Overgeared players are RUINING this game!

Having the option to walk in or go in without a complete group would be helpful for lower content stuff, but overall everything. It would make things easier for higher CR players that need the styles in the lower content, or those seeking a challenge. New players would end up less with players that will rush. (Not all do).

I think your examples are actually giving credibility to the original post.

In the early stages, these were meant to be as difficult as possible. A real challenge that requires skill, teamwork, and blah blah blah. When you first fought Kandaq, that was the obstacle your team faced (and unfortunately, didn't succeed.)

But now things are different. If Tier 6 people are present...heck, with even a single Tier 6 player...Kandaq is much less a challenge, if a challenge at all.

So, in summary, I know how you feel. I was there when we wiped at the Sunstone Matrix, the ARC, and the Water-Bearers. But now, I know I can take a new lvl 30 toon in and stay back. It's happening very frequently as of the latest DLC.
  3. Menelaos Dedicated Player

Remember all other games in which once you reached a higher lvl and went back the beginning was easier? Yeah, me too cause thats in ALL games.

95% of the time, those lower lvl players wont complain b/c chances are they will get feats or just plain be done sooner.

But as has been proven time and time again on these forums, someone will always find something to whine about and we have chosen to whine about "overgeared" players. You know, those who busted their arses lvling and getting gear. The ones that have forgotten more about the game than many new ppl will ever learn. Those bastards that ran that crap when it was hard and have earned the right to walk over it now. Yup, they are ruining the game after 3+ years of playing it while these new ones complain.

How dare they?! To hell with them all. Sure countless hours and hundreds (if not thousands) of $ spent to go into lower tier crap to find a style is no excuse for "ruining" the game.

Im going to go play Diablo III, and will use my OP toon to wipe out Act 1 because I can and have earned the right to do so after all I have done. Then, tonight, I will be on DC and will run low tiers for the styles I am still missing after earning my 170SP and I will do it with a smile. I am willing to bet not a single player complains about me being there.

I am in full support of gear syncing down to fit the level of contet.

I think there should be walk-I'm portals available with no restrictions for all content.

I also think level sync should only apply when you use the queue system.

I have played other games with this feature and I truly believe it keeps content fresh. Even after year of running content you still appreciate the mechanics that you spent time working to overcome. And at the same time you still have the option to go in with your god-mode gear and destroy it :)

I agree with what you mostly stated. However, it seems the everyone, including the developers might need to refresh their memories on something. The "quality" of what is "welcomed" is a necessity. Just the "fact" that it is "supported" is not enough. There is a reason or reasons why leagues are favored over solo play. The quality for solo play for DCUO is not sufficient, especially if you are premium. I solo play and am involved with league (just recently joined up with another helpful league). I see a clear distinction between the two experiences and there is a "huge" gap in quality between my experiences in solo play and the two leagues I am apart of.

Side Note - the two main benefits for solo play for me is to reduce the time in participating in group missions and solitude. Sometimes in the long run that is even negated on the count of getting kicked from PUG's and being disrespected. The leagues I am apart of have never kicked me. Additionally, if I disconnect it seems I have a high chance of getting invited back.

Solo play should be as favorable as leagues. It should get to the point where it just a matter choosing between picking what "form" you like. Whatever you pick, you will get a good quality experience.

I cited my examples to give you a flavor of what the challenge is like (at least for me).

Regardless of the time, now, a month from now, or even a year in the past, there was (and will always be) players who are over geared for the content they are running.

Now you might say "this is more common with the latest DLC" and I would reply and say it will be more and more common with more DLCs, as everything below them is now "easier". Thus when T7 comes out, people will breeze through T6 like they are doing T5, like T4 etc etc.

What everyone experiencing is (as mentioned by others) expected in all games. I personally don't experience it very often.

There are plenty of other threads which I've seen and commented on which have solutions to this particular problem.

There is also the fact that players like to feel Op sometimes, they don't want to get gear only to be the current tier content, they want to be able to enter lower tier content and actually feel improvement, but if they are always held back on lower content to that level and not the actual level they are then it makes leveling kinda dull for anything other than styles and being able to so more stuff, but never able to show how strong they really have become. To be honest I don't think the vast majority of players would go back to do lower tier content once they move up that CR simply because they will rather do the current content they are geared for, than having better gear, but it being useless since your CR will be capped to that lower level.

If they sync my gear level to theirs I'm out
If not I'll become a stupid elitits inspect everyone before starting and kicking them out if they are not CR106++++++++++

Or just demand a MoT sinc to let me buy whatever rare base item is supposed to drop on that instance, weapon and armor styles, iconic ones included.

Today two T6 alert runs with 3 lowbies,a sorcery dps that was not using any WM combo at all, short rifle combo and power usage,a mortar shot and 3 powers usage he was basically empty all the time

Another run which I left after 15 minutes cause we still were at market area to raise the flags, top dps was up to 800k damage other one was helplessly trying to keep up spamming random powers,we had an healer too so the run was going to take a big forever, excused myself out cause I don't have the entire day to get nothing but marks,no FE6,no plans and maybe if I'm lucky some stuff that gets salvaged right after the alert

No sync to lowbies levels period.

I can see your point and many others have expressed a similar view. Maybe one solution would be a setting to enable/disable this feature similar to what we have for cross faction PvP. This way players could choose to run in instances exclusively where cr is adjusted or in those where it is not. I think more player choice is a good thing.

RIOT was talking about this, i'm not saying Max CR, but Max Stat: Resto,Vit,Prec,Might, etc. Any T5 Role could easily make max t1/2; even a T3 need to go with the team to the T1 Boss fight if is rookie, and then, if you want to go God Mode just use the portals where there would be no limitation,

over geared players are not ruining this game. anyone who wants to have a correctly geared group for a instance can build the group their selves. by pugging you are asking for the luck of the draw. while most of us don't try to take the enjoyment away from the people coming up. most of us just want to get in and out of a content with out wasting time to get what ever we are running the content for to begin with. can higher geared players be more considerate sure. but the content shouldn't scale our gear down to the content lvl simply because you were stuck in a bad group with inconsiderate players.

But what exactly is a max stat for any role, and how would that be determined?, there are some players that already in T1 have way over 70 SP so how would we decide what a max stat for a raid be.
  14. ErnieB Loyal Player

I have another solution, instead of locking the CR why not lock the gear, make T5 gear go down to T1 or T2 depending on what you want to do. Also the idea of portals being unlocked (but still have the CR walk in limit) is a good use for them since ever since walk ins for low levels where disabled there's no real used for them other than try do raids without 8 players.
  15. FameYack Committed Player

    I was also mentioned,

SP innate stats should be allowed,
    Gear/CR/Stats it all seemed redudndant, whats the point of a CR being reduced to 46 if Might is still 5000;

As for "determined" that's pure statistics, CR2.5 Flash armor would be an excelent cap, in each version for each stat, to allow the max among all 4 versions

That, and 180 SP innate stats equals a beast who at least should have a small challenge
    Then for T2 you have t4;

Glad to hear you also agree with Synching :)

I would love this since even though a little bit, new players would contribute more and being helped to learn more basics about their roles, and so, in higher levels, thing would go more smoothly

At this point the idea generally seems to be to allow these shortcuts in order to keep a window open for players to progress through the dlcs by way of cooperative carrying. If you are a player that is looking to be carried, you can still randomly queue up and end up with an overgeared group. The catch is that at some point you're going to need to buy DLCs to access more and more content areas. The only reason walk-ins were removed is because they were allowing people to skip DLC purchases entirely and cut from T1 to T5+. Quality isn't as important as DCUO's been so close to the red line that the emphasis on funding is going to take precedence over anything that can result in slowing down progression, even it results in a more qualified and skilled player base, if it means fewer players will be bolting through tiers fast enough to purchase the DLC packs. It's the progression system of the DLC packs that has resulted in each release slowly thinning out the populace. If each DLC released offered something for every tier, it would offer up the incentive for replay badge purchases by way of increasing opportunities to use them, it would increase sales of DLCs as their worth would last through multiple tiers, and it would also free up some options for SOE's DCUO devs as not everything in each DLC will have to focus on the next end-game level content entirely. Lair mainframes, armories, utility belts, and other features are just a smidgeon of what game-wide features could be added with a greater emphasis on scaling flexibility.

Oh well. The ball sure does like rolling around the floor. Butterfingers aren't a good way to make money, Smeds'.

    I
I have a bunch of alts and have to agree about the skipping of adds and aggroing a bunch of mobs makes it impossible for a lower tier player. I also have high tier characters who run lower content but always wait to start instances and kill mobs so the players can have a smooth run. If you're a speed feat chaser this can be done and you should still be able to accomplish your feat. So I put all players that are bad team players on my ignore list for this and a variety of other reasons. My ignore list is getting pretty long but if more people used their ignore lists selfish player would realize through long ques that pissing on everyone's fun might be not such a good practice.

Now If only their was a way to recall everyone on a team after a pointless kick I'd be happy to add them to my ignore list as well. I always add the few I remember but it would be nice to have them listed. There are good people who play this game all you have to do is ignore the bad apples.

I pug and won't join a league because a pug group is mostly more challenging than a league run. Leagues for the most part don't have lower level runs anyways and concentrate on higher level content. Don't get me wrong they'll come down and face roll the mission for you but what's the fun in that.

I know how you feel, BUT why should us high gear ppl be punish for wanting to do low end content?

and why do you care if enemies are dropping like flys? your not suppose to worry about dmg out, YOU as a healer should be glad it makes your job that much easier, less healing you have to do in a single run.

If they block certain ppl running content (T6 running T1 content ect)

thats alot of content ppl miss out on for loot to salvage to go towards their salvage feats.

just do as I did while leveling, focus on your role, dont worry about if the run is super easy, just be happy that it is, b/c next time it could 10x harder :p

or like in flashback duo in the tunnel, the waiting area you can not go through tunnel WITHOUT team mate now

possibly something like this, make ppl wait til all 4 team mates are at the boss are before able to start or even enter the boss area

How you just leave the group if you are worried about my overgeared toon carrying you through. I will que for whatever I want in my T6 because I have leveled him through every tier to do so. When you hit max tier you'll do the same thing, unless you keep a set of gear for every tier lol.
