I noticed this with brick. I use brick a lot. I noticed this in strike alert 1st. I can be out of combat then all of sudden all kinds of green lanterns coming to kill my brick. Tonight i had leprechauns chasing brick. Someone else was breaking the gold pot. I did nothing where the other player was. I was at least 40 feet away. When these things happen im not in combat either i just see npcs giving chase. Im currently trying to find other places for thos bug can't anything for now. It won't ve long before it starts going with every npc. I don't know if this happens with other pets. I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
Doesn't matter. My understanding is that if Brick, and some other pets, are out they'll taunt. Even if they're not doing anything else. This happened in Throne two weeks ago. Brick came out. We stood around and talked to make sure everyone was on the same page. And, BAM! Aries attacked Brick like there was no tomorrow. I swear, it was Jay-Z in the elevator all over again. Extra side note: The Seasonal Pumpkin and Sea Creature are the only two Tank-friendly pets. They do their job, do their damage, and can be targeted, but do NOT taunt.
TOM bot taunts too, if I am not mistaken. The watcher no longer taunts, but I still remember when I did a manual target lock on the Avatar of Magic and that caused it to go in alone to play with the boss...
What about when you do nothing to a nearby npc. Then all of sudden it chases after your pet but your not in combat. This 1 is new. I do wish pets didn't have to wait till it's owner attacks to start attacking. It was that way at 1 time.
For sure something is wrong with the pets. I was in a t6 duo today with a player that got that iconic powers pet. For some reason just the presence of the pet aggroed or woke up all the idle mobs in the room and came after us.
