus. Lorax is right though, hybrid is best for support roles. It's really not my cup of tea. I was just throwing it out there that it was an option.

You can sort of be a hybrid DPS but that’s separate from the hybrid option in the SP tree. That is for support roles only. I’m mostly precision based but clip in six might powers along with my weapon buff so my might stat/damage is pretty significant.

Thanks for the replies I appreciate it.

Welcome back to the game. And yeah hybrid is an option but if you wanna be a serious player running through "elite content" you're almost cornered to pick one or the other. And not just a skill points commitment you're prob used to. Because you could always respec. Now that you can have Artifacts levels to 200, it's also a financial commitment lol

you can just use superpower trait. everything gives you energy back on kill. the only time you have to build your energy back is in raids. alerts and under all mobs will give you energy on kill. there is no need to play hybrid.

from another returning player, this is how i feel some users are "playing" this game... [IMG]

The in game text language is user selected, right? So when it says, Don't attack her while she blocks. They can read it, no? When it says bring the two NPCs together to end the Fury, they can read that, right?

    English hard.

Don't forget they are also not able to read the chat box text where it says "If you keep using orbitals, we'll keep getting adds and dying"...yet, somehow....more orbitals.

I like to imagine an angry teenager reading the chat box and screaming at the screen "YOU'RE NOT MY DAD!" before activating his orbital strike.

    Sounds about right.

I've put in chat before "You know...the 250 skeletons kills feat is not on 1 run, right?"...cause sometimes I think that's what they are after.

Precision dps is played like the kind of dps you remember. You're still using your damage powers to clip. And then clipping those... And clipping those too.
