So I decided to use a prepaid card to purchase a membership ($25) and whenever I try to purchase the membership I get this error message: "We're sorry, when we attempted to change the payment method you provided it was declined. Please contact your payment provider directly to see why this occurred. You may also select an alternate card or payment method to continue with your purchase." I've used a prepaid card before and never got this message. I've made sure many times that every digit was entered correctly, I added in the required information, I refreshed the page and it still won't work an hour after the card was activated.
some types of prepaid debit cards do not work directly with some online retailers. You can usually work around this if you link that card to a paypal and pay with paypal instead. edit* just realized this is a month old.
