On duty. Remembering last queue.

Why? Just why did they take this away? To queue in some instances, get in and after complete it to press "ready" to queue in the exact same instances, it was perfect beyond perfect. You queue in all pvp, get in, win or lose, and press ready again, or to get the stuff to raise the omnipotent gear or to queue in all the instances you know you are missing feats.... It was so perfect...

As a compensation I demand....i don't know, 1 source mark or else....else i'll have to buy the angry skin to show how my character feels.

Well, in a more serious note i guess the "remember queue" wasn't liked for everyone or it was making something to not work, it's a shame to lost this "remember queue" but it could be worse i guess (almost i don't have to add all pvp instances one by one and i just have to press on the 1,2,4 and 8 persons).

Bc whoever designed this UI hates us. They went from user friendly to user nightmare.

I think the main problem is that there are two distinct ways folks will put multiple runs in a queue: there’s the one you suggest, where you’re trying to spam an array of missions that don’t always pop quickly, but there’s also the folks who want to do each of the queued missions once (usually because of loot locks), so having the queue persist is pretty onerous, since they have to manually remove instances each time (and getting to the queue on the right hand side is a bit of a chore with a controller).

It sounds like what they maybe need is an easy to reach toggle that lets you decide if your queue should persist after you enter an instance / log off or not.

See, that is something I found terrible, but it was probably because it was also selecting all individual runs from an omni queue and leaving them. While that would be nice for someone spamming Omnis (yeah...that guy), if you ran your omni raid, then wanted to run the solo, you had to clear all the omni runs. Also, as the screen on a PITA to maneuver in, clearing it repeatedly was also a PITA.

Now that the full list of omnis is 'solos' or 'alerts', it would not be as big of a deal to clear it when you are done.

I think a middle ground might be if an instance is marked a 'favorite' (since we have that now), it stays in till unselected. So if you want to spam doomsday 5x, you have it marked favorite, ready up...run...ready up again, but the next day you don't ready DD, so it's not going to show up, even though it's in your favorites still.

Because we had a lot of reports of people being confused or ending up in an instance they are already lot locked for. I think this was a feature for power users, but hurts more casual users.

Maybe I misunderstand the purpose of this thread, but I find most of my queue issues come through the omnibus. When I do custom play, I can get what I select. But through the omnibus I can’t select anything. Which sucks, because it queues me up for solo events I can’t beat, even in groups, with raids and alerts that we, together, can’t beat as a group. In these instances there is forever occurring votes to reopen the instance for matchmaking, people leave, then it happens again. I dread the omnibus for this reason. Either way, this feature doesn’t really seem all that user-friendly.

Yeah, I was running random stuff and wasn't a fan of the remember part. Mostly because only Omnibus was no loot locked and I only had time for current content. I had random people in my group for the Isis alert saying, "How do I not end up in the same instance?" or "How do I queue for something else?"

Maybe have a toggle, like our roles are done, that allows us to remember last instances? Just a thought, but by default, I prefer it not being on myself.

Yeah I got sick of having to clear omnibus raids before I could queue for omnibus alerts so I'm glad it's gone.

Only problem is now I can't reset loot locks so Daybreak gonna be missing out on my replay money until that's fixed.

I'm no fan of the omni system, but you know that's working as designed, right? It's supposed to put you into random runs with random people, some of which might be harder than others. That's what the circle and 'cancel queue' is for. Yeah, you gotta sit on your hands for a min after (not solos), but if you know the run that comes up is not going to go well, or is particularly long and drawn out (hello Gotham Warehouse solo, Star Labs or FOS2/batcaves), a min is a small price to pay to take another shot at a 'better' run.

But yeah, those 2 weeks of being able to select your omni run was pretty nice....made the new menu worth dealing with even. Random is worse...every time.

I hate to even suggest more changes, but what about a 3 click system. Click once to add it to the list...click a 2nd time to 'lock' it on the list....a 3rd click would dequeue it. Not sure if this is possible even.

Or as I suggested above, what about only favorites are 'locked' in queue for repeat runs. Example, if someone is working on their 100 count legends instance feat, they might want to run and re-run the Bizarro solo (it's the fastest), add that run to favorites, select it and it stays locked till you manually un-select it.

Just a thought. If given the either or choice, I'd also prefer NOT to have it locked (latest version) vs locking everything (previous).

I believe the only loot locks are on the new episodes, why would you go to "custome" if you want to do once? Just queue on the episode.

In my case they can leave it as it is, i mean for me it is a real quality of life having the queue there but if others who find it useless then the developers can leave it like that, there's no way i would ask for a button in something so trivial.

That was happening? I was lucky all this time i guess because never had that issue.

It could be an idea but....it could be more troublesome for them than help full for us, because after each raid they'll have to check your favourites and if you unselected....i don't see it to be honest. I think it would be easier to put a "select all" button on the favourites tab and the pvp tab (for raids, alerts, duos and solos you have omnibus so it's not necessary), but even that i'm not sure if i would ask something so trivial.

Thanks for the reply, a shame in my case I think is more usefull than harmful but the mayority is the mayority. Maybe as i told Reinheld a "select all" button on favourites tab and pvp tab could be a good idea but....it's something so trivial i wouldn't dare to ask for it to be honest.

My english is awful at its best so probably it's my fault. I'm talking about the costume tab, where when you select an isntance it appears in a "queuing list" which after you finish the instance it clean all the instances you were queuing (before they remanied so you could queue up again more quickly for the same content).

The persistent choices in the new On Duty menu were the only thing I liked about it. Now I have to scroll to and double-tap all the content I need, every time. And can't queue a whole tier at once, like in the old menu. Can't have multiple queues, so while waiting for my raids I can't queue duos, PvP, or whatever, otherwise those instances will almost always pop before the raids and reset the queue. Plus, of course, using a controller is still a pain in the a**, even though the return of the triangle button makes it slightly better than before.

I guess since making a group in LFG for specific content is difficult, and Omnibus instances are often utter sh*t-shows, the new UI aims to make PUGing more off-putting in order to balance things out.
  13. lllStrichcodelll ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I ended up in Swe+ instead of Swe once because it was still on the list from the day before. We only figured it out after wiping it multiple times. :D

Now that it got changed to the point that it doesn't save the queue after logout, I wouldn't mind having this feature back. But it needs a quick-deselect hotkey for controller support then!

Another way to get this feature back could be to make a "playlist" section, just like your "favorite" section, and add instances there individually.

Either way, it's not a make-or-break feature, and just leaving it as is wouldn't hurt the game too.

I’m glad it’s gone. I made a thread a little while back about it because it was annoying. They should just have a feature where you could turn it off or on because if you are wanting to queue for the same thing over and over I can see why you’d want this turned on.

I think this was confusing for some people and for others it was just annoying having to clear the recently queued content after any run.

I'm fairly casual and I liked this feature. I queue the same thing everyday (Solo) so it kept it for me and saved me time.

    Because they see feedback like
    from this thread https://forums.daybreakgames.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/lets-talk-about-the-new-on-duty-menu.324995/

and thinks we do not want *anything* to remain selected.

After a few weeks, I had grown to rather like the new UI, just wanted it to be userfriendly. We got Triangle back (yay). If it is technicially impossible to *only remove the thing I just ran*, then I´d prefer having to manually deselect it, rather than log a Toon > Q Solo, 2 Duos, 3 Alerts and 4 Raids > do whatever popped first > Q the same 1 Solo, 1 Duo (not the 1 I just ran) 3 Alerts and 4 Raids.

While clearing Journal on Alts, I *really liked* Look t1 > Q t1 stuff > look t2 > Q t2 stuff > continue till something popped. And I had especially grown to like that it remembered my Queue List upon crash/relogging another Toon to help a Friend with whatever Role they needed.

I *did not* like to Q Omni > do whatever popped first with 90% successrate in a timely manner > Go to On Duty and make my cumbersome way down through everything to hit "Clear All".

All I wanted was R3 or something to clear all. But the Developers saw the feedback and reached this conclusion
Which begs the question: Do the Developers ever play the game they develop?

(I am truly sorry if this or any of my posts are rude or offensive, it is just really aggravating to see my favorite game of all time continually take 1 step forward and 2 or even 3 steps backsward)

It was god awful on controller. Borderline unusable in fact. It felt like the whole thing was designed for PC with probably no thought for console players.

It's much better now, although the update introduced a new bug for at least some console players that prevents us from resetting loot locks. That's being investigated at the moment so hopefully that will be fixed soon.

The previous update to on duty, with console, was absolutely horrible. Buggy, glitchy, slow, and you had to enter/exit the on duty (which loaded very slow) multiple times to remove something from queue.

So this new update was really a lifesaver for console people. We can add or remove queue easily, add or remove to favorites easily. Ready up much easier, and our menu loads faster.
Although I understand your point, is wanting to not have to re-queue something you're spam running, having it available in favorites still makes it faster than the old way. There's give and take with the update, but balancing between console and pc usability, I think this is a sweet spot.

I think at this point all they need to do is add a "queue favourites" button and everybody would be happy. Spam runners can favourite everything they want to play and off they go.
