Overgeared players are RUINING this game!

I agree with you entirely, but people would lose their collective minds.

Remember back in T4 days that the max Precision you could get was like 900? Might was what, 2200? All those are doubled when running a mixed build just from T5 content alone.

I wouldn't mind the sync as long as we also had an option to run the content over-geared. Whether that means walk-ins to all instances, or some method via our GU38 base teleporters to teleport to any instance, I would prefer an option open to us to play lower content in our normal gear.

Not a good idea to automatically negate all the work we put into our characters. There would literally be no point in gear and skill points if they did that.

Couldn't they just add a style vendor for say T1 - T4, so you wouldn't have to replay the content to get what you needed?

    Solutions:

    1. Walk-In Teleporters for those who are well above the required CR for an instance so that they can low-man or solo
    2. A Level-Sync Option that will allow you to scale your own stats down to the appropriate CR if you want to play as it was intended

They absolutely could do that. For myself I would love the challenge of soloing the alerts if I had the option.

One possible fix, I would much rather just walk into alerts myself or maybe with one other person, you got teleporters coming, why not allow them to put say 1 or 2 people into any alert without being forced to que up. that solves to op's problem and mine, i dont particularly enjoy steaming through alerts with cr appropriate players, they tend to just stay behind, following me to the end never really learn anything but how fast a geared player can roll through it.
And your geared players might like the challenge of soloing some old alerts.
    Just a thought.

My problem is under skilled players. If they are overgeared there should be no issue finishing the content. Some of still have feats we need to earn and chances are you need them as well so you should just take the easy win. I understand you want a challenge and once you get to top tier content you will find plenty of challenge with PUG groups. I find most PUG groups still struggle with Nexus even with some T6 players so I find overgeared players a very small problem if they are a problem at all.

Yup. Id have to take off several pieces of gear to get 900 precision nowadays.

Reduce the stats on all IL's of gear past T4 by a significant margin, as T5 boosted stats to a crazy high level in preparation for Nexus and Paradox. Now the stats on the initial T5 set would be, and are, far more then enough to run anything in the game currently for all roles.

It wont fix the problem entirely, but it will make older content much less of a bore and the complaints of overgeared people ruining instances for lower geared will be fewer.

    Simple solution:

Do what FFXIV does, a Level sync, when you join a low level instance with high level gear, your gear syncs/scales to that alerts tier requirement.

There is nothing to fix about overgeared players. And i don't like the debuffing players bit either. Think about it, after all the time and money i spend to make my character as best as possible, getting gear, feats , skillpoints, why on earth would i want to waste my progress only to be weakened to make this game enjoyable for you? Like ive said in numerous other threads, in a pug everyone has their own agendas and ideals. If you have a specific goal or challenge in mind, taking your chances with pugs is like setting yourself up for failure or unsatisfaction. I know for a fact that if im replaying lower tier content for feats and styles, i couldnt care less about the challenge or ect, i came there for a specific reason.
However that said, im not above helping weaker players and will do so if im asked or if im playing for fun. But yea, there's no way this'll fly. When we get teleporters and you want a challenge, you can feel free to solo em i suppose but to negatively affect a team for your own ambitions is equally as selfish as those who couldnt give a hoot about what you want

This was my initial thought as well, but as another eluded to: blasting through content that used to be problematic is pretty fun... doing away with 2+years of work on my toon, just to make it easier on someone who is new, seems a little unfair when the individual could simply form his/her own group and play their way....

LOL @ every single person in here who said the OPs solution is to simply "join a league"

Like its that simple to get into a good league these days and even if you do apply for a good league they want you to have a high CR.

People are too fast to push blame to the players that see problems and i garuntee that every single person that suggested such a simplistic option has been in their league for over 6 months minimum.

Props to those that have given suggestions like "level sync" thats a nice idea.

I also dont entirely agree with the saying that the stats have scaled out of control. There are between 8-14 levels of gear between most tiers if math doesnt suck. By the time you reach 8 levels, you're practically in a whole new tier. Traces in time and tt gear were both around 87-88 and i feel like the only significant increase was from that to scion / vestments. But look at how much t5 gear there actually is. The reason why it seems like such a big jump is because from 79 gear to 92, there's about 13 levels of progression, which is a huge number.t5 has corrupted, exalted, and i forgot what its called but its feathery. Thats 3 different types right there. And thats not counting the 84 gear that drops in trigon, nor the 81-83 that drops in the duos. I feel like the leveling is confusing tbh and the gear progression might be confusing as well

Dude.... just go set up your own group.

I don't agree with automatically scaling your CR down to the instance's level because I go back to the lower tier stuff for feats and styles I missed. The random drops from those instances pretty much force you to play them over and over again to even get just what you want out of it. Some days I do the regular stuff at my tier, and others I go back and pull the game's slot machine arm to see if I get that piece of gear I've been looking for.

Pre-setting your character's stats seems to be about as fun as changing all the instances to what we got with the T5/6 solo iconic anomalies.

My league doesn't care about your CR, but we do care about the type of player you are though... are you active, play within the league when possible, have a mic, know your role, get along well with others? CR can always be increased from my point of view, dramatically so and quickly... the other things, well they are harder to teach and implement into a player.
