Now after reading that the PS4 will have a user replaceable HDD, I'm kinda sad I didn't just go with a much larger SSD.... LOL

Bought 2 days ago a SSD for my ps3 and its like day and night... I can fly how fast i want to and everything is built up fine. Every exo or collection can be seen from far away. The only downside for the devs i dont need scanner from now on to farm superboy statues. :D

Same issue. The buildings are partially blurred from a distance and I have to fly over to them for it to slowly develop. Not to mention that when I land in certain areas after flight I start taking damage at rapid paces since the enemies don't render quick enough. They're practically invisible and they can hit me but I won't be able to hit them if I try it.

Wouldn't be surprised. PS4 is a huge cashcow for lots of gaming companies so I'm sure as of now that many people are trying to arrange business deals with Sony so that their pockets will be greener. I am positive that DCUO PS3 will have even further issues and I'm not doubting for a second that PS4 DCUO users will be receiving a lot more of attention so that smoother gameplay is possible while all of us PS3 users are trying to have fun but glitching up the wazoo with no attention being drawn as quick as it should be.

I know people don't want to throw more money at their PS3's with PS4 around the corner, but the SSD makes a huge difference. The point that made me finally buy one was when Deadmeat mentioned they had to make major changes to the unreal engine to make it pull from the HDD because the limited RAM in the PS3.

If only he would've said that a year ahead of time I would've bought an SSD much sooner.

I have noticed the same, my SSD HD renders everything so much faster

Since GU27 has gone to the live servers I've been seeing all the cutscenes rendered now (USPS3). Although not every time does the audio play for them. Mute cutscenes are still better than no cutscenes though. The only other rendering issue I'm still seeing is when new enemies are spawned in an area. The enemies are invisible but can attack us. Once they become shadow enemies we can then begin attacking them.

Yeah i think the rendering issue comes from the hardware. We cant blame the devs that the HD from the ps3 is crap. With the SSD runs dcuo way better and other games like skyrim aswell. Im glad i invested that money in my ps3. And its really easy to change the HD. Only annoying thing is to download the whole game again :D

This is an ongoing issue that we are investigating. We'll update when we have more information.

    Always appreciated, kind sir.

Here's a bit of reporting that might help you with some of it: Since U27, the rendering on player-involved Cutscenes has been significantly better (walking into Dr. Fate's room in the Ops, for instance). However, on occasion - usually nights when the population is high - we'll either see shadows or players and NPCs will be invisible.

One place in which this actually affects gameplay is in the Bizarro Iconic Anomaly. If the rendering is slow during the opening scene - making Dr Cheng move slowly - Dr Cheng actually gets caught outside the door as it closes and won't be involved in the initial fight. This only happens when stuff is lagging.

    Hope that helps. :)

For what it's worth, a SSD solved my rendering issues (little gutted I went cheap only got a 60GB one, but it's probably more than enough at the moment).

Can't remember if I said it, or if someone else has mentioned it on this thread, but it certainly needs to be said: South Gotham.
It goes beyond simple rendering lag there. I can be grouped and phased, phase away and phase back, but it doesn't change that, quite often, I can't see other players. I can't heal them or give them power when I'm in their vicinity, even though we're right next to each other, unobstructed, according to the mini-map. The only healing that seems to work are heals that would work in the ungrouped open world, like Circle of Protection. I've started being DPS-only here, just to get my 15 times feat done, so I can rely on others' help, and hope that they're sorcery. I am able to see the npc's more often than I used to, for whatever reason, but that part is still pretty bad, too.

Since the last GU, I've been seeing and hearing the cutscenes significantly more often during Brothers, Family, Vengeance, and Black Dawn (as of this past Friday night/Saturday morning when I last played). I won't be upgrading to an SSD here, seeing as how I'm usually second to the guy in the league with the SSD in getting everything to render in the area/instance... I'd sooner just wait for the PS4 to have its first sale to play next gen DCUO.

Still doesn't help the random disconnects while playing the game (especially during Black Dawn), but even a small victory is still a victory to me.

T5 content, especially the Raids, still having numerous issues, for at least on my end and the players who I've ran with.
  17. Nekron 99 Loyal Player

The rendering and now the players disappearing issues coupled together are insanity in the T5 Raids. Talk about ramping up the difficulty level of the final boss room in Nexus. When the 'puddles' or 'balls' appear you can't see them all for a good 5-6 seconds. If you see red numbers you just assume you're standing in one and jump away until you no longer see the damage numbers. How the flip are we supposed to be an effective group when we literally can't see half the stuff attacking us until we're almost dead or after we are dead. Nothing is more aggravating than having the skill to beat content but the content being so defective that you have to spend time wiping in hopes to finally get a run where stuff renders half way decent enough so that the group doesn't get wiped by some magical invisible attack. Although it's always fun to spend the next minute after a wipe talking about everyone's combat logs to figure out what the heck just hit us that didn't render on screen.

Is it so much to ask that when an AoE is cast under us that we can see the AoE under us instead of having to wait until we have damage ticking away and then realize that we're probably in an AoE?

I Don't know how you got a 2 Down votes on this?

    However, the Amount of;
    Lag,
    "Non responsive game play,
    Rendering issues,
The NPC as well as, Players who are disappearing into walls,
along with the Random Disconnects -
all has been" overwhelming" these past few weeks to the point of "NOT" running any type of high end content and/or, grouping with others - at least for me!

I've had this problem for months....however, its certainly getting worse. When fighting ontop of Ace Chemicals for one of the missions, it takes 2 or 3 mins for the enemy to even appear. My sidekick can successfully fight the invisible enemy, but I cannot. Also the Cutscenes in the alart and raids showing our toons are almost always 'black'. Disappointing really.
  20. Ash Inferno Well-Known Player

I've been noticing the rendering on the ps3 has become somewhat worse lately. Specifically in Gotham and Metropolis where there are lots of npc's. That coupled with the occasional Bermuda Triangle effect ( where all the npc's disappear and you cannot interact while just flying around ) , and lets not forget about the audio bug, is becoming rather annoying.

I'm just wondering what the standard connection speed should be. According to my ps3, mine's about 4.8 Mbps, and I have not had too many problems until now. Could this be the cause?
