Possible to remove solo taunt when tank goes down?

When running two tanks, one usually runs the solo taunt and one with the multi pull. When the tank when the solo taunt goes down, the tank with the multi pull cannot get aggro until the solo taunts duration wears off.

So devs, possible to remove the solo taunt when the tank goes down that way another tank can get aggro?

I believe the more pressing question would be why the tank died?

I don't know if the devs should design a system wherein the group is bailed out because not only a) a tank couldn't survive and died and b) the healer or healers in the group were unable to heal or shield that tank until he could recover. Kinda follows the logic where if a healer dies can the entire group get a shield until the healer is rez'd again? Or how about when a tank dies no npc's attack another player for 10 seconds so it gives the group a chance to rez the tank before anyone is killed?

I get what you're saying, no one should plan for anyone to die if things are going smoothly, but ...**** still happens.

You can plan for success all you want, that won't stop unforeseen outcomes from happening.

or run both group taunt and a priority taunt; though generally it's better to have the loadout space for other things.

I can see why it would, conceptually, drop priority with no living target though. So it seems less like "GG NeWB-sKR0bz" and more like "possible design oversight".

If you have solo priority as a living tank, theory states that when you die the aggro should switch to the next largest source of available aggression - which is usually either top DPS, healer, or whatever's closest; a.k.a. "All hell breaking loose". Tank dies, monster starts eating people.

But since there would be no priority Taunt in place, any standard Taunt should draw aggro at that point, according to the general model, otherwise you'd end up with things like Doomsday humping the tank's corpse. Just my two dimes.

Just refresh your armory. As long as you haven't already done so and triggered the millennia-long cooldown, you should be able to change back to aoe pull in an instant.
