So, let me get that straight... You can't decide not to get the loot, can you? I mean, my point is I dont want to get beyond the CR relevancy and in order to do so I had decided not to get the loot, cuz once you get it you have to open the gear boxes. But it appears they force you to get the loot. When the countdown gets to 0 you'll authomatically get a random item.
I mean you don't have to take the gear if you don't want to level. If I have toons I don't want to level, I take base items or r&d plans. So yes, you have to take the loot..you just don't have to take gear. In the event there are gear choices only, you can keep them in your bank until you are ready to level up.
Yeah, you're right and I'm aware of that, but what you're saying doesn't hold true when the loot only consists of gear pieces, like the loot you get from the open world daily missions.
You're trying not get your cr up because you're not ready to go beyond relevancy. You can open the gear boxes when you're ready to up your cr more.
Deleting will help..but if he opens them it will automatically raise his cr and he's trying not to do that.
Pretty safe way to go if you have the inventory space for it, especially with the scaling gear boxes. It's a lot easier doing so with unattuned boxes, though, as you can actually see what the item level will be. Personally I'd love to see a "style only" option added to scaling gear box choices, but that's me.
I just wanted to find a way to keep getting Source Marks, given I'm not a legendary member and it appears to me that CR relevancy for the Event version takes a shorter time to exceed.
Getting Marks as a loot choice is random. As far as I know of there's no way to increase your chances of getting them, they show up when they show up.
this is just a theory - haven't tried it out but it's true that CR is based on gear so deleting/salvaging existing gear should lower your cr thus when opening new gear - depending on instance/content - the rewarded gear varies from same level to much higher levels to salvage in an instance - you'll need an R&D station if not - if you salvage gear before going into an instance- you're taking a chance, due to randomness of gear drops you might want to test this - by going into an instance w/less gear - say you salvage rings, mask, and waist your CR will be lower if you just remove gear and keep in inventory/bank - your CR will remain the same if you're already close to the next tier say tier I to tier II you may wish to delete multiple gear - just to ensure when you open the gear - it doesn't open up w/a higher level ... so say you go into a duo and you get to the loot part.... it's hands gear I'd at least delete your existing hands gear if you can see it's cr level - I'd also delete rings and/or mask or more so the tricky part is some of the instances drops gear that is a much higher level than existing so if it's purple/pink gear - delete multiple sets of gear if it's blue - you may still need to delete 2 gear if it's green - it should be safe to delete just that gear -just a thought...
It's overall CR that sets what the gear will be. That can't go down, even if you delete all of your gear. Once you have a particular slot at a certain CR, it's locked in. Edit: Your overall CR is in your stats screen or in your league listing.
I have had this problem too. I want to have a few toons to farm event and seasonal content, but want to keep them low enough to drag through content like FOS and batcaves where I can build up a lot of source marks to buy cats for my main toons, or prestige for the league. Past picking the non gear loot (not always an option) or filling your inventory/bank, the only option is to salvage gear before you open new gear. Normally you need to salvage 1 or 2 high return pieces like back/head/weapon before opening the new gear. Problem with that is that you can't really replace those pieces without also climbing CR as new gear will open higher(unless you buy vendor gear at fixed levels). It's a PITA for sure, but it can be done. An option to delete gear before opening would be good, but then you also can't salvage...so not a great option there either. Reinheld EDIT: As pointed out by Hraesvelg, you can't go backwards. New adjustable boxes will open at your CR level even if you salvage everything, but it will help slow progression. Eventually you will open one that will tick up a spot...enough of those and you will tick your total CR up a spot.
