Open Episodes Return!

Two so far. Know when the last open episodes were?

End of July to end of August. So we've had three months exactly since the end of the last time. Free access 3 to 4 times a year and you don't think Legendary members who pay for that (access to the DLCs isn't a small part of the sub, it makes up about 75-90% of why people sub) are gonna be upset? If i only had a month by month sub i wouldn't care since I'd just drop sub when that time rolled around. But with a year-long sub, you can't.

They sold us something and then cheapened it a lot. Can they do that? Absolutely. Do we have a right to be angry? Absolutely.

How about that we pay a monthly sub, and without us there would be no DCUO, how about apreciating what makes them live.
There are tons they could give us, that wouldnt cost them much. First subs should have greated marketplace discount, while this open content is on, subs should have 50% discount at least.
Not having a cash cap is not worth the sub itself, escrow is cheaper then the sub. What exclusive styles do we get? Exclusive base items?
We get to not have a cash cap, still need to make the money to use it. We get 150 RB and 500 loyalties (PS) a month, we get to do less work for the time capsules (2.5 days vs 4 or 5). This is 99% of what differs us from premiums, and f2p in open content times.
We have plenty of reasons to complain, the f2p have non, the f2p actually get what they are paying for, the subs not so much at times (like the last few months before episode)

Former subscriber, chiming in.

Was not here for the previous Open Episodes. That they would have another Open Episodes so soon after the last one, to me that means that they got some $ from F2P converting to Premiums or Legendary Subscribers. So this brings in business, then current subscribers should be happy, since it means that the subscriber base will grow and hence the game will continue to exist.

However, this announcement should also have come with a gift for all Current Legendary Subscribers, as well as Premiums, who have bought multiple episodes. Its basic Customer Loyalty.

I THINK ALL PAYING MEMBERS SHOULD GET 15 DOLLARS WORTH OF FREE STUFF. OR GET REINBURST THE TIME ITS FREE. I ALSO THINK ALL YOU PAYING MEMBERS SHOULD SPEAK UP WITH ME ON THIS. ALL DC IS TRYING TO DO IS GET MORE PAYING MEMBERS / BUY CONTENT / ECT.. TO MAKE THEM MORE MONEY. BY DOING THIS AND WE SIT BACK AND PAY LIKE FOOLS WHEN THEY GIVE OVER A MONTH FREE. I think most ppl with subs forget the extended (and really long) lootlocks for the f2p and premiums (not having the episode). Also the latest content isn't free for the f2p/premiums that benefit from the open episode.

I could care less about the open episodes my real issue is that this is the 2nd time this year they have given free content that last over a month to non subscribers meanwhile legendary players haven't gotten anything for supporting the game financially .

everbody here has a point. the f2p base did get what they paid for, NOTHING. and yet the people i know have everything are the most ungrateful. the people who have nothing jump for joy when these events roll around and are bored stiff when they disappear. try going without a susciption if you haven't bought the episodes and see what i mean. there will be NO cr leveling. because there will be NO cr appropriate gear or content. that's what the f2p base goes through and thus the open episodes is JUSTIFIED. as for 15 dollars worth of stuff would it really matter? the only thing they could possibly do to give members more is suspend lootlocks. that's it.

there are essentially 3 levels of caste in dcuo 1. the subscribers who have all access. 2. the dlc user who has content access. and 3. the f2ps. by and large the last 2 make up a substantial quota of the player populace around 80%. i cannot tell you haw many times as a subsciber i've run through an open world and noticed that not only were the purple icons so vastly out numbered by green that it was comical but that the 3 or 4 subscribers ran through the open world like sheep clustered together for protection. the f2p base DOES do something. they populate the game.

If this foolishness is going to happen about every 3 months then there's no way in hell I'm renewing. I barely play now as is, by the time renewal comes the merger will have failed to save the game on x1 and it will probably be shut down anyway

Isn't the game itself a gift already, what do you subscribe for, open episodes is how it should have been from day 1.

I unsubscribed along time ago, it's time to stop paying just to support and pay for what you like according to your post.

DLC access is only one perk Legendary members receive. One of many, and the access these players will be receiving will/can be more costly because they have extended loot locks which means a) they can't gear up as fast if they don't replay or b) they spend money on replays to gear up and they become (TA-DA) premium. In the case of (a), no risk of having free players messing up end-game queues. In the case of (b), becoming premium is good for the game (more revenue) and good for the player pop (more invested players).

Numerous examples irl where this type of promotional tactic is accepted and effective.
- Cable providers have free premium channel weekends. Does that take away from your viewing experience of HBO? Of course not.
- Drinking establishments frequently have happy hours on Fridays. Does that mean the beer you have every Tuesday night with your bowling buddies is somehow not as good? Nope
- Airlines will frequently will have lower fare rates in the middle of the week. Does that mean that short flight you took to visit Aunt Bessie over the weekend was sub-standard? Absurd
- Here in the US, Black Friday is coming up and folks will make fools of themselves trying to snag a large flatscreen at reduced prices; probably cheaper than what you paid for the same TV a few months ago. Does that mean your TV is worthless now and you should get a refund? Ludicrous

In ALL cases, what a free player gets as part of a limited time promotion has absolutely 0% to do with Legendary players. Time to put the greed monster back in the closet, and get back to enjoying the game.

What is the point of being legendary. Free replays only for 1 an a half raid sux. Free key to open lock box for mark of victory thats not valid if ur a high cr. Free episodes wait noo they giving those free. The only thing good about being legendary is no escrow. So plz pay for membership so u can spend the money u earn. Its all about money money money wit dcuo. New gear system sux changing gears every minute 1 low gear yo unlock a gear lil higher. The players who defend dcuo on this are being paid by dcuo (free legendary) or wrk for dcuo or just new players that know no better.

like I said noobs rather it was from last round or not I noticed a truck load of new idiots at end game in a weeks time due to 'open content' and it'll happen again b/c ppl will feel then need to 'give back' or 'help ppl who were like them'
