Please Update DCUO Main Website

I ask whoever is in charge of the DCUO website to update it in the hope to better advertise information regarding the development of DCUO. This would better inform potential new players as well as potential returning players alike on how the game has grown.

    Main pages that need updating:
-The Game Updates page is missing a few update notes
-The Movement Mode page is missing the update regarding naming changes and does not mention skimming
-The Powers page does not show the powers released after Light
-The Weapons page does not show Shield as a weapon

To the players I ask: Are there any additions/changes you would like to see on the main website to help advertise the game better?

Advertise the game on their own website? Well the game is pretty much dying/dead now..not anything they can do now. Also I don't think they care about that part of their website anymore, they figured nobody goes there I guess

Eh a main website update wouldn't hurt.
I know if I was finding out about this game for the first time I wouldn't go straight to the forums.
Some of the cooler stuff in the game rn is new, so yeah the website should show that stuff for new players to get excited about

This game has yet to ever come close to dead or dying.

I haven't looked on the front page in years. Funny to actually look at it and see how much is missing. That's like basic stuff too.

If I'm a new player, interested in the game, the first thing I would do is check out the website. This one is missing SEVEN powers, the only new weapon they ever came out with and a new movement mode. That's a lot of missing information.

The official website is the first thing people click on, only to see out-dated and too simple stuff.

I think the fact that major initiatives new UI and PC/PS Crossplay being canceled recently should be an indicator of how the game is going and how badly their budget has dropped. Going to monthly content tells me they are needing quick cash and can no longer wait for quarterly revenue. Constantly reusing sets for "new content" tells me their design team has suffered staffing cuts. Lack of any type of enthusiasm during recent Livestreams tells me they are no longer excited about the game.

These are all things we've never seen before when the "game is dying" threads came up... but the above mentioned are very recent. This isn't even including the demise of SOE and shift to Daybreak Games and who knows what impact the loss of Sony's support has had on the budget of the game. Daybreak Games is supposedly working on other games as well... so honestly, how much money do they have to go around and how much will they continue to invest in an aging game that cannot grow because of being tied to an outdated console? I love DCUO, but I think the writing is on the wall.

yeah looking at this site compared to another game like destiny this is lacking a lot.

SJ, Mepps, and Loche don't seem to be acting any different to me than they always did. We're just used to seeing another very outgoing and enthusiastic personality on those streams that is no longer there...(spytle).

As far as budget cuts go, I don't know. It's very possible but I wouldn't blame things like using old maps on that. They have always gone back to old maps whenever possible. Plus, the newest alert is a completely new map.

A really good suggestion. They had been expanding the website recently with the item search and such, but what you mention is something very basic and much more important.

What I do miss as well is a simple (up-to-date!!!) manual that explains the basic controls and the UI/HUD.

Definitely a flaw. The game client itself on PC advertises new content on the launcher, and the PS clients advertise new content partially on PSN (they stopped putting all the DLCs on there and moved to the in-game market, which advertises the rest).

For some reason they did not expect people to follow the main site for updates. Cracks in the old SOE system of doing things, no doubt. Perhaps Daybreak can be a little smarter with procedure. Maybe there are 'access' issues with that domain.

Just another thing i find bizarre by this dev team.

Website for any business is advertisement and a source of potential customers and more profit.

New customer comes across website sees only a few powers and movement modes which they dont like (maybe a friend who told them about the game said there were more powers).....leaves. =
NO Profit and leaves feeling the game is no longer being updated.

New customer comes across website sees all the new powers , wants to try red hardlight and skimming......hits download =
Potential profit and word of mouth can lead to more new customers.

That said , looking at the youtube views , twitter followers/replies etc DCUO really isnt what it once was and its light years behind other games/mmos in terms of online/social networking reach and interest.

Looking at comments/replies (or lack there of) on new videos/tweets etc people just dont seem to care anymore and i think its because things like this , a 4 year old outdated website show the devs dont either. Its the one of the simple spokes on the business wheel.

That's awesome news! Kind of related, and maybe you can't answer, but do you guys have any timeframe on when (or even if) the mobile app will ever make it to a full release? I tried to use it a few days ago and it no longer connects to the servers to log in. When I saw the app had had a soft release I downloaded it immediately and I have to say I was very impressed with how in depth it was in terms of how you could look at your characters, inventory etc. as well as having links to guides and YouTube videos. I would love to see it get a full, proper release with even more awesome features.

That isn't very reassuring, specially when so many cosmetic changes where put on hold, changes that benefited the game more than the website getting an update.
