Still my friend you have to see it this way. That is the logic of "I opened 5 Time Capsules, got an Allied Forces Special Receiver orbital worth 40 million. I opened another five and got nothing worth a ton of cash! This isn't fair!". It is known as the miracle of RNGesus. He works in mysterious ways. There is certainly no way to calculate it. To date I have farmed 400 warbonds for the OP head, 330 for the OP back, whatever the chest and gloves cost, and I currently have around 120 towards the OP belt. Thus I've ran the maximum content and burnt through every replay my friends and I had. It was only within the last week or so that I got anything, and I had the feat that increases your chances within the first 3 days of the release. Not a single one of the 6 friends I run with daily have received anything at all. The good RNGesus giveth when he least expects it. My advice. Be generous and kind and don't have your hand constantly held out expecting it to be filled. Most of all. Be happy with what you have received as opposed to forsaking the lord.

So you agree the op collections rng has been messed with? You said all that and didn't really say nothing.
  3. KHALONofOGUN 10000 Post Club

You say 6 weeks worth of runs...but it hasn't been 6 actual weeks. When you've hit that milestone without getting anything THEN you might have a legitimate complaint.
  4. pitbullb3 Devoted Player

But it is 6 weeks worth of runs. Who are you to say what is or what isn't a complaint. If I want to complain that the forum colors are ugly, That's my opinion. No one is forcing you to read anything on the forums

Sigh. If I could draw pictures to help explain it, I definitely would. I couldn't disagree further. It is the same as it has always been. Based on luck. You can't calculate, predict, or EXPECT to be lucky. Does running it on 1500 alts increase your chances? Sure. Does it guarantee you something? No! Not at all. I got two within a 3 day period out of Loot Caches. Haven't seen one since. Essentially it is just like a time capsule or anything else. Let's use small numbers to make it simple. So say that out of every 10 drops someone gets something rare. You could run the content 100 times, but you still run 9 chances of not being lucky number 10 for each of those runs. Doesn't matter that you have ran it a bunch. There could be another guy who ran it 200 times, saved all his 200 boxes, and opens them back to back to back, and even then there is a chance that right after he opens #9 someone else is out there opening their first one a split second before he does.

Now imagine that on a far larger scale with many more variables. Feat or no feat the odds just aren't in your/our favor. What you are requesting is pretty much counter productive. Since if the items you want were more common, no one would want/need them. Thus there would be nothing special about them, and they wouldn't matter at all.

I Don't need you to draw me a picture of your opinion. I have experience with dcuo to back up what I'm saying. I have experience with the last op collections. Last dlc I was getting better drops with less collections. Now my experience with DCUO.
    1. Replays. When replays 1st dropped, getting fully geared cost 100$, very next dlc best gear was added as drops, the dlc after that only had 5-6 pieces in loot table.
    2. BB. The 1st bb wasn't to bad. Very next BB people are spending 100s of dollars with no smoke aura.
    3. TC. 1st time capsules 75 rl dollars and 50mil was probably enough to get all feats, look at them now.
Please before you try to draw another picture, do some investigation

The drawing pictures reference was in response to you trying to twist my words into what you wanted them to say. Pretty much it was my way of saying "how can I possibly make this more clear". Even right now you are still babbling about this "conspiracy" despite the fact that you are quite literally the only person who believes it. So regardless of "DC Experience" and those fine statistics it would seem to be a clear indication that you are incorrect on this particular subject. I feel that I had you at drawing pictures and lost you right afterwards. I mean this sentence really says it all...

Old Time Capsules or new are you trying to argue that a set amount of cash should guarantee you everything you want? They are nicknamed lottery boxes for a reason, and it truly sounds like you are saying that if I spent 1,000 on the Powerball that I am guaranteed to be a multi-millionaire. Truthfully I am not trying to argue or discredit you. Just look up man. You are acting like the drunk guy who refuses to believe he is drunk when everyone at the party is telling him he should stop drinking.

I'm trying to show you how the devs release something new and the next time around the rng is changed. I couldn't have drawn a clearer picture and it still went over your head. I'm presenting you with facts.fyi this is nothing like the lottery. The lottery have the exact amount of numbers all the time, I'm telling you the devs add extra numbers

I never said whether this was a complaint or not...especially since it's obvious that it is. I questioned the legitimacy of the complaint since it's based solely on anecdotal data with no other actual evidence to back up your conclusion. Your expectations are based on what you encountered during the last episode, and while the results then where in your favor, nothing should have you expecting things to remain that fortunate during this episode. Not in this RNG adventureland called DCUO.

And finally, just because you played 6 weeks worth of content doesn't mean that RNGesus is counting it the same way....meaning our beloved deity may simply be going "nothing for pitbull3 and all of his toons from this Thursday to the next".

As to your last sentence, you should know better by now that when you post in a public forum you will get responses...including ones you may not like. Just as you told me, you could have not read my response...or even taken the extreme route and put me on ignore.

If there is a method to something it cannot be truly random. Its just that simple. The fact there is a system that is said to be random thats been manipulated so certain items dont drop as much as others proves its not truly random. If the system has been manipulated it cannot and never will be truly random. U got 4 OP collections, were they rare ones? Common ones? U neglect to mention that. There is a slight level of randomness to it. But its not truly random and thats what i said in my post. Not gonna type out everything from my last post again but it shows 100% how the system is far from being truly random. And like i said people should loot into what true randomness is and how RNGs work.

the problem is you're conflating two connected, but separate systems here.

The drop rate is not the Random Number Generator.

    I'll give a simple example.

in this example, the loot table contains 29 items. the first five are rare, and the other 24 are common.

On a number set of 1-100, these items are all given a value. The first five are given a 1 number value, i.e. Rare drop #1 is 1, Rare drop #2 is 2, etc.

the next 24 drops are all common and weighted equally, giving them a five number range i.e 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 etc.

Now you have your drop rate, which translates into a percentage.

This is NOT the Random Number Generator.

The Random Number Generator, or RNG, then essentially rolls a 100 sided die, and the number that come up determines what your get. It is COMPLETELY RANDOM.

While items 1-5 only have a 1% drop chance, it is entirely possible for the RNG to spit out the same number several times in a row, it is just statistically unlikely.

So when you say, it's not completely random, you're a little bit right. The drop rate is not random. It is set by the developers.

But the RNG that determines what you get? Or if you get anything at all? Completely random. Claiming otherwise is just ignorant.

When the system rolls RNG for you, it's not the drop rate that's most likely to get you, good or bad. It's the randomness of the RNG.

    Any proof of this?

6 days without droping any OP collection on my chars and counting ... working as intended.

PS: wanted collections droped but no1 cares about those.
  17. pitbullb3 Devoted Player

Do you think the 1st TC drop match the next 3? Do you think the 1st bb drops match the ones after? All corporations do it. Even illegal entities do it. To completely dismiss feedback about changed drop rates to rng is just walking around with blinders on.
  18. pitbullb3 Devoted Player

It's to many players complaining about the same thing, and others are just chalking it up to RNG. With more collections added this dlc, the rng should have went up

Keep in mind there was less stuff in the first TC
