Quality of Life Suggestions to the Developers From a Dedicated Player

    The people who have grinded out their Lpve feats would feel just like those who had their 250 wins in pvp arenas. Like poo, but no one asked the vets how they felt before the feats were basically given away. Why care now?

    The idea of an improved money system was very well-received actually. The problem was that people wanted there to be an account-wide cash amount, which was the very well-received part, where you and possible very, very, very few others wanted to downgrade that idea to still have characters hold their own amount of cash with better ways to transfer it around. Either way is an improvement, which everyone wants, it's just that having cash be account-wide was the most preferred option.

    One thing I had a recommendation for quality of life that wasn't addressed, in a great post, was stat clamping and having it apply to old content so the community as a whole can all benefit from old content such as the FOS/Batcave Raids. These two are just an example but would apply to all content starting all the way from tier 1.

    I played FFXIV online and they had a system where they threw all "dungeons" into a daily roulette. People at the end game content would still queue for this daily roulette and it would mix in with people who actually need it for progress. When the end game tiered player got in they were clamped to the highest possible level that dungeon would allow, so if they were a lvl 60 character with CR of 200 and got matched to a CR 100 dungeon they would be clamped to that.

    Apply this concept to DCUO and reward end game players with what would seem beneficial to them in they're current CR. Instead of having daily pre-selected content for the tiers, example of today's tier 1 alert being Area 51 and tomorrow being a different instance, have it just be random for people who no longer need it for tier 1 items. So for example someone in tier 1 really needs to run Outter Batcave but doesn't have any league memebers to help or friends to help and wants to Queue up for matchmaking. A lot of people are no longer in that tier, but if the daily was beneficial to everyone with tireless rewards like more bytes, bit clusters that count towards gathering feat, prestige, base items, unattuned gear, or a special mark that is only used for buying all styles possible, like villain styles for heroes and vice versa, they will queue into this daily roulette they will all get matched into the players that queued into outer Batcave that needs it. And instead of having end game players queue into it at CR 188 for a Batcave raid, clamp tier stats to highest possible for that raid, so the content needs to be run through correctly and challenging still. Currently there are tons of instances that were released in the original game that are really fun, and I would love to run them again as they were intended in difficulty. This will also open up the community to all play with each other regardless of tier and not needing to wait and search forever for a group to run a FOS raid for newer players. What do you guys think? This is just an option to clamp for a daily roulette for old content, if you still want to run through old content with your current CR to steam roll through things by yourself for a missing style for a feat, it's still possible and the norm of how things are structured. I'm suggesting Dailies and weeklies be reworked so they help out newer players to this game running old content while still rewarding players who are no longer in that CR range for content. This will also help players stay legendary for all content because they would play all of it, old and new

    hmm..another suggestion...i would like to see some patches for old content...i mean there are still a lot of broken alerts, raids, instances, solos, duos, and just areas in general..I would think 60% of anything you can que for has glitches.

    1) Do you know what quality of life means? It's the normal crap that is broken or can use improvements to make things better for players. Stats clamping is not a quality of life issue, please stay on topic or make your own. Don't hijack someone else's topic for your own agenda.

    2) ****, I hate stats clamping. It sucks so hard. I worked my way up the CR latter, why do I want to go back and struggle through Khandak again with pugs who have no clue what the mechanics are? NO THANK YOU.

    3) I don't understand you stats clamp everything people. If you all want everything clamped, why even have a leveling system at all??? What would be the point of leveling in that context? Leveling wouldn't mean anything at all because no matter what level you are, you have to be XYZ stat in the content. So again, **** with that terrible idea.

    4) If you want to make stats clamping optional, I'm ok with that. In fact, I'd even support you if that was your platform, because I think people should have a choice on whether or not they want to be clamped.

    TL: DR - GET YOUR OWN THREAD AND STOP WITH THAT CLAMP NONSENSE

    Stats clamping isn't a quality of life problem though, and using it as the answer for one doesn't really work, either. Currently, stats clamping is usually used in situations where putting everyone on an even playing field fits the content; seasonals, major events, these things rely on overworld interaction with other players of varying CR levels, where leaving the high CR players to be unclamped will just end up with them one-shotting everything and getting all the credit, and the low CR players suffering cheap deaths and slow progress.


    This is very different from the content we have on the On Duty menu, however. Here, the content is intentionally divided by tier and/or the sliding scale of relevancy, In other words, something like the Fortress of Solitude raids is intentionally balanced for players levelling up through that content rather than for everyone that happens to be in there. Balancing each and every one of those instances for stats clamping would not only be time consuming, but also difficult to pull off without reworking how some of those old raids work entirely.


    And besides all that, it still wouldn't solve the main problem I pointed out. Even when clamped, a veteran player will still have an advantage over a novice, and will likely still carry them.
