Hey'all, Surely I can't be the first to start this discussion but as suggested by Senior GM Dunbar after a brief e-mail exchange about trying to find out why I can't find my Elite Scythe style in my alt character's style list to purchase with replay badges and where this style even came from, here I am: Elite styles. Again, maybe? Probably. First of all, now that I think about it, why is it Elite Scythe and not like all armors named Scythe (Elite). Dunbar explained to me that in order to get the style again I would need to run the raids that could drop the style, which I would gladly do if anyone actually actively ran old content. Ofcourse queueing up via On Duty isn't going to achieve anything, and finding 7 other players who would actually want to run that specific content is even harder. Even if a queue finally pops or I'd find 7 other people to run with, then it still might take WEEKS before I get the style I actually want. I get that Elite styles are a thing of "But you have to prove you can get it". But I've already proven that on my main character, who now has a lower gearscore than my alt. Not that that matters anyway, because everything in old content is scaled to the same level. And since it's old content, there's no need of gatekeeping the Elite styles. You can just straight up buy Elite styles in the newer old content with Source Marks. Long story short: Can I have my Elite Scythe style please? I still have replay badges. Also hi Dunbar ^_^ Decided to take it to the forums after all.
Just a suggestion on 'finding' it in your style list, if you are perusing the weapon styles, make sure to apply each so you can preview it while equipped. It would take longer than just reading the list, but I know several styles that are named something in the list that are just NOT what you'd expect. Obviously finding it then unlocking would be easier than trying to farm it, so worth the effort if you haven't done so already. Otherwise, good luck.
While we're on the subject of elite styles, can we have the same system of buying enhanced version of styles that were once available through daily login rewards such as the enhanced future warden style from the January 2022 daily login reward that hasn't been added to any of the vendors or marketplace in years? I can see scrolling through the styles for each piece and just buying it for replay badges even though I never unlocked it for my other toons.
I just realised something. I DO have elite style available to unlock with Replay Badges! I can unlock the Energy Armour (Elite) Back & Waist and the Herald of the Black (Elite) Shoulders. But why not the Elite Scythe?? It makes no sense!
Do you have other weapons (elite or otherwise) you can unlock of the same weapon type (2 handed I believe)?
Oh my god I do! I can unlock the Elite Khadga style for one handed. So I can unlock Elite armour styles and the Elite Khadga, but not the scythe? Dunbar assured me that this is not a bug. But then why cherrypick the scythe?
I use handblaster in the meantime but I do have a skill point in the staff tree so I can collect staves. I also have a staff ready to go in my inventory. My main and alt have the exact same styles shared except for the Elite Scythe. New staves that I've collected on my alt show up to unlock on my main, so that works as it should.
How else do you think I figured out I didn't have the Elite Scythe style on my alt? You need to equip a weapon in order to see which styles you have. That's how I found the Elite Khadga. I reset my skill points, put a point in one handed and bought a one handed weapon.
Figured you had...just checking. Personally I don't bother with too many weapon styles, so I wasn't sure if you'd see the unlockable ones WITHOUT equipping that particular weapon type first. Like I said, long shot you had not tried that. Sure sounds like a bug then.
