Hello, I've been watching some vids recently of people using the shield weapon and noticed an odd pattern, so I come to ask for some clarification (or theories). In the vids I notice that all the people that were using the shield (each vid was of a different person and a different power) were using it exclusively as a ranged weapon instead of as a melee weapon as it is labeled as. So I'm wondering is the shield's range aspect so good as to make it better as a ranged weapon or is this just one long string of coincidences of people who are pretending to be Xena and the shield their Chakram?
If its T5 raids then everyone is using a weapon at range. I use dw, staff, and shield almost exclusively with my dps rotations. People use the shield because it hits hard and can be nicely clipped.
Nah, actually been kinda having problems finding vids for the new raid (probably since I don't even know what it's called, lol) and these videos were either about potential dps loadouts, or a person in the open world just going about their questing as they show off their powers or just talk about... I dunno, was hard to tell sometimes really.
The range attack is very strong, clippable, and easy. The melee for shield can be complicated. Because of the flow of the attacks you can do the three tap hold then three more taps and a hold and it flows into the six tap hold even though you did two sets of three taps. It can be very, very good. Its just harder to use.
