Fire under water is absolutely possible. Magnesium flares are one example underwaterwelding another. Since our characters fire is no burning Carbon sources, then it working in water makes absolutely sense. It is burning special tech, enabled through Metagenes or just magic.
Fire underwater is more common than black flames.

To criticize electricity is correct: Lightning bolts are a feature of electricity passing through air - in saltwater, it is still there but invisible.

I never thought about it, but this is probably why Fire, Firestorm and Starfire all have an intense dislike for Aquaman. He terrifies them, since they know that with a single wrong glance or snap of his fingers, he can wreak unstoppable destruction upon them.

    Aquaman... controls ... who ... lives ... and ... who ... dies...

Extreme heat and water are a very dangerous mix. It is better to stay away... better for both sides.

Yes, but you're forgetting that water used to work for the ******* (hmm, let's just say a paramilitary organization, I guess), and that fire had to look on haplessly as a little girl while water brutally murdered her parents. Even though water later changed its name to Evian and moved to Miami to work as a real estate developer dedicated to a number of charitable projects, fire can never forget that face. She sees it every night before she goes to sleep. Haunting her. Water. Water. Water.

I'm sorry, but this is just dumb: writing fiction of any sort doesn't mean "we can just throw logic out the window."

Noting that a particular point, or category of point, is nit-picking or trivial is one thing, but suggesting that story logic shouldn't exist at all, because it's "about imagination," and that plots should just let anything happen, is a ridiculous notion. Stories don't need to adhere to reality, but they do have to make sense in some way. All fiction is imaginary, but it's hardly all "illogical."

since we got water as a power, nothing makes sense at all anylonger.
forget the physics quantum told us, we are long past the event horizon,
now, there is only one way for logic: down the drain, were water belongs.

Not everything has to make sense. It's a video game.

No but if we really go with core Logic in DCUO, then it just breaks any room for fundamentals or breaks any room for story development.

    • If we're going by Logic, then why isn't Celestial the best DPS powerset since it's basically god like abilities?
    • If we're going by Logic, then why isn't Quantum right behind celestial in DPS? We can be able to be like the Flash and travel back in time and prevent ourselves from getting hurt.
    • If we're going by Logic, how come Poison Ivy didn't die from Fire and Ice DPS users since those kill plants?
    • If we're going by Logic, then how come DCUO doesn't have Advantages over powersets like Pokemon does? Water should be better than fire. Fire should be better than nature, and so on.
    • If we're going by Logic, then how do we attack people with one handed by Range? We use an Axe/clever or sword and we throw air at them to damage them, we don't throw the actual one handed sword or axe at the opponent.
    • If we're going by Logic, If Batman is so smart and has data on everyone and knows their weaknesses and exploits their weaknesses then why do we have to constantly come in and save the day if Batman is that smart?
I can keep going about how DCUO lacks logic, but you see if I do...
It comes across as cherry-picking and It really ruins any kind of Ideas or imagination the game or writing has going for it. There's plenty of holes in all types of writing and logic in everything comic and tv related, that goes for DCUO. But if you're going to poke out every single plot hole that DCUO has, you might as well do a video called "GamingSins DCUO" in the process.

it depends on how the things we see are delivered to us.
in a fantasy movie, magic and sorcery is something we expect to see (most of the time),
however: it can break you out of the concept if all of a sudden,
hightech and cutting edge technology is shown to be a thing in middle earth for example...
that been sayd: hopefully the devs have an ingame explanation,
even if it is as simple as "magic" or "a wizzard did it", that can answer how exactly it works....

speaking of wich, i miss the days you had buffs and debuffs for certain roles...
    tank > troll > heal > tank
wasn't it? i was a flying mental troll back then and used to swoop attack tanks
    (debuff and run like hell)

That PVP buffs/debuffs system was so severely flawed they had to eliminate it altogether.. in an attempt to provide more 'balance'.

Waaay too many people would cheese / exploit the hell out of it.

If this was true we would se a Lot of peoples using weapon mastery or respeccing to it since that would still work lol.

    What I wrote:
To repeat: there is infinite room between "everything must be absolutely realistic" and "nothing whatever needs to make sense."
