Ignore me... I'm just waiting for someone... ;)

    Seriously?

A player could have money in escrow, but nothing to spend... the $2000 is floating balance, which is skimmed to escrow when a player goes over the cap.

So many cash cap threads lately and I've mostly just ignored most since they didn't bring anything new to the table or change my opinion (for the record legendary since launch but I don't personally have a problem increasing the prem cap based on DLC purchases).

That said if the discussion is escrow and not the cap per sea, it did occur to me that part of the problem is that people don't want to spend on the escrow token because they aren't 100% sure that they will get value for it over the period unlocked but likewise don't/can't sub.

So with that in mind I had thought it might make sense to get rid of the escrow token altogether and instead use replay badges to access escrow.

Immediately I can see a couple of ways this could be applied (I'm quite certain others can come up with better ways).
    • First, the more straightforward way is that a replay could unlock escrow to something like 10k for a limited period of time (perhaps 1-2hrs?). This would allow players to use their replays for the most common reason being repairs and R&D on raid days etc.
    • Second and little more complex is that each replay consumed would unlock an amount of escrow for a period, but they could stack. In other words if you need more money you could use more replays.
For the most part I would see using replays in keeping with the play your way model of leaving a discernible advantage for subbing, while at the same time encouraging premiums to invest in the game in a manner that most are both familiar as well as comfortable with.

At this point, I am 99% certain he has it all saved to a document and just copy/paste the whole thing whenever another one of these threads arises.

which I think we are working on 2-3 a day. :(

So why did you decide to make a dupe thread?!

Besides, we already decided that was a ridiculously stupid idea just like all the other threads. And the final outcome was no it's not gonna happen.

I don't think the answer is 'No' ....

I think there is a way for SoE to make money from Premium players who want better access to in game cash. I think it can be done with-out breaking Legendary and without the need for Premium player subscribe.

I don't know what the answer is, but I think that the primary issue at hand is that that SoE would need to "figure something out" and build the mechanics to make it happen. I would rather they spend time on building and improving content, unless they need to find a way to earn more revenue or generate better player retention.

I've had this post for a while and have posted in it's evolution in most thread for several months.

While your idea would be welcomed, and i am pro Premiums having a DLC increase cash cap,

ATM the easiest, individual and more practical way to go around Money is to buy Equipment Interfaces 1, they cost $1,500 and sell for $1,100 best of all you can stack up to 16, so two stacks is $32,000 easy money when required, after selling items, you can buy back the same EI1 you just sold for the same $1,100 so its even easier afterwards,

Still, i know how hard the cap is... a DLC increase cap would be welcome if not 500 at least a 250 would be nice, it would go up to a $5,000 not much not little

I understand that people, including me, think that this post is so reused, but will it kill anyone to not make sarcastic remarks? Seriously, the person who posted the OP might be new to the game for all we know. We don't have to make him feel like an idiot.

It is what it is... this has been suggested many, many times.

A switch like that won't come until the game is fully f2p. Who knows when that will happen. You'd have to look at it from a revenue standpoint, which none of us have any clue about.

For those who question why the topic is being brought up again, there seems to be a misunderstanding from people that just can't make any sense of the Premium's status because like I said you have Premiums that payed well over $5 but still is basically treated as the $5 Status.
